Mirathan hurries to the commotion.
All I have is a trident, net, and dagger. No 'smashy' things either.

"Ready?" Ready, Water Lord. *Kaelar begins to chant again, and as before, the needle is barely felt. Slowly the trident and eel take form. When the tattoo is finished, The Bard stretches and dabs the ink.*
"There you go. I put a little extra magic in both the tattoos, just wait until you go back into the water!"
When they return to the water, the tattoos will move as if alive. Thank you.
Mirathan tries out the new land legs.
The Bard wrote: Nimora Orlbereth wrote: "I is being thank you, Kaelar," Nimora says with a smile as she sits in the chair. She is very interested in watching what he does. *As The Bard begins to aplly the ink, quitely chants in Aquan. Nimora barely feels the sting of the neddle as it peirces her skin. Light-blue energy seems to flow into the waterlily as it takes form. After an hour of unbroken concentration, Kaelar leans back and sighs.*
"There you go Nimora, a beautiful waterlily. Pretty good for my first try, huh?"
*He turns to Mirathan.*
"Ready?" Ready, Water Lord.
The Bard wrote: Sorry for the delay RL game last night.
"I believe I have solved your land/water problem. Taking Pearls of the Sirens, I reversed their properties, allowing water breathers to walk and breath on land with ease. Then, to prevent theft, I crushed them into a fine powder and mix them with ink. Hence this needle. I'm afraid the tattooing process will sting a little bit, but you can get these kind wet right after they are applicated. Just tell me what you want your tattoo to depict and we'll be done soon."
An electric eel coiled around a trident would be great. Thank you.
The Bard wrote: *The Bard has walked out of his forge, and now stand right outside it, holding a needle of some sort.*
"Mirathan, Nimora? Could come over here for a moment please?"
Certainly, Water Champion.

Hey, I appreciate the thought, man. I've got a sinking feeling I may need that net in a few seconds here anyway... That's what you get. David starts her off as the Seductress then she gets changed. I could always bring back El-Lina for you, but she is kind of a Black Widow/Preying Mantis... Hey now :) I'm doing my best to portray her consistently with how David set her up. It's not my fault he made a confusing character ;) Yeah he did. Good luck. :)

Strange. It would be like me trying to tickle you on land, and us chasing each other. Strange.
Mirathan swims off to leave the 'weirdos' alone, and stays below water to avoid the other weirdo that speaks of shrooms all the time. He leaves his net behind, should Devlyn change his mind. Nimora shakes her head and follows. She too thought the landwalkers had strange customs, but Mirathan seemed to be a very slow study indeed when it came to understanding them. All that time spent on the rock outcropping as a Watcher has left Mirathan a bit out of touch. ;)
Nimora Orlbereth wrote: Mirathan wrote: Mirathan stares at the strange landwalker ritual.

Nimora laughs at this.
Aquan: Sometimes, my friend, it is all about the chase, she says with an amused twinkle in her eye. We should leave them to their play. Strange. It would be like me trying to tickle you on land, and us chasing each other. Strange.

despite the avatar. few choices there. I was thinking about something to help in those areas too. Anything to help them out away from water. shoes? those pebbles get stuck btwn their webbed toes. not exactly sure what Nymora's legs/feet look like.
We can breathe out of water, but just have trouble walking and dealing with dry skin.
despite the avatar. few choices there.
This should be interesting...
Many distractions these days...grinning, Mirathan tries to attach a lobster to Nimora's net for Ethelbert to spot later.
Mirathan dives out of the way of the human boulder.
Why do you landwalkers insist on making so much noise when you swim?!

The goblin sings rather tunelessly as it splashes.
Mirathan jabs the goblin with his trident.
Hey! Some of us breathe this water.

