I need to cancel all of my subscriptions at this time, do to some unforeseen events. I really hate doing this, but keep up the good work. Have loved most everything you all have been doing.

Well I have recived an e-mail, telling me this order would be sent by Standard Postal Delivery. I am sure that was my screw up one way or another, if it is not to late could you change it to UPS, I really don't like to use USPS, they have a good time of losing or damaging my books, thank you for any help you can give me on this one. If it can not be changed at this point then I thank you guys anyways, and just want to say keep up the great work!

#1 Pathfinder/d20
#2 Warhammer Fantasy (the new one)
#3 Warhammer 40000

I have picked up RuneQuest 2, have not plaid it but after going over it I think I would love to start a campaign with it, going to convert Jakandor over to the RQ2 system. May even like the % system better then Warhammer Fantasy 2nd ed. or 40000, but will have to put it to the test.
Picked up Dragon Age Origins have not made up my mind on this one, think I will have to just try it out sometime. (Once I have the time)

Anima: Beyond Fantasy, but I love its epic scope, once you get into the uper tiers you can become powerful enough to create or destroy worlds. Alas another one I think may be very good but have not had the time or the people to try it yet.

Just to check I have it clear: you want to run an Iron Heroes game, and introduce Pathfinder monsters and classes as adversaries? Or are the players able to choose between IH and PF classes themselves also?

Yes, PCs would be IH Class only.

(1) Save or dies. Iron Heroes classes have great saves, but once they fail against petrification or the like, they're out of the game - unless you introduce a plot device specifically to get them out of jail, which is awkward.

Well on this one that could ruin a game quick, I would us some of the advice out of one of the books I have from IH, cant remember the exact one at the time, that said how to handle such spell, as for petrification, as you used that as an example I believe it said make those type of spells only last a given amount of time, vs. your stone and its done. Others I would have to look over and decide if I could do something along those lines or just not even put it in play.

(2) No save and no progress. Iron Heroes classes have no way to Dispel Magic, no magical means to bypass Walls of Force etc, and are pretty stuffed by water, air, or earthly barriers. PF monsters and classes are made for a world where progress against those challenges is possible, and where combat can make use of such territories. If your game is set at middling levels or above, you'll need a solution to that - preferably a broad mechnical one, since, once again, too many helpful plot devices gets old fast.

I have a couple couple of books that I am looking at that may replace the base magic user of Iron Heroes without loosing the flavor of said class, have not decided on the one to use yet, but I will use it as a guideline on what the invaders may be able to use or not use.... and from the sounds of it will need to do the same with any creature that is brought in. Maybe that could work?

(3) IH classes against PF classes will work at low levels - I've done this in a previous game, and I'd say 5th is about the cut-off. After that point, top tier full spellcasters will blow the IH classes out of the water if you're standing them off against one another. As a low-level example from my old game, I had a 4th level wizard, invisible and levitating, summoning creatures vs a 2nd level IH party of four. That would have been a TPK all by itself, had I not pulled punches. The Iron Heroes party was pretty optimised, but had no solid means of dealing with any of the challenges the wizard presented: frankly, even reaching a levitating foe is hard for many Iron PCs.

This is a great example thank you very much and has given me much needed info, it will give me a good few things to go over. Thank you very much it has really helped open my eyes to the things I need to look for. And its really great to hear it from someone that has gone through the trial of using the rules in play.

Long and short of it: I think adding Pathfinder bits to Iron Heroes is harder than adding Iron Heroes bits to Pathfinder. You'll have to be careful with all the things...

That very well may be the thing I do after going over a few things.

Again thank you and everyone, it has all been very helpful helpful.

Well I don't really want to gut and throw Iron Heroes into Pathfinder per say, I would like for Pathfinder to stand on its own. What I was thinking of doing was throwing some Pathfinder into Iron Heroes, I know that the IH Classes were suppost to be balanced with the 3.? classes, how have you found them to be with the Pathfinder classes, and for that matter the creatures?

I was going to do a home brew with IH as the base, and use some PF creatures and class as some of the foes, maybe not a bunch but maybe here and there, maybe have them come from another world or just another part of the world.... not sure yet, at first as scouts of an unknown empire. I did think of the magic problem and did not wan't IH characters getting there hands on such, as that would make things go out of wack in short. But believe I have that problem at least partly solved, maybe the magic from the tell now unknown empire is not so healthy for those of an IH base, think it would be to cheap to make them not work, but maybe prolonged use or not so prolonged use depending on the item, would hender the inborn self reliance of an IH character, have not worked that out.

I know PF has made its classes a cut above 3.?, so does it balance now, or would PF rule? I want a conflict not total domination. I know it has some bugs that need squashing but before I get to far along trying to get a grip on what is going to be the largest bugs.

Oh and has anyone tried out any prestige like classes on an IH character, and if so how has that worked?

Oh and thanks to everyone that has given ther two cps so far!

What do you mean by this? Maybe an example, and thank you for your info.

