Interested indeed... Will work on a back story for the thieves or Mageocracy.

Huge game... I've been playing in two other Pbp's at woldiangames.com for over a year now.. I won't be going anywhere if your not :)

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis holdshis position, I cant do much good with everyone swarming it! Jus know when your ready to pull out, he wont be following you heheh

More magic missiles!:

mm: 5d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 2, 3, 2, 2) + 5 = 15

Male Elf Wizard- 12

initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Nexumis grins as Malcoms comes to the front, but with our little dragon doing the dirty work, the smart way, Nexumis is even more pleased with the group as a whole.

I think all of us will get through thos alive

As the phantom reveals itself Nexumis points his staff at the mystic, Taste arcane elven bolts haha!

Five blue bolts of arcane energy fly from his gnarled staff, all slamming into the phantom one by one.

one charge on my staff; a small 14 damage...

mm rolls:

M1: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 m2: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 m3: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 m4: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 m5: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nex has seen more than a few magic traps, and constructed a couple as well. Although paintings? No, he probably wouldnt see a connection in this room. In RL i understand the trap, but nexumis wouldnt. Or at least not the whole trap. Id say hed figure A opponent will be summoned, not one for every painting, like im assuming ;)

Male Elf Wizard- 12

maybe a wall of force around the candles? or at the door. If i had a few hours i could prepare a hold portal spell.. didnt think bout that one... ppsshhh, i say blow em out Pen, orbetter yet, Malcom. Im sure we can handle what ever demon decides to visit

Male Elf Wizard- 12

An thays why Nex is scared oc gargoyles lol, they crush things lol

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis stands back, awaiting news from alearons detect magic, hes calm now, although very suspicious about these paintings.

metagame thinking Chir. None of our characters would think of pics coming to life... As a DM in my experience players that use metagame thinking always bad idea lol

Male Elf Wizard- 12

yes, and ghastly horrors cowar from the likes of loud metal noises, Nexumis snickers at his own joke and moves on, attempting to stay quite as well,

Then he thinks to the group, if you see nothing, and hear nothing odd, open the door so Malcom may give our foes the migraine to end all thoughts if only he still had metal shields to complete the orchestra

stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
When the door is opened perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Guys im back, not wanting to drop out at all. I was moving and my comp got dropped and broken... had no gime to get to a library and jus got internet on my phone today. Ill be posting regularly again from here on out... sorry for my absence.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

sorry guys, my comp was dropped during my moving, posting from khone only now, its been tight in the pocket or id have had internet on phone sooner. Im sorry guys.

Nexumis follows in the middle of the group, two more huh, makes my job much easier. Pleased to meet you both. Im Nexumis, possibly able to make Malcoms shields work again, but i dont know the spell Im afraid. Lets get going, Drake did ya find any traps on the door there?

Nexumis hangs back a ways, watching to see if traps are found. His staff in hand, he leans against a wall,.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis will wait and see if they can get out themselves before putting himself in danger, and casting his Heroism spell...He really doesn't want to go into that room; unless he HAS to.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis watches his two comrades become 'Zombies'

Get outta there! He screams at Malcom and Aelaeron,

Nexumis casts "Heroism" on himself, Hey Luca, a tap from that wand please? So I can help save your master? and prepares to enter the room to save his friends.

Only after gettin PoE cast on him will he enter the room himself.

Will Save: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 23

Male Elf Wizard- 12

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

See! NO magical nothin! Demonic Curses!! Were in for it now!

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Mystical energies or Demonic Curses? Nexumis calls back to Aelaeron. But nudges forward anyways. Standing still 10' away from the archway, Nexumis casts his own detect magic spell and concentrates as best he can on his findings.

Detect Magic Helpers:

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

Spell Craft: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26

Knowledge: Arcana: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

I thought I had a chance... Seems Dice roller doesn't like use finding out anything about these gargoyles here....

