Taking Gunnom's first hit, Misthing taunts her attacker, "Hah!" and then immediately takes a second punishing blow, "Oof!"

The feeble attack swishes past Gunnom's face, but fails to connect, and she completes a graceful spiral to the ground, where she lies like a sack of potatoes.

Ah, thanks for letting me stand one round longer...

That was my plan all along! Yeah, that's the ticket... :) It has been funny that we've both been one lucky punch away from unconscious for a couple of rounds now.

Frustrated at her lack of whatever the heck it was she tried to do during her attack of opportunity, Misthing launches an unartful right hook at Gunnom's jaw.

"ANGRY MONKEY FLINGS POO!" she shouts, having apparently forgotten what school she goes to now...

that AoO from the AoO-Grapple be not before the actual AoO-Grapple? That would be weird...

Yup. You could attempt to Trip, and I could counter with a Trip, and if I succeeded, I'd prevent your Trip from ever happening. If we both had Combat Reflexes and Dex 16, we could continue into a chain of eight total AoOs triggered by that, and people would definitely think we were dancing...

Hu? Attempting to grapple is a standard action... So can you make a maneuver instead of an AoO? Would I get an AoO if you would not have Improved Grapple?

In 3.5, you can attempt a grapple/trip/disarm as an AoO. I'm not clear on whether you can in Pathfinder... But yeah, it should provoke a followup AoO from you as well.

From the looks of it, Grapple (and Bull Rush, Charge and Overrun) is a standard action, while Disarm, Sunder and Trip are 'attack actions.' While it doesn't really say this anywhere, it seems that the intent would be that one could take an 'attack action' as an Attack of Opportunity, but not a standard action maneuver. So yeah, looks like I did something un-doable, in addition to sucking at it.

Grapple attempt (CMB +4 against target 18). I get a 13. I'm thinking that special maneuvers are for the birds... DC 15 + CMB? Yuk.

Misthing staggers a bit, probably off-balance because of her silly posturing, and retaliates with an identical Flurry.

"NOISY CRICKET HITS TWO TIMES!" she says, attempting to double-punch Gunnom with both fists simultaneously.

Flurry of Swish, no hits.

She skips the dance-off routine this time. Now that she's been hurt, she's lost track of what her next move should have been...

With the -2 for Flurry, should would have needed to roll 15s to hit, which gave her two 30% chances to hit, instead of one 40% chance to hit if she'd taken a single attack. I never really thought about the math before, but Flurrying kinda makes sense, I guess.

Misthing steps back into H7, then H6, then up the stairs (I5, costs double), then into J6, from which she launches a single punch at Gunnorm's kidney.

"BLOW TO THE 'EAD!" she shouts, with no apparent regard for how that isn't even close to what she's actually doing...

Whether she connects or not, she pulls her fist back and goes into a freaky dance pose, standing on one leg with her hands up in the air and facing away from the sides of her face like antlers or the branches of a tree.

Misthing sees the table come crashing down towards her and retaliates with a Flurry of Blows at Gunnorms leg.

Hearing Gunnorm speaking so familiarly about Lil' Jakie, Misthing is incensed.

"Back off, skank! Dance wif your own date!"

She seems to have completely forgotten that this was a martial arts competition and not a school dance...

Misthing moves quickly to the table at the intersection of H7 and I8, smacks her meaty hands down on it and attempts to flip up into a handstand, over the rail and onto the table at J7.

Option 1 -> If successful, she strikes a pose. Possibly a martial arts pose. Possibly she still thinks this is a dance off...

"Come dance wif me, honey." she growls to the other half-orc female.

Option 2 -> If unsuccessful, it's really embarassing and she's gonna flip out and kill all of the witnesses. She'll save anyone who laughs for last...

"Then I flip over table, and grab one of them, and slam him down on table leg, pinning him like bug!" Misthing enthuses to her short companion, hands waving as she 'describes' the scene, voiced raised to unseemly levels as she gets all excited for the upcoming battle.

"Is clever, yes? Breaking hands and feet take too long." she says, nodding sagely at her own counsel.

They've almost reached the bar, but it looks like the others got there first. Her face falls into a comically-exaggerated look of woe. "Me sorry if me slow you down, little foot."