And at higher levels do you mean that they could not really hold there own?

I was wondering how compatible the Iron Heroes rules are to Pathfinder, I know that Iron Heroes PC Classes were to work with 3.? balance of CR with a few exceptions here and there. So has anyone tried the two systems and if so how has it worked out for you?

The reason I ask is because Iron Heros base classes had been made with the idea of not needing any magic items and take on the creatures of the world, and that made them need to be more powerful then 3.* characters without all there magic gear, but Pathfinder Classes have been made more powerful then there brothers and sisters of 3.* so how bad would it throw the Iron Heros off balance whys in a Pathfinder setting?

I have been thinking of the classes and the amount of xp it takes for each to go up in level. Some people think that this class or that class is more powerful then the next and how one could make a changed to bring it in line with the others or what have you.

I have also been thinking about xp and how all classes level with the same amount of xp no matter if they are a rogue or a wizard that must study the great arcane....and to some extent the npc classes that are so underpowered being that they are not normally used by players.

Anyways to my point and my question.... there are three xp charts given for all classes depending on how quick you as a dm would like the pcs to go up in level. Would it be such a bad idea to maybe give npc classes the fast rate of gain other pc class the med rate or even the slow rate depending on power or just the class it may be, I know that it would be more paperwork and such, but not much.

I have even thought of maybe to balance multiclassing have it that if a fighter of 10th level wanted to start learning the ways of magic he would have a wizards pull of xp and his own fighters xp pool, along the lines of 1st and 2nd ed.

Maybe he would have to gain an amount of multiclassing xp then cash it in for a the first level of the new class of another and depending on how hard to go from one class to another would depend on how much xp would be spent. So rogue and fighter maybe not so bad, fighter to wizard would be much more but after that you would level up in the new class by that xp pool. Or maybe one would have to roleplay and do in game non xp cost things to start in the new class.
Anyways just some thoughts, what would be good and bad about this system, could it work or would it just brake. What are any of your ideas on this?

I was going to most likely going to invest some of my money into dreamscarred and give them a chance but nothing looks like it is pathfinder just d20 3.5, am I wrong? I love some psi, and dont mind giving someone that is willing to cover it a chance.

I think it would be great for an epic level cap of sorts for the sake of balance, but maybe after that there could be a book that takes it beyond epic, if not deity level something along the line of immortal level characters or some such. I really dont think gods are beyond reproach if one can become powerful enough, the deities are not all powerful, because if one was all powerful most likely it would be the only god of that world, or at least it would rule the others hands down.

I know that is not everyonce cup of tea, but it could be fun, maybe the limmits of an immortal would be no higher then demigod, after that you can no longer live among mortals without the other deities bringing a world of pain if not destruction down upon your head, think ending a character at the time he becomes a deity would be a great ending to a players character.

I don't really think there needs to be an epic book per say, if they ever take it to levels beyond 20th, I hope its a more natural growth then just a tack on product. From what I recall the epic book seemed to brake the mold way to much just because you gained 1 level more past 20th, like the price of things and such.

Maybe it would be better to have a book that would cover lets say the next 10 or even 20 levels so that away the growth and balance may be more easily retained (tested). it dont make sence to me to have rules from 1st to 20th then as nice as it sounds another covering every single level after.

I think doing it this way would make it more easy to balance things like players that want a chance to be a deity even if its a miner deity (demi or so), because if you think about it they are going to already be able to slaughter whole armys, so deity like powers are not so far out there. Oh the other thing I hated was how magic broke down in the epic book, it should continue as is not again brake the mold, just give more slots and spells that are really 10th, 11th, 12th and so on. Anyways thats just a few thoughts on the hole thing. I like levels beyond 20th, just not how it was done.

I am very happy to see that they are going to cover the subject of solo campaigns!

I first want to say that I really love the work that you all have done, and continue to do, although I hate to see the end of an era I wish you all the best with Pathfinder and all the other things you may have planed, you have my support as long and as much as I am able, and I hope that this new era will be a golden one for us all. I know you all are excited about this new path you are set upon and I am excited for you.
May God bless you all and let your days end with success.

I did vote on finding more about the world itself but I must say I really would like to know more about the demons/gods of the world. I would also like to know if or when you create the demons/gods of your world will they be beyond the challenge of mortals or will they have reason to fear a mortal that grows in enough power?

I have always liked Necromancer Games and Paizo, this should make for a great team. This really is cool in so many ways, this was wise of you all on bothe sides. Hope to see great things from this and have no reason not to think I wont.

Wow, I am just a high school drop out, oh well. Nice going for the rest of you though.

Option B 100%
I would love to see: Dark Sun, Planescape, Ghostwalk, Birthright and very much so Jakandor: Island of War..so much could be done with the last one on my list, and I belive it would not be to hard for others to place into most peoples campaigns.

Erik, I really love what you have been doing with Dragon, you all are doing a great job, and I know you all can keep up the good work, thanks.
