Healaugh finds that the boxes contain the usual foodstuffs and supplies for a small community. Nothing to interest the seasoned adventurer.

Ah! but seasoned foodstuffs and supplies would interest the usual adventurer.

Nechtan checks to see if any of this food is still good.

Then he grunts, "Check otherr brrochs."

Nechtan looks around wildly, but he finds no more targets. Eventually his breathing slows, and he is lulled by the sound of the hurdy-gurdy.

Uses 2 surges during short rest

Ignoring his wounds, the Krutne moves to flank the verbeeg next to him, and harries it with sharpeneed steel.

Shift to Q6. V2 Hunter's Quarry. Twin Strike (1d20+10=16, 1d10+2=7, 1d20+9=28, 1d6+1=4, 1d8=1) add HQ damage to first hit.

He then shakes his head to clear the cobwebs.

Action Point. Second Wind

One clarification on Crits: Nat 20 is auto-hit, it does max damage + any special weapon Crit damage as long as the total is a hit. So a Nat 20 might not hit something with really high defence. As I understand it.

EDIT: Thanks Ddraig!

Not to worry, I've already been pushed back. Your talents would be better spent elsewhere.

OUCH! Bloodied and at 1 hp!

Nechtan slashes lethally at the verbeeg in front of him.
Twin Strike with Flank: Sword, Axe, HQ (1d20+10=24, 1d10+2=8, 1d20+9=29, 1d6+1=2, 1d8=6) +1 more to hit from Ynyr. Axe is a crit, so cold damage is actually 1d6+7=10 cold damage, to go with the 14 from the claymore. If V1 falls: Nechtan lets loose with a lupine howl as he charges towards the next opponent. move to P7

Nechtan howls "Take that, ye cludgies!!"

Nechtan slashes madly at the verbeeg in front of him, then retreats a step.

Twin Strike: Sword,Axe,Quarry (1d20+8=21, 1d10+2=7, 1d20+7=26, 1d6+1=6, 1d8=2) If the first attack drops V4, he will attack V1 with the axe (HQ on the first hit). Shift to S5. If V4 falls, declare V1 new Quarry.

Nechtan will take advantage of the slide to return to R6

Nechtan reels from the blow. Bloodied

DM

Spoiler:

Sorry, just found out that the feat only gives +1 to damage on the main weapon. So the axe damage should be 1 less.

DM

Spoiler:

Nechtan's +2 on damage comes from enhancement on each of his weapons(+1), and Two-Weapon Fighting (+1). Sorry that I didn't clarify that somewhere in the powers section.

I'm glad that you are checking these things, as I haven't played much 4e, and there are things that I miss (like the Twin Strike error that you pointed out earlier).

DM

Spoiler:

Will probably be unavailable rest of day.
On Nechtan's turn
Shift to R6
use Twin Strike on Verbeeg 4 (vs AC) Twin Strike + Hunter's Quarry (1d20+8=14, 1d10+2=3, 1d20+7=24, 1d6+2=8, 1d8=4)
{looks like hand axe hits for 12 cold damage? or 8 cold and 4 damage)

If Verbeeg 4 makes an attack while still adjacent to Nechtan, the Krutne will use Disruptive Strike (vs AC)
Disruptive Strike (1d20+8=20, 1d10+5=11)
If it hits, the Verbeeg takes -5 on his attack roll.

I just realized that I didn't add one of Nechtan's powers to his profile: Disruptive Strike. I thought that his options seemed a little limited for 3rd level ;)

Also, my availability will be spotty for the next 3 days. I will post actions ahead of time when possible, if that's ok.

Nechtan bursts from cover, moving swiftly to the smouldering crates R8 and slashing all about him with his claymore.

Dire Wolverine Strike: Damage (1d10+5=9) , Attacks vs V4, V1, V3 (1d20+8=15, 1d20+8=24, 1d20+8=18) vs AC, if he hits V4 (unlikely) HQ damage (1d8=3) .

I am so sorry! Somehow, I missed the initiative section of Fabes last post, and only read the spoiler. I've been waiting for action to start, and wondering why Darvyl had posted his turn. Mea Culpa.

Nechtan move straight ahead towards the hut, and circles around it towards the wall. He picks out the closest Verbeeg that he can see for "Special Attention".

Move 9 squares (Double). Hunter's Quarry on one 4 squares diagonal from new position (he is beside store). Stealth (include -5 for move)Stealth (1d20+3=22) Wow! I should have played a Rogue!

"Not deef."

Nature (1d20+8=27)

"Och! Those Fhoi Myore."

Initiative (1d20+4=20)
What is the knowledge skill for Verbeeg?

Nechtan sighs and returns.

"Otherr plan? Attack. Aisy as stealin a peg. Just Fhoi Myore, nae?"

Nechtan nods, "Sounds like Krutne plan."

He skulks off, ready to aid Healaugh.
Stealth (1d20+8=21)

"Fhoi Myore?"

Nechtan readies his claymore and axe.

Nechtan attempts to extend the bridge, so that the others can cross easily.

Seeking to shield the bard from danger, Nechtan responds to the paladin's request first and picks his way around the pit.

If necessary, Acrobatics (1d20+8=22)

Nechtan searches the table for anything still edible.

"Off to the toon, then?", he asks Healaugh.

Healaugh wrote:

Is Nechtan a slightly outsize Feegle by any chance?

I was thinking that he may be somewhere between Rob Roy and Rob Anybody... ;)

"Fabes DM wrote:

The people of Gwennyth are not raiders. It is not something they would be doing.

No... but it's what Nechtan might be doing.

"Should check out yon big broch."

"Not pirratin! RRaidin! Go and get sheeps and coos. Prroove uns livin an manly! Imprress lassies."

"Mebbe all out rraidin. Other trribes got sheeps?"

"Am here.", Nechtan stated, sauntering forward.

The Krutne had come due to the ties of his blood-debt, so he arrived ready for war: his weapons freshly oiled and sharpened, his predominantly blue skin glistening with lanolin, and his hair newly formed into a halo of spikes by lime and guano.

He glares up at the two strangers. The artificer he recognizes from description, and quickly dismisses. The warrior he eyes warily, watching for signs of attack.

Rev Rosey

Spoiler:

How do you feel about Nechtan owing Healaugh a blood-debt, due to his having been pulled out of the sea by the bard?

I believe that Nechtan is mechanically complete. Please let me know if there are any issues.

Fabes

Spoiler:

I took one extra language, "Krutne", but I don't expect it to have a game effect. If you want, I will drop Giant.

Oh, I also took a rowboat.

I will try to have Nechtan ready ASAP, probably tomorrow.
