About Mugwort

Mugwort was raised in the metropolis of Urgir, the offspring of an orc warrior father and a human slave mother. He never knew his father. From his earliest recollection, he observed how poorly and harshly his mother and others less fortunate were beat down by their masters. A burning sense of justice and revenge began to grow.

Growing up, he was scorned by many of his childhood peers because of his mixed parentage. Name-calling would inevitably lead to punches being thrown. More often than not, Mugwort would end up the loser.

As a young child, Mugwort's master apprenticed him to a local orc blacksmith named Bogrum, who specialized in making armor for those who followed the ways of Gorum. He reluctantly took to child on but figured that the free labor was worth the inconvenience. Over time, the child developed aptitude in the creation of armor and begrudgingly, Bogrum developed a fondness for the child and allowed him more freedom to create pieces of armor.

The pivotal point in Mugwort's life was during his 17th summer when he witnessed his mother and another slave beaten to death by one of his master's guards. Years of pent up aggression welled inside Mugwort and he snapped. Grabbing a nearby spade, he savagely beat the guard to death. After the blood lust subsided, he ran to the only place he knew he could, to Bogrum. His mentor knew that the young half-orc would be put to death if caught, so he gave Mugwort a few supplies and told him to run as far away from Urgir as he could.

His travels took him from settlement to settlement. He would try to find work repairing armor in order to survive. He began to hear stories of the kingdom of Andoran and of the tenets that their people lived by. He wanted to be a weapon in the war against slavery and oppression. He began to make his way to the capital city of Almas to see if he could somehow join like-minded individuals. Here is where he learned the basics of combat and was eventually recruited by the Pathfinder Society.
