Thanks for your interest in PFS at Origins. We are indeed running those two different Playtests. Currently I do not have any information on any rewards related to these adventures. PFS Playtest Scenario #1: The Rose Street Revenge (Level 1 characters provided) is a 5 hour adventure run by Paizo staff. Pathfinder Playtest Demo (Level 1 characters provided) is a 2 hour demo run by a couple Paizo staffers and a handful of my Origins GMs.
As Luke mentioned, there are 13 regular slots. However for Demos, we are only running them for a total of 8 slots on a slightly different time schedule. Check in will be Wednesday afternoon and checkout Sunday morning. There are a couple people who come in early on Tuesday night and pay for a room at the Hyatt. We can work to connect anyone who does come in early and try and get folks the same room at the Hyatt for the rest of Origins. PFS 8-99C will be Friday night and SFS 1-99 Saturday night.
GM registration for Origins 2016 is live! Please go to Origins GM Application to sign up. 4 GM slots will earn you a badge while 7 GM slots will earn you a badge and 1/4 hotel room or a parking pass. Origins is taking place Wednesday June 15th through Sunday June 19th. We've worked hard on the schedule to provide both current and core campaign options and plumbed the depths of the scenario catalog from season 0 through 7 to find the best that society has to offer! We are planning to run over 300 table featuring Scenarios, Modules, and APs and we want you! (to GM) Volunteer Reward Tiers: Tier 10 Room - GM Badge, 1/4 Hotel Room, GM Boon, Copy of All Players Boons

Kevin is correct about the hall closing earlier. 8pm is when the booths are to close so the ACG will have a last time slot of 6pm on those days. The PFS room is in the Hyatt so we are under no time restraints. As for Midnight Mirror, that should be a double slot event. We will look into that and get it corrected. Please see below for the ACG slots. There will be 5 tables with 1 set aside for demos. Slot 1: Wednesday 10:00am Slot 2: Wednesday 12:00pm Slot 3: Wednesday 2:00pm Slot 4: Wednesday 4:00pm Slot 5: Wednesday 6:00pm Slot 6: Thursday 10:00am Slot 7: Thursday 12:00pm Slot 8: Thursday 2:00pm Slot 9: Thursday 4:00pm Slot 10: Thursday 6:00pm Slot 11: Friday 10:00am Slot 12: Friday 12:00pm Slot 13: Friday 2:00pm Slot 14: Friday 4:00pm Slot 15: Friday 6:00pm Slot 16: Saturday 10:00am Slot 17: Saturday 12:00pm Slot 18: Saturday 2:00pm Slot 19: Saturday 4:00pm Slot 20: Saturday 6:00pm Slot 21: Sunday 10:00am Slot 22: Sunday 12:00pm
Both myself and my VL Luke Woods have gone over the schedule to make sure everything is in order. There are a few corrections that GAMA needs to make but otherwise it is correct. We went with anything season 3 and earlier and made it 4 players per table to help provide more of a challenge to those scenarios. It also gives us an opportunity to fill the large amount of players with generics at those tables. We also set it up so that most of those early season scenarios are also cheaper to purchase. @Argh!, I have added the schedule to the site. I just copy and pasted from an Excel sheet so it is not the prettiest. You can reach the schedule by going to Origins 2015 Schedule.
For those who do not already know, Brent Bowser aka Vincent Holiday has stepped down as the Cincinnati VL. Apparently there is enough people that he has fooled into thinking he is funny that he is getting more comedy gigs. By stepping down, Brent has more free to time to pursue his Comedy career. We hope to one day see him on tv with his own special. Thanks Brent for all your hard work and sticking things out to make sure CincyCon run as smoothly as possible! With Brent stepping down, we need to promote another VL for Cincinnati. I have talked with those interested and have received feedback from some members of the community. I would like to thank everyone who was interested in becoming the new VL. I have decided to promote Andy McDonald to become the new Cincinnati VL. I look forward to the good work Andy will do in the community. Welcome to the team Andy!
