This thread a TANGENT to the Character-customization thread as this thread aims at the METHODS that'll be used for Character customization, NOT the options themselves.
I'm wondering how Goblin works plans to do Character customization; will they go for the Swap the Character Model (or parts of the model),
Vertex Displacement (Morphing) using something like Mega-Fiers, or a create a hybrid of the two where certain parts are swapped and others are morphed.
Now I know each one has Pros and Cons in implementation, performance, and work required. But each answer gives a different degree of customisation options per amount of work.
I know the swap the model (or it's parts) is the easiest one to execute on, likely has the least work, and has the best performance.
But each piece of work done has the least customisation value.
Where as *Morph based customisation is not the easiest to execute, has a load of work, and eats into cycles to render,
but each piece or morph added increases customisation value in a near exponential value, as each morph can be added to another morph on top of the base model.
*Exclude the hair as that will likely be a swappable part.
A hybrid of the two would not be half bad but could cause some headaches in that a morph might cause the appearance of the seems to appear on the character.
Now I know I would perfer a morph based character system. (There are MMO's and ORPGs that do use morph based characters)
But I'm also realistic in that I know some players will go hog wild on the morphs for a perfect look and the character will eat so many cycles to render that it'll slow to a crawl,
So a system should be in place to limit the number of morphs used on the body and the head.
A good method I could think of is a cartesian plane where X and Y both equal a morph selected by the player,
with 0 on the axis equaling 0 percent of the morph, and 100 on the axis equaling 100% of the morph.
This way only two morphs get blended on the body and or head for everyone, and everyone has equal render cycle time.
Now I do think Goblin Works should release a demo Character Creator like the one for Dragon Age: Origin (Model Swap method) or Phantasy Star Online 2 (Morph based) as this will be the front door to Pathfinder Online and it should be polished like crazy and the feedback on the character editor will be of extreme value for the final version of the character creation system. This will also allow players a chance to make the character before Pathfinder Online launches and have it ready for when they do join the Game.

At the edge of the Worldwound, overlooking the
Bitter River, stands Clydwell Keep, a fortress of
light on the border of a blighted land. For more
than a century, holy champions from all corners
of the known world have taken up the crusade
against Abyssal monstrosities lurking within the
Worldwound. The blood of countless martyrs and
crusaders anoints the stones of this legendary

by continually providing two important
commodities: weapons capable of slaying
demons and the soldiers to use them.
Tomorrow marks an important occasion in

zealots, and other invitees gather from far and
wide to witness the ceremony, a renewal of

Hello Everyone,
We at RHMG are looking for ideas for a few short video demos that will be done in 3D and or 2D.
(Short being 15 to 30 seconds, with a minute being an absolute maximum)
It could be;
a creepy abandoned farm with evil chasing a victim, Note the image is a very early concept of it, and subject to changes.
A Hospital with a nurse helping a patient,
A camping trip in the woods ... etc
Our Current in production series shows we can do it and are looking for your suggestions.
Every suggestion will be considered for becoming a video demo and may get selected,
But I can not guarantee all the ideas will be turned into a video demo as we'll only be able select about 10 to 20 ideas.

The ramshackle town of Falcon’s Hollow rests
perilously close to the infamous Darkmoon
Vale. The jagged shadow of nearby mountains
casts a shroud of gloom on the desperate souls
who call this place home. Many are drawn here
to make their fortune cutting a swath of darkwood
lumber through the lush forests of the
vale. Others journey to these remote fringes to
start over, piecing together their shattered lives
on the edge of an untouched wilderness far
from the things of man. Persecuted zealots and
outcasts flock to Falcon’s Hollow. Here, these
fanatics practice their strange and often deviant
rites unfettered by the mores of civilization.
Still others are lured to Falcon’s Hollow by the
promise of great adventure. Peril and splendor
await within the accursed halls of dwarven
kings of old, whose glorious civilization long
ago shattered and crumbled to dust.
Little did the people of Falcon's Hollow know that a problem would a rise and require heroes.
Would they be Triumphant Heroes or Defeated and Dead?
And this is their story.

I'll add a Gary Gygax piece,
A few recipe books.