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Anything? Other than the stone devils? Nexumis calls from 30' down the hall,

If theres any need of my assistance just yell at me, and get out of the way.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis looks at the at malcom, his face still grim, If we go through that demonic arch way, Ill stand back as as far as my scorch beams or firball spell can go. But, I say we come back now that I've den whats inside. The gargoyles arnt alive yet. But its a bit harder to burn or stab stone than it is flesh.

He then makes his way down the hall a good 30 ft.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Interesting enough...

A dark room, walls lined with Gargoyle heads; or living stone Gargoyle heads. Their eyes.... Nexumis trails off a bit. His voice turns soft and quiet, his speech slow and 'faded'.

Their eyes, just... just staring at me.. He finally pulls away from the wall very slowly. His eyes wide, like he's been awake for weeks, his face showing something far worse than shocked. Terrified.

Living stone; Gargoyles; Dusty room; ]

Those eyes!

Malcom; if we decide to get into that room...

Those eyes! Burning into my mind

I don't know how much use I would be.

Unwavering Stare. Those eyes.

I've had bad experiences with Gargoyles before.

Those eyes! Seeing into my thoughts?

We should move on

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Didnt notice the hole, nice thinking

Nexiumis peeks through the hole, hoing to see something,

Perception Check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Maybe your right Pendin, but I dont think its insignificant. Maybe the warning isn't for behind the wall, but for whats to come, the spell put on the chalice for example.

Nexumis shurgs his shoulders and makes his way down the hall to Drake. See anything while on look out my friend?
Raising his voice, to be sure he's heard, he calls to his two kin in the 'sun room' Does your knowledge help with those symbols more than it has with the one on the other wall? If not, I say we move on one way or another. We've probably lingered to long as is due to my curiosity.

The wizard looks to Kyrsil and nods his head Kyrsil is right, sometimes I let my wondering get the best of me

Male Elf Wizard- 12

awww no tail? Nexumis laughs before using his own magicto wisp away his new ears.

Then looking to malcom is there any other way to get through a wall besides breaking it down? Maybe they're right though pal, it could be deviously mundane trapped, something we cant detect. But then again the signs could be there to just scare people away from a wizards quarters. Stuffed ful of knowledge an arcane items. Almost drooling just thinking about it hehe. But nevertheless i shall follow zuit, Drake, lead the way my stealthy friend.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Sorry to hear it... But, Never-the-less, The show must go on!

Famous quote from Jamie Maddrox!

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis smiles and nods to Aelaeron, Yes, a bit dodgy am I? I'm here under the same employer as you all. To help with the same thing; find out what the Hellknights are doing here, and what, IF, they've found anything. As I said, I've my own agenda as well, which I may relay to you if you stop your grumbling, you grumpy wizard you Nexumis lets out an out of place laugh. Finding it hard to stop giggling moments afterward.

Now, as far as my delicate mode of transportation is simply overwhelming and not important at the moment. Now, back to the matter at hand please Aelaeron, does your mind hold any better knowledge of these warnings? If so, oh do share my friend; I'm Dieing to know Another grin finds it's way to Nexumis's face.

I'll have to tell them eventually I'm sure... But now is not the time. Catching up to the Hell Knights must come first.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Looking to the half-elf, Maybe we should show the others before we do anything with this... This warning doesn't mean much by itself... What do you think?

Nexumis motions for the rest of the party to come check it out;

Want to break down the wall Mal?

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis looks at Pemdin with an confused gaze, giggles slighty an nods his head agreeong with Drake. Seeing Chirinide go to check out the arcane symbols, Nexumis figures two heads are better than one, he walks with her to help figure them out.

I didnt mean to undermine you m'lady. I dont believe the gnol woud have beem much use, forgive my boldness.

K. Arcane: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Magic helps to get information that they already know. Not making them smart enough to understand what they've seen within this castle. You may have learned where they were headed to, or a rough description of what they found in here.. But nothing more intelligent than a child Elf could tell you. Gnolls are in fact, a stupid race in whole. I've dealt with them before. Lets stop this bickering over an over grown pest and move along; agreed?

