About Myrsandrys of the SnowsMyrsandrys (or "Mercy" to her friends) is a snow elf from the northern frostfell on a distant continent. Because that bleak land is bathed in darkness for so much of the time, Mercy devoted herself to Pelor, the sun god, early in life, a gesture to invite hope and sustanence for her and her people. As she grew older, she felt the calling to do more than merely pray for the sun, but to bring the sun to the lives and hearts of all people, driving back the darkness and the evil things that dwelt within. So she set out on adventure in search of the places where the sun rises, that she might bring the light of Pelor to the unseeing, and the places where the sun sleeps, that she might protect the innocent from the dangers of the dark. As resources are scarce in the frozen wastes, and her tribe's numbers are dwindling, a small expedition force was put together to explore other continents in the interest of establishing trade relations, learning more about their neighbors in the world, and possibly locating new settlements that might offer more food and resources for the survival of the tribe. Mercy secured a place on one of those expeditions, which has brought her to the shores of a distant fertile continent known as Azemja, which she quickly learned has dangers and intrigues of its own. And thus, her story begins ... .

Dreamhide Type: light; Armor bonus +4; Max Dex bonus +5; ACP -1; Speed 30; Wt 20 Dreamhide is crafted by the Drow in the Underdark and is made from the hides of Dream Serpents. It is light armor, but as protective as some medium armors. It is non-magical, but can be enchanted like any armor. It is usually awarded to successful drow hunters, but Mercy earned her set when she came to the aid of dwarven miners who were about to be ambushed by a small drow party. Her aid gave the dwarves the victory, and they thanked her by offering her the armor the stripped from the one drow they managed to capture alive (whether he remained that for long is anyone's guess), especially since the slender armor was more suited to her lithe elven physique than to the squat and stout stature of a dwarf. *Note to DM - there is nothing special about the armor, I just thought it would make for a cool chapter in her backstory. See the Eberron: Secrets of Xen'drik sourcebook for information on Dreamhide armor.
Other equipment
Spoiler:
Gold: 116 gp Hide armor (left back at living quarters) *Ceremonial leather armor (for affairs of state, not for battle - see below) Adventurer's pack (backpack, rope, bedroll, etc.) Elven Mirror of Communication (allows long-distance communication between the user and any other elf possessing the same type of device) The ceremonial armor of the Snow Elves is purely ornamental and offers bare minimal protection at best. For males, this armor consists of cloth leggings and sleeves sewn into an ornamentally armored bodice. For females, the sleeves are similar in design to the male armor, but below the waste, the armored bodice is affixed to a gown. The bodices are either etched or stitched with the Queen's official coat of arms, which resembles a wolf's head emblazoned over crossed icicles. For warriors and rangers of court, paladins and knights, this is the official garb of court. The different stations are noted by the type of material the bodice is made of, and the color scheme. The Queen's warriors occupy the lowest station in the court, and their bodices are made of padded leather, dyed black with the crest stitched in silver thread, with silver sleeves and pants/skirts. The next station is the queen's rangers, and their bodices are made of hard-boiled leather dyed russet with the crest stitched in gold thread, with green sleeves and pants/skirts. Paladins are the third fighting rank in the court, and their bodice is also of boiled leather, bleached white, with the crest etched in with silver filagree, with silver sleeves and pants/skirts. The Knights are the newest and highest fighting order in the court, and their bodices are made of rare darkwood, with the crest hammered in bas relief into gold plate that is set into the wood, with sleeves and pants of gold. Ceremonial armor provides the protection of padded, leather or wooden armor, but only to the area of the torso.

Myrsandrys "Mercy" of the Snows is an odd, but extraordinarily beautiful and ethereal creature to behold. She is tall and slender with long white hair that is gathered into a ponytail in the back, but left loose to the wind at her temples. Her skin is very pale, but perhaps her most striking feature is her eyes - from a distance, her eyes appear pure white, but a close examination will show that her irises are almost colorless, a feature the snow elves evolved to help reflect the light and thus protect themselves from the harsh glare of the infrequent sunlight off the glaciers and new-fallen snow of their frozen homeland. To those who are unfamiliar with the ice tribes, her people are often confused for undead, such as ghosts or vampires.
Mercy is clad in black Dreamhide armor that she claimed from a fallen drow opponent (in natural form, Dreamhide is green and silver, but the drow armorers often dye it black to conceal their hunters in the dark environs they inhabit), a close, form-fitting body armor that fits almost like a second skin and shimmers with fluid reptilian scales. |