A leaning monument to the district’s pain,
this four-story courthouse is a crumbling
marvel of cracked plaster and chipped
marble. Once a testament to justice wrought
in shining white stone, the courthouse is
now a crushed dream, its wretched exterior
corrupted by a bloated evil festering within.
Rainwater from a recent downpour mixed
with mulch oozes from ruptures in the
rock like pus bubbling from a wound. The
structure of the eastern wing of the upper
floor buckled long ago, and now the bell tower
tilts perilously, appearing as though it might
careen to the ground below at any moment.
Two massive pillars frame the heavy oak
doors of the court. The pillars’ surfaces run
with cracks and fissures like so many burst
veins. The doors sag in their archway like the
drooping eyes of a madman. The surrounding
structures long ago fell in upon themselves
in supplication to the creaking courthouse.
A salt wind blows up the precipice and
rakes across the tangled weeds of Beldrin’s
Bluff. The whole building groans as the wind
blows, its tortured lamentation fading to a
rasping hiss as the wind ebbs. This croaking
murmur never completely fades away. The sun
sets in the west, the last slivers of twilight
painting the courthouse blood red as darkness
creeps closer.
Some players will receive a PM of a vision

East-River is on the Eastern bank of the river Chrono, and south of it a much smaller river. South along the river is Twilight Lake and north following the river is Coite-Bodher Fortress and farther up river is Arche Koeln Falls.
You all have left a nearby town/village/hamlet due to a raid on it. You have made your way to East River. East River and it's farms are surrounded by 10ft high fence and has 3 gates, one in the West, one in the North, and one on the southern side that leads to the docks. The Village has a Bar and Inn (The Dragon's Horde), a blacksmith, tanner, and the necessities. But inside you can see a small section of the town has been on fire and was burnt to the ground.
Where do you start in town?
Nor-Ham is to the East of the Western mountains, and south of the Keel Mountains. This is the closest town to both mountain ranges and is the last town before entering the only paths through both mountain ranges for over a 200 kilometers.

Nor-Ham is surrounded by 10ft high fence and has 3 gates, one in the west, one in the south, and one on the eastern side. The Hamlet has a Bar and Inn (The Drunken Lass), a blacksmith, tanner, and the necessities. But inside you can see a small section of the town has been on fire and was burnt to the ground.
Where do you start in town?
As your traveling you come across a town with 12ft high wooden walls and with north and south gates.
When you pass through the town's gates you see. In the North west corner the Frozen A**, the south east corner has the BLT, the north east has the Pwn Shop. The town's centre has no buildings, but looks like space reserved for events and in summer used as a open market space for merchants.
The Frozen A**, Inn and Bar is the local pub and also has 2 small outdoor hot springs that are fenced. The Pwn Shop is a local General store and Pawn shop. There is a local blacksmith, lumber and tannery known as BLT.

I am going to start two games (one has
become already filled) as soon as the
next "paizo" package is shipped and
delivered. I'll let the players decide
on which one they want (though it'll
have to be level 3 start or lower).
Module list:
Into the Haunted Forest
Hangman's Noose
Crypt of the Everflame
The Godsmouth Heresy
Or I run a homebrew world*.
*The homebrew game world removes some races from playability,
but adds racial templates into play. And I'll fill you in on the
world you'll be playing in.
I do focus more on RP than combat
(not my best RP interactions of NPCs, but still a good sample)
(before they leave town)
Azure Zero's Hollows last hope
Note, I do allow you to romance any single NPC (or PC provided they don't mind), though you could try to romance a married one, but you'd have to be careful.
NPC's are recruitable.
I require players to post ATLEAST once a day (weekends not required, but I still check it) if a player does not post in a day while combat is going, they will miss their turn (I do this even for table-top, except you got 15 seconds to lay down your actions, before I go to the next player)

Add-ons
->Add feat and weapon: Jovian and the Arms and Equipments Guide's "Full Blade."
->This will be decided on by vote, if I add the "Paradox Character Add-on"** which can make for more powerful characters, or weaker ones pending on the match of your choices, and base character build.
**Note the "Paradox Character Add-on" is give and take.
Before we play I'll let you all RP together in a mini RP tavern and get a feel the characters, players and for which group you'd like to be in.
Let the Recruiting begin
if you have a question ask please.

Sorry for the rant, but I need to rant this.
I applied to 8 games that had limited slots over 3 weeks and get 0 bites, I only got in one with limited slots because a player left the game unannounced one week later. And I am grateful for the DM giving me that chance to play.
I am willing to bet there are others like me that want to play but can't because of not being accepted into any games.
But I mean, is their a subconscious bias or something against certain players. I say, let those who have very few character aliases have a freaking chance. By giving them a little more thought in your player selection decisions or opening/reserving a slot for those with few character aliases. And when I say few character aliases, I am also including PFS alias characters in the alias list.
Because there is most likely a good number of players out there that want to play, but always get left out. Unless by chance an opening opens up and are notified of it. They are stuck without a game and will in some way feel either disappointed, shunned, or cast as an outsider in the worst case.
I would appreciate it, if ALL DM's took this under advisement.
Now I do realize that some players that have few alias will be jerks and are going to use this as a free pass, because they drop out unannounced a week later or just to grief a game in some way. So I would then recommend that a thread be made that reports on players who leave unannounced, have very bad behavior in the game or are griefing the game a lot.
I look forward to hearing from DMs on this proposal, both good and bad as both sides of the coin need to be present to understand the good and the bad of this proposal.
Perched at the edge of civilized lands, the small
town of Falcon’s Hollow has always had to
rely on itself to solve its problems. Meanwhile,
the uncaring lumber barons squeeze the common