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Gnolls are stupid and weak creatures... Something leads me to think the treasure of Maure Castle can wait a bit. Dealing with this Gnoll army and evil wizard may be of a more pressing matter... But with gnolls within this place already, you think there maybe some passage leading from here to the mountains you named?

The elf rubs his free hand through his hair, sighs and closes his eyes for a few seconds; a quick meditate if you will..

This is getting a bit confusing to me; can some one fill me in with the details... Why exactly did we come to investigate this castle? Merely to find the treasures inside and solve its mysteries? Is is there a bigger picture that were aware of? An secondly, the Gnoll... Where, or when did you encounter it in here? Did it follow you in? Or was it patrolling? Wandering? Or in search of something within Maure?

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis nods in agreement with Aelaeron. Since I was ported into the castle; I'm not sure which way you all came to get here. But I think our alarm shouldn't be wasted on someone merely passing through the halls. I'd like it to be sounded only if the passerby is for sure taking our route. So; we must decide which way were heading before I cast the spell, once we do I'll place it so that no matter how small or large the being is, if its following us, I'll know about it and be able to alert the rest of you. As I said before, I'll make it a mental alarm, that way I can 'hear' it up to a mile away and our enemies won't be alerted at all. Sound good to everyone?

Watching the human scramble over to the gnoll and then back again clutching a piece of paper, Nexumis eyes him with interest. What might you have there Drake m'boy?

As he asks about it being magic, Nexumis chuckles a bit, If it is magic, its probably a scroll of some sort. Doubtful a piece of paper is a magic trap. And if it is... The elf pauses for a second,

It would be triggered by the gaze of your eyes young one. Merely opening it wouldn't cause you any harm. But an Explosive Rune spell.. That could kill you in an instant. Very hard to detect with mundane means, and yet still difficult using magic as well. Let me see what I can see

Cast Detect magic on the paper as well; Study the Aura, if one exists, for as long as needed to determine as follows
==============================================

1. Strength of aura or spell.
2. Whether its Divine or Arcane
3. Which School of magic its derived from
4. What spell it is.

Spellcraft check: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 35 To determine the above

Perception Check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 To find 'explosive Runes' or another trap within the paper.

GM:
The perception check shouldn't be needed really. If the Detect magic/spellcraft combination is high enough to figure out the aura and spell on the paper; it should 'over ride' the perception check.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Returning to the rest of the party at the entrance to the Chalice room, Nexumis smiles at Chirinide, Such a pretty name for a lady elf. Even if the blood of mortals runs through your veins; Its a pleasure m'lady. He extends his hand, bows and gives the customary kiss on hers as she grasps his own.

I'm Nexumis; scholar, wizard and seeker of mysteries. My Journey to help the Society and this group have multiple meanings. Above all, to unlock the secrets of Maure Castle. I'll be chronicling our time here; does anyone have anything to share about the time before I showed up.

He pulls a small pocket book out of his robs, along with an ink pen. With a wave of his hand and a simple incantation Tel' Rekeen

The pen begins writing in elven upon the note pad I'm simply writing about the Chalice, the Bodaks and a description of each person. Including your names and obvious area of expertise. I may make modifications at a later time; when were not pressed for action.

I'll be making a RL copy of his 'book' on my CS at Dndsheets.net. If anyone is interested in reading or adding to it :)

Back to the matter at hand Kerrleas. Aelaeron seems to believe we can pass through the Chalice room by staying near the walls. Lets hope he's correct.

The elf looks to the two tough guys in the group, Pendin or Malcom should lead us through I think. With the other bringing up the rear. As far as the 'alarm' goes, I'll place the spell at the exit we choose leave the Chalice room; making it a mental alarm that way It can't be heard by our enemies, nor can it be tampered with.

