A monk teaser before the A3 release, please? Pretty please with sugar on top? ;)

I'm in favor of ditching the favored classes altogether. It seems to pigeonhole some things that don't need pigeonholing. For example, my playtest group has an elf barbarian, who is really getting shafted on hit points because of the combination of racial bonus hit points (the option we're using) and being of a non-favored class. If the character was, say, a half-elf, he'd be starting out with 4 hit points more (racial + racial con. mod. + favored class). I have no problem with the racial hit point bonus or the race con. modifier, but I really don't see the point of penalizing the player for the choice of race for his barbarian character.

Looks like the release has been postponed to next week. Darn. My playtest campaign, which is scheduled to start at the end of next week, has 2 ranger characters and a monk, so here's to hoping that the release will be out soon.. ;)

However it seems to me that Paizo has fallen into the trap of only making female gay characters. What I would like to see are some gay male characters and transsexuals in Golarion, the women have had their fun, let the boys and anyone in between in on it as well!

Also, I would like to see some information on how these groups are generally treated in the various societies on Golarion (most of what I've seen up til now seems to be quite progressive, but I doubt that is true for the entire world).

Sandpoint has two male gay characters. The owner of Sandpoint Theatre Cyrdak Drokkus (CN male human bard 6) and Sir Jaspes Korvaski (LG male human paladin 3/expert 1). I'll quote from page 66 of PF AP #1: "Although Cyrdak enjoys flirting with all of Sandpoint's young women his romantic relationship with Jasper (area 40) is one of the town's worst kept secrets."

Judging from the fact that Sir Jasper is still considered a paladin of good standing and is holding a day job as the manager of a prestigious business (The Sandpoint Merchantile League) I'd say that Sandpoint natives have little or no scruples whatsoever regarding homosexuality.

What I'd like to see is a major cross-dressing villain in the vein of Frank-N-Furter from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

A very informative thread that one. Thank you.

Where's this mentioned? The writeup describing what the shoanti look like is otherwise rather comprehensive curiously omitting to mention that they actually have brown or reddish-brown skin.

Although I guess a few centuries of migrations and intermingling of tribes might result in large variation in complexions. The real world analogy of the population of India springs to mind, with "indians" having complexions ranging from rather fair to almost dark brown.

Hello,

Got a question regarding shoanti complexion. The Rise of the Runelords describes their skin color as "ruddy", which a few internet searches points as being "a healthy reddish color associated with outdoor types". Then there is the shoanti sheriff of Sandpoint, who, according to the picture of him appears to have a cafe latte brown complexion. I'm confused. Is it caucasian with a tan, light brown, reddish brown, african, middle-eastern or something else? Just the color that is.

This from here: http://paizo.com/pathfinder/pathfinderRPG

"This coming August, Paizo will release a massive, full-color, softcover Pathfinder RPG Beta release for $24.99. This book will be available on paizo.com, at Gen Con, as well as through hobby distribution at local game stores. Just like the Alpha releases, the Beta release will be available as a free PDF download on paizo.com."

Alpha 3 should be out in a few weeks it seems. The blog also has some teasers on what a PF lvl 8 Bard might look like.

Free PDF's are the single best reason to subscribe, IMO.

Yes, well, I realize that. As a latecomer to Pathfinder I had to backorder issues #1-#6 of the Adventure Path, thus missing out on the pdf:s. Seems the only way for me to get them now is bying them separately.. :(

Okei, thank you for that tidbit of information. Makes me happy as a clam. :) By the way, I really love the fact that I get a free PDF-version with every book I've gotten as part of a subscription. Its a pity that free PDF:s aren't included with books orderer outside the subs.

Says on the page here: "Note: This accessory product is part of the Pathfinder Chronicles subscription, and is not automatically included with ongoing Pathfinder subscriptions."

What does that mean? I am a subscriber of the Pathfinder Chronicles. Does that mean I'll get this book automatically or not?

Hi,

I just placed a subscription of Pathfinder Chronicles. I'm already a subscriber of the Pathfinder Adventure Path, so naturally I chose the group into as few packages as possible option to cut back on shipping.

A few hours after placing that beforementioned order, I placed another order. I was wondering if it would be possible to ship all of these items in the same package (That is, the next issue of the Adventure Path, The first issue of the Chronicles and the order consisting of the Rise of the Runelords and Curse of the Crimson Throne Player's guides).

On another note: I just received the order consisting of Guide to Korvosa and Rise of the Runelords Map Folio. Both of these have suffered some damage during the shipping. The upper left corners of said items are bent out of shape.

My Pathfinder #7 shipped on April 1st arrived with the mail today. That's a total of 20 days in transit to Finland. Not too shabby.

Your Pathfinder did ship out on April 1st. Unfortunately, the display doesn't reflect this properly as this was the fist volume on the subscription and therefore subsumed into the order which created the subscription itself (925603). We are working on ways to make this display more clear adn informative.

As for the delivery estimate, the 9-36 business days reflects the unpredictability of shipments going oversea via standard mail. The only way to get a more specific delivery estimate is to ship your subscription using a higher class of mail. It is just this faster, more predictable delivery that you are paying for with the higher shipping and handling fee associated with USPS Priority Mail.

Thanks,
cos

Thank you for the information. I'll be waiting then. ;) No issue #7 by the end of May and I might even start getting cranky.

This is all the information there is at My Account. No note of the #7 issue even having been shipped. I'm assuming it was shipped on the 1st or 2nd of April since the cost of said issue has already been charged from my credit card account. I would appreciate a confirmation of shipping and a better estimate of delivery than the rather vague 9-35 business days mentioned elsewhere.