heard throughout town. The plague has come
to Falcon’s Hollow and the town’s leaders can’t
be bothered to stop it.

Hi, I have been on these boards for a while and would like to try my hand at PBP, but I see that most PBP recruitment threads fill up quickly and the novices have a low chance to get in and depending persona; nervous to join a game or even worried about accidentally doing something rude (my personal POV). I have selected "Hollow Last Hope" as it is the smallest Module I know and would be a good starting point.
This PBP is for Novices (that in my books is those with 0 to 4* aliases, or whom have more than 4 aliases, but none are heavily used)
*(I may increase this later)
The party limit is 5, these 5 will be decided by Vote.
Recruitment closes in a weeks time.
I have in real life played as both GM (95% of the time) and Player, so I do not mind running it, but would prefer a chance as player.
GM
Base creation rules:
Stats: 20-point Buy (locked, as it has similar results to my own 16-point buy system)
Traits: None (or if another takes the rains can modify this)
Sources allowed: Core Rule Book, and Other Paizo Material (this requires approval) or if another takes the rains can modify this
Starting Cash: Max (or if another takes the rains can modify this)
Character Background: Ideal, if none I'll assume your a resident of Falcon's Hollow, with a job that best matches your profession/class and that is it.
Must be willing to post at least once a day for 5 days out of the week. (Weekends, I work and am working on a fan made Pathfinder Computer game)
Add-ons (Only Applied if I GM)
->Add feat: Jovian and the Arms and Equipments Guide's "Full Blade."
->This will be decided on by vote, if I add the "Paradox Character Add-on"** which can make for more powerful characters, or weaker ones pending on the match of your choices, and base character build.
**Note the "Paradox Character Add-on" is give and take.

Even through the name of the book will be subject to change I would like to see peoples wish list for the "Ultimate Races" book, here is my wish list:
New PC races, that are correctly named and based on folklore from their source (evil glare at 4 PC races in Bestiary 2, for incorrect name to folklore creature) and are properly CR'ed (same glare at same races) and don't have anything that gives them a 3.5 favored class system feeling type ability (read below), If the race is not based on folklore, please do not take it's name from another creature of folklore.
Remade Ifrit, Oread, Sylph, Undine, because when compared to assimar and teifling their under powered for the same CR and the Element Affinity FEELs like it takes up most of the CR AND sorcerer is it's favored class (in the 3.5 favored class system sense).
I would like to see racial options (racial ability swap outs, favored class) like in APG and Racial feats for almost all the PC races found in all previous materials.
Something for non-AP Pathfinders is to include the custom tiefling material in Council of Theives: Bastards of Erebus and also compliment it with custom assimar material and or other touched races (Ifrit, Oread, Sylph, Undine, and Changeling)
I would like to see racial subs for classes (these can be minor).
If Heritor Feats are made even better. (Think Complete Mage or Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss (most prefered version)). But if you do make the Heritor Feats, I would like a certain hierarchy in it's design to prevent power gaming and define the bloodline of the heritage.
An example of this hierarchy is a character can select ONE specific base Heritor Feat (i.e. Succubus Heritor, Nymph Heritor, or Deva Heritor) that requires being taken at first level only that base Heritor Feat allows access to a specific general pool of Heritor Feats (i.e. Demon feats, Fey feats, Angel feats) and it's own specific Heritor Feats (i.e. Succubus kiss, Nymph's grace, Deva Stun).

I was wondering if anyone would like to see 3D character visualization software made, one where you can not only customize the face, but the body as well and then print it out or save the data for later. I know hero machine is O.k.. But it is 2D and has no customization in the body of the character.
If the answer is yes, I may make the software and the models for it. The first release will be limited in terms of material and will be looking for feedback on the software and models. But it'll take time as I will have to make the program, the base 3D body models for each gender and each gender's body types as defined in Sheldon's body types and with farther customization available on certain body parts. As well as the props, clothing, armour and the UV texture maps for all the models.
So let me hear your thoughts on this, and pending the answers I may proceed with making the software.