He points to his elven friend, Aelaeron; if you have this ability as well maybe putting one at this entrance to the room wouldn't be a bad Idea ether. That way we would know if they entered the Chalice room, but took a different exit than we did. What say you all?

He puts his note pad back into his robes and awaits his 'Kerrleas' response.
==========================

Kerrlease= Elven word for 'friends'
Tel' Rekeen= Elven incantation for the Prestidigitation spell. "Minor Tricks" I figured that was good enough to have a pen write on a note pad by itself.

Nexumis will cast alarm at the exit of the Chalice room that the party takes, if your next post takes us through the room. If not, then we'll play this one post at a time :) Lovin the game so far man! Lets GO!

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis merely nods at Alearen; still thinking about the Chalice. Upon hearing the plan and Pendin volunteering to test the elves theory, he nods in agreement. Yes, a capable man such as yourself would be a great test. If the room is impassable, is there another way around? I'll check the room where to Bodaks were for any secrete passages or magical doors maybe...

Nexumis heads to the other room and helps with the search.

{remember, Elves have a +2 perception check on noticing secret doors or traps/switches doors of magical nature.}

1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25 Perception check

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis smiles as Aelaeron reveals his magical abilities, and sharing the information about the fire resistant Bodaks,

Why didn't I know such things... At least a fellow Elf has enough sense to learn of our enemy's... I must talk with this one

Nexumis makes his way over to Aelaeron, Kyrsil perched atop his shoulder something like a parrot,

Elven:
Nice to know I'm traveling with another of my kin. The fact you dabble in the arts only makes it that much better
The elf gives a grand smile; and looks toward the Chalice.

What is everyones thoughts about this Chalice, is it approachable? Any clues to its purpose or a reason for its being here?

Nexumis waves his hand in the direction of the room and the chalice within, closing his eyes he connects himself to the Weave, trying to get as much information as he can about the Chalice and the room itself. Upon feeling any magical aura he racks his knowledge of spells and the Arcane trying to figure out what spell might be cast within.

Detect Magic:Study for 4-6 'rounds'

Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36 -- Should tell me what spell has been cast.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Ahhh, I didn't know that. Here is what Nexumis does instead, he wouldn't take the chance of being immobilized...

Nexumis watching in amazement as Pendin moves his limbs in a flurry so fast its almost confusing. Young one, you move of Elven grace and speed, your gods must favor you for sure.

Looking down the hall he also notices its full weeds, brush and not just normal things, but moving things... I'll not be stuck in that, he thinks to himself...

Power of the underworld, devils and the sun. Give me the fire, the flame and the power I seek, to wreak havoc among these undead monsters! Nexumis casts his flaming sphere spell down the hall.

================
Actions:
Cast flaming sphere at C,41. 1d6 ⇒ 5 1d6 ⇒ 3 1d6 ⇒ 2 = 10 fire damage.. Possibly igniting all the plants around as well....

About my familiar, Kyrsil. I'm not sure how to look up what abilities he has for being my familiar... Like his Hit Die, attack bonuses, skills, feats, any special abilities... Any chance you could help me out, or at least point me in the right direction??

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Nexumis watching in amazement as Pendin moves his limbs in a flurry so fast its almost confusing. Young one, you move of Elven grace and speed, your gods must favor you for sure.

Nexumis makes his way within range of his next spell, reciting ancient elven words of life and death,
Having one of these things on our side might be a good idea? I think it would, Yollandra, Take hold of this abamonation! Take this creature and erase its mind, from now and forth it is MINE!

Kyrsil Stay back for now, I'd not have your look upon their gaze.

=====================

Actions::

Move: Move to E39
Spell: Nexumis points at the Bodak at C42; casting Command Undead. Will save of 20 or be commanded by Nexumis.

If the Bodak is commanded by Nexumis:
On its turn, It will attack ethier Bodak in front of him, C41 unless Pendin takes it down, D41 if the other is dead. In case of rolling atk and dam, I would hope and assume you would take care of that right Lord DM?

