Anwel then goes to see Oleg. "Before we go," he says, a little hesitantly, "I was wondering if the surveying equipment I had ordered came in? I am afraid I have exactly as much to pay you with as when we left, what with Brevoy paying us such a grotesquely large salary," Anwel smiles at what is becoming a well-worn joke, "but if they are here, perhaps we could have them on credit? The western Narlmarches are all but unmapped even by the standards of the Stolen Lands, and I would hate to lose the opportunity."

Oleg slaps his hand to his thigh. "I'd nearly forgotten." He disappears into the house only to reappear a few minutes later with a cloth wrapped package. The outer wrapping a stained and even torn in a couple of places, but otherwise seems intact. He says with a nod toward Warren and Thad, "Thanks, to those folk a bit of our last shipment made it through. Apparently some critter of the Stag Lord had waylaid the wagon and killed most of the guards. They drove the beast off and salvaged what they could. Your package happened to survive all the trouble."

He hands the equipment over and waves off Anwel's concern over payment, "No need to worry, friend. Your credit is good with me after all you and the others have done these last few weeks."

With that he hurries back into the house after Svetlana calls his name in a loud slightly exasperated tone. "Ooops. Forgot I was supposed to be helping with cider kegs."

Hearing the questions around Happs demise, Oleg pipes in, "Aye, he apparently didn't learn his lesson the first time around."

"He ran off shortly after you lot left. He didn't cause any more harm here, but he met his final end when he took on these folk as they traveled south. Judging from the tale they tell, he managed to round up some reinforcements in the process."

His eyes flick toward the gate as he continues, "The others you left behind met their maker as well. But they stayed true to their word. They were killed during the first day of the small siege we suffered. Their own fellows arrows took 'em while they stood the wall trying to keep them scoundrels from gettin' in."

With a slight shake of his head he grabs a chunk of cheese, "Course most of those men ended up seeing the light after their leader was killed. Another nasty bit o' work he was. But then Warren and Thad there could tell you more I'm sure."

Popping the cheese in his mouth he grabs a pitcher and pours a pint of ale for himself and anyone else who seems thirsty.

A puff of breath escapes Oleg's lips as Gorax's strong arms cause the smaller man to lurch to one side slightly. Shaking his head at the other man's strength, Oleg smiles and says, "Yes, things have changed a bit since you lot were through."

He gestures toward those gathering around the table. "Most of these folks are settlers planning to try their luck down here in the south. Good hard workin' folk looking to make a new start in this wild country." With a nod toward Thad and Warren he adds,"And of course the good warriors who got 'em this far safe and sound."

"We've also acquired a few more reformed bandits captured by Master's Thad and Warren and their companions." He points to a group of men heading back out the gate. Three of the men have the most outrageously colored hair ranging from a bright hot pink to aqua blue.

"So far this lot has stuck it out unlike that Happs fellow." He shakes his head slightly at the mention of the former bandit. "Of course I guess he got what was comin' to him in the end."

With Warren and Kams scouting the area, Oleg walks over to Thad as the more obviously military and authoritative of the group. Shooting a glance at the shed holding the captured bandits he asks, "What's your plan regarding that bunch in there? I can't say I'd be sorry to see 'em hang."

"Kesten?! He's back already? We just hosted his lot a bit ago. Usually his crew doesn't come but once a month. I'll be sure to have Svetlana set out a pitcher of the dark ale."

The guard takes Thad's charter. After a few seconds he shouts up to Oleg that all seems to be in order. Listening to Tityanna, Oleg blushes just a little as he realizes that both she and Thad suffer from wounds. Somewhat embarrassed at his earlier words he calls down to the guard.

"If all's in order, open the gate Amos and let these folk through."

Taking off his helm, he offers a slight bow of the head to both Tityanna and Thad, "My apologies sir, madam. I didn't mean to come across as ungrateful for your help and unsympathetic to your own injuries. But as you can certainly see, we've had a bit of a rough go around here recently."

"You'll forgive me if I ask to see one of these charters before I open my gate." Replies the gray beard to Thad. He motions to the guard next to him who disappears behind the wall. A few seconds later a small slot open in the gate with the man's face peering through. Calling down from above, the old man says, "Just pass your paper to Amos there and we'll see if it's legit or not."