What would the Indian/Eskimo name be for Broken Eel? Of course they have medication to help with that. ;)
Mirathan chuckles.
*In Aquaan to Nimora* This one cheats. She has webbing so that she might outswim the other, and distracts him by swimming au naturale.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled shenanigans: :P
Dawn comes once again to the Oasis...
After helping set up precautions against unwanted visitors through the water portal last night, Devlyn caught some shut-eye near the pool. He gets up with the sun and does some weapon practice, then dives in the pool to clear his mind and relax. This one swims better than most, but the land-walkers sure make a lot of noise when they swim.
I owe that much to one brave enough to take on that monster, and skilled enough to best it.
Mirathan examines the scars from his ordeal with disbelief
Thank you Mistress Sirone.
He continues...
And sharks don't ram small prey, let alone toy with it...They always eat...
More questions without answers.
Takes his trident from Nimora with a bow of his head.
Thank you.
I'm not really sure what happened. I was testing LJ's amulet and spotted a salt water fish in the fresh water side. Since it was a rare species I tried to help it. As soon as I got it to safety I get smacked in the back by the shark. They never attack like that, that I know of. Since I couldn't move I could only watch as it began toying with me, cutting and biting...
How did you get me, or my body, out of it's stomach?
Sirone, Mistress of the Waves wrote: Nimora Orlbereth wrote: Nimora screams as she sees Mirathan's body. She tries to help him, but he is beyond help. She turns to the lady of this place, all attempts at speaking in common forgotten and says in Aquaan,
"If there is anything you can do for him, then do it. Otherwise I will attend to the burial when I return."
She picks up her trident and dives deep into the pool looking for whatever creature killed Mirathan. "I shall try," Sirone says. She waves her hands over the body and mumbles some words in a language that was ancient at the founding of the world. Finally she finishes. "I have done all I can, the rest is up to him." If E7 wants Mirathan to wake up, he will. Otherwise, his spirit has chosen not to return. His last thought was about the large shark Mirathan awakens from the sleep of death...
Watch out!
Err...Where am I?
The beast charges. It is larger and faster than Nimora realized. Time seems to slow. She sees the lifeless black of its eyes, contrasted by the white of its enormous teeth. Inbedded in those teeth she sees bits of Mirathan's blue flesh.
The mouth is also a lot bigger than she expects. Where she expected to dodge and strike the side she is barely able to avoid being swallowed whole. This beast could have easily swallowed Mirathan, and no one would have known. She pierces the inside of the beast's mouth, losing her trident in the process, and scrapes her skin against its as she dodges. The stupid beast clamps down on the weapon, driving into its own brain.
Nimora follows the beast to the bottom as it goes thru its death throes. She sees Mirathan's trident on the sea floor as she waits to retrieve her own.
Nimora dives deep and comes to the barrier that separates fresh from sea. Swimming thru it she sees a large shark swimming in the area, searching the blood-stained water for the prey that should be here. The beast's teeth match the wounds on Mirathan.
The beast turns to Nimora, gaining speed and opening its large mouth.
Mirathan swims deep and spots an odd fish. A rare sea species. Why is it here in the fresh water? It begins to thrash in the new environment. He grabs it in his net and hastily takes it back thru the gate to the sea realm.
As soon as he frees the creature he is attacked by a greak white shark. Instead of being engulfed or bitten he is rammed in the back, breaking his spine.
How odd he thinks, as he sinks. The shark moves in for the kill.
Mirathan's lifeless body floats back thru the portal and up to the surface of the Oasis pond.
Swims around the Oasis trying out the new amulet.
It's so much easier to see in the still water. The sea is always churning things up.

Nimora, have you been taught the trident dance? If so, we could demonstrate for the land dwellers. Martial dance Oooh, yes. This one is being my favorite.
She isn't kidding. She's obviously practiced this dance a lot. Then let us have at it. Salt versus Fresh!
Mirathan will start off slow and escalate as Nimora keeps up. First the deep dive, then the whirlpool, and finally a series of intricate strikes and counterstrikes as they rapidly rise to the surface in their mock deadly ballet. Soon she surpasses him. They end by flying out of the water and crossing tridents. Nimora inflicts the killing strike, and Mirathan falls back into the water. She flips twice in mid-air and spins as she follows.
Very good! I obviously need more practice.

This water is very calm. Dancing among the waves on the open sea is a sight to behold.
I am far from a good dancer among my people, but I am willing to try.
The Dalesman wrote: Nimora Orlbereth wrote: Nimora blushes. Please be forgiving me for such clumsy. I is being grateful for your helping. It is better keep talking in common. I be needing more practicing. Switching back to common with a smile:
"No problem ma'am, and you're welcome."
Looks to the elf she was dancing with, as he guides her back toward him:
"Apologies for the cut-in, sir. Just didn't want her getting hurt. Don't let her get away again, neh?" he says with a wink and a good-natured chuckle. Mirathan tries to take her hand and promptly falls on his butt. His skin darkens in what seems to be a blush.
This is harder than it looks.

So the Seas can't be arrogant and tempermental? And wrong?
Ignore the Mirathan entries. The Seas needed to be convinced is all. I launched him 3 days ago to get someone on board, and that's been done. As for the size, the Emperor pointed out the Earth's role to 'bind' (shape)them some time ago.
The voice continues. It carries with it feelings of vastness.
What cares the Seas of the machinations of air-breathers? Our waters are vast. Evil can only breathe here if we let it.
The Earth is small. The Sea is larger. The Winds are larger.

Eeeawwwrk! At his post on the oh-so-dry rock outcropping Mirathan feels the breezes and the call within them. He dives into the ocean to tell his masters. Long have the Wind and Sea been allies. Returning to the surface Mirathan touches the amulet given to him by the Sirens of the Sea. Rain begins to fall over the Place of Winds, and a voice is heard in the patter of raindrops.
What troubles the land of the surface-dwellers? Our Seas are calm.
