Background:
Natalie is a useless girl, and she knows it.

Growing up in the city of Lionsgate, the daughter of a middling nobleman in support Jean Le Blanc Roi, she was soon seen as terrible at anything that a proper noblewoman should be adept at. Her embroidery was sloppy, her ability with any musical instrument was lackluster, and her capacity for conversation was nearly non-existent. When they thought instead to try her at fencing or archery or riding, she was just as inept. After half a decade of trial and error, they simply gave up on the elder daughter and put their efforts into the younger son.

This would suit Natalie fine, as she did in fact possess a particular talent, as useless as it was for her station: She was absolutely voracious about knowledge. The family library had been read through twice before she was a teen, and most of her pocket money went to the purchase of new books and tomes. History and legends about the world beyond the city inspired her, the secrets of magic drew her in, and soon enough she was searching for a mentor to guide her.

The fact that magic was dangerous didn't bother her, and she started visiting a local wizard - though she spent a month sitting on his house's stoop quietly reading, as she kept losing the nerve to talk to a stranger. The elderly wizard finally had enough after a while, asking what it was that she wanted, and after an hour of building up her courage, she managed to ask for instruction in the arcane arts.

That lasted for the better part of a decade, as Natalie poured herself into learning as much as she could during her apprenticeship. Her parents didn't approve of her learning such a useless craft, but as they'd given up on her as an heir they allowed her to pursue it regardless. She found an affinity for the magic of transmutation - the magic of change, as she personally wanted to change things about herself. She learned new languages and The work was hard and tiring, but ultimately rewarding.

Then, quite suddenly, the old wizard died - Fiacre had been in his later years, but it still came to a shock to poor Natalie that he'd died overnight in his sleep. The biggest regret in her mind was that his life's ambition of finding the Vessel that carried the elves to this world would never be fulfilled. That caused her to wonder if there was more to learning than reading from a book. Partially to prove that she's become a capable person, and partially to experience the world as scary as it might be, she slipped out of her home one evening when no one was watching and left to learn firsthand about the world.

Appearance:
Natalie possesses the beauty of her genetic station, standing at 5'4", with ivory white skin devoid of blemishes and ebony black hair as smooth and fine as silk. Unfortunately this packaging is tempered by her shy nature, timid and without confidence in most of her abilities. She prefers neutral colors in her choices of clothing, blues and whites and greys, and prefers to stay in the background as much as possible.