I assume I appeared near where it says "Door way" on the map. So, last round I moved to the edge of the green area, and this round I moved half-way down the 'green hallway'.

Male Elf Wizard- 12

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 -- Init

Im able to post during the day mostly, after 3pm Im at work till about 1am... And I've never played a pbp with Init rolls.. Where do I fall in order, so I know whos actions come before mine, which might change what I do in the future...

Male Elf Wizard- 12

A swirl of blue and white light appear near the middle of the room forming an oval portal and producing a grand looking elf dressed in ocean blue robes lined with silver stitching. His blond hair flows down to his mid back, with six braids, three on each side of his head hanging by his chest. Gripping a reddish/brown hickory staff almost matching his copper headband with a yellow gem set within, looking almost as a third eye in the middle of his brow. His face flawlessly smooth but a worried look appears in his eyes.

Oh my... I maybe to late he says in elven, his voice smooth and harmonic. Looking around the room he takes in the dangers the party is facing. (Perception Check)

Kyrsil! Our comrads need our help my friend He says again, in elven, and a Pseudodragon squirms its way out from under the wizards robes and hovers next to Nexumis' head. Chirping wildly its obvious to tell that Kyrsil isn't approving of the sights before his eyes.

Sorry I'm late, Nexumis is here! How can I be of assistance friends? He says in Common. Then pointing his staff at the Bodaks Magic Missile! He commands, firing five magic missiles out of his staff. After attacking Kyrsil and Nexumis make their way to the other side of the room, away from the creatures.
=======================================
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
5 Missiles at any one Bodak near Malcom: 1: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 2: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 3: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 4: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 5: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

OOC: Hey guys, I've been waiting to join in :) Happy I'm able to come in a time of need. Since I couldn't see the map guys, Or I would have been more specific, I just did a simple attack that doesn't require much rolling. Once I'm up to speed on the area and what not I'll dive right in :) ... Did you email the map to me? Not sure what my email is on here, but send ANYTHING to Tweakerkiller9@yahoo.com

So the game is still open! YeS! I'm so down... I've been wanting to play in a drow game forever! I'll have a CS put up within a few hours... :)

Male Elf Wizard- 12

Did I get booted out man? I skimmed through posts and missed me being approved until today.. I feel like a dumbass really...

If Im still able to play I'd love to!

ok; got that posted, so what do you think?

Im confused guys... I don't know where/how to post anything to my "Profile..." But,

Here is the link http://www.dndsheets.net/view.php?id=36769

Dangerously Curious- + 1 Use magic device
Precocious Spellcaster- +2 spellcraft checks
Youthful Mischief- +1 reflex save

Im still working on a background, somewhat difficult without much knowledge of the Golarian setting...

But Nexumis is an older elf, 423yrs old. He just recently started to dabble into the Society only because his younger brother died and dreamed of becoming one of them. So, an elf passed his 400yr mark has takin up the dream of his 100yr old brother. His main goal is to just make a name for the Lionseer family and a job even somewhat related to the Society is a good enough start.

Nexumis is from a wealthy family and was bred to be a wizard, as most men in his family. The Lionseers. He is a big picture, quiet, set back and watch type of Elf. He has kept with him from the younger years his quick reflexes from being alert to his surroundings. Curious, but not overly so because he, a bit arrogantly, feels he knows more than most people, espicially humans and half-lings who he believes couldn't ever possibly retain a much knowledge as he as aquired over his many years...

Let me know what you think

Looking to Play an Elven Ranger/Wizard. Im new to this site, but have been playing pathfinder since it came out, and DnD in general since I was 9 yrs old. Im 23 now, so I have decent amount of experience. I'll have a character sheet in within a few hours. Only problem is I don't have the Campaign setting book, I plan to look online for information to use for my background, but if you have anything you could send me to help out, it would be appreciated..

Thanks