It is my privilege to welcome Jim Harris to the VO ranks as the 2nd VL for Columbus. Jim and I 1st met at Origins last year as he was a walk-in during the con. He had such a great time that he came out to our local organized events. He has given back to the Columbus community by organizing the events for one of our stores and GMing at numerous locations. He has been a sounding board for both myself and Justin, the other Columbus VL. Jim has also had the privilege of having his rogue die in back to back games run by me. :) With this promotion, he and Justin will be working on continuing to grow PFS in the current area and expanding it to the neighboring areas of Columbus. I look forward to all of the great work Jim will put in making PFS even better.
PFS at Origins is still in need of GMs. Don't miss out on all the fun. GM 4 slots and earn a special boon and a GM Badge. Up that to 7 slots and get a share of the hotel room as well. Go to Origins GM Application to sign up! For those already signed up, typically at the end of April/beginning of May I will receive the information on GM registration. I will then send that information to the GMs. Event registration will be sometime after that for those that want to play as well. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me at ohiopfs@gmail.com.
Netopalis, glad you will be able to join us again. The plan for this year is even bigger and better! For those who haven't' signed up yet, go to Origins GM Application to sign up. Don't forget by signing up to GM, you can earn a free badge, hotel stay, a special boon and other goodies!
Thanks Doug for starting off this thread! Origins 2014 GM Registration is live! Please go to Origins GM Application to sign up. 4 GM slots will earn you a badge while 7 GM slots will earn you a badge and 1/4 hotel room. For those who GM at least 7 slots but don't want/need the hotel room, we are looking into alternate rewards. We have a lot of fun events planned for this year and we will need even more GMs then last year to accomplish our goal of 250 tables. As we get closer to Origins, I will share more of what we have planned. What I can share now is that we will once again be holding our annual Goblin Bash on the Sunday of Origins aka the last day of the con. We will be expanding it from WBG I & II to also include Frostfur Captives, Rise of the Goblin Guild, and the PFS portion of Rise of the Runelords Burnt Offerings. One of the fun events we are looking at running but will require more GM commitment is holding our first annual Midnight Madness event. This is our first attempt to have an organized Midnight Madness event and we will have some goodies set aside for those that choose brave it. All we need are some crazy GMs willing to stay up late. This would take place 12:30 am Saturday. We will also be running Pathfinder Society Special: Siege of the Diamond City on Saturday night. Last year we had Sheila Heidmarch visit all the way from her Manor in Magnimar. Who knows who will show up this year. This is especially true since Origins theme this year is Monsters! The Origins Media guest of Honor this year is Alaina Huffman who currently appears on Supernatural. Make sure and sign up to GM and be apart of the fun. See you all at Origins in June!
We are still looking for a few more GMs for CincyCon. Below are the slots we still need filled. Friday 7pm-11pm: Port Godless Saturday 9am-1pm: HQ/Goblin Attack Saturday 7pm-11pm: Siege of the Diamond Gate Sunday 9am-1pm: Destiny of the Sands Part 2
Sunday 1pm-5pm: Destiny of the Sands Part 1
Patrick, I am now in charge of all of Ohio. Russell was previously the VC for Cincinnati but has stepped down within the last week. I have received your email and I was already aware of the situation previously. You will be getting a response to it. With all the recent changes, both Paizo and OhioPFS have not been updated with all of the new info yet. I will be taking care of OhioPFS today.
Thanks everyone! I did want to say that Geoffrey aka wjsilver has done an excellent job working as a store coordinator in the Dayton area. He has stepped up and helped whenever we needed it. As an example, his very first GM session was at Origins last year. I had paid a visit to a Dayton game day and was recruiting GMs when he volunteered to run. He then proceeded to run at Origins without issue. Everything has been uphill from there. When Brent and I discussed who would take over for him we both quickly agreed on Geoffrey. Congrats Geoffrey and welcome to the team!
It is my privilege to welcome Timothy Withem to the VO ranks. Tim and I go way back and have been in the same home group for 15 years or so. We started back in high school playing AD&D. We eventually made our way through the D&D editions to D&D 3.5 and then skipping 4th edition to go to Pathfinder when it came out. Tim was the person who introduced me to PFS. He is to be blamed for me losing my free time and sleep for the good of the Society. Tim will be responsible for growing the area known as Upper Miami Valley which is north of Dayton, Ohio. Currently he is organizing 1 store but will be working on bringing the other 5 stores in the areas into the fold and starting PFS at one of the local high schools. It will be exciting to see what we can do with this area. Welcome to the team!
Thanks everybody for the kind words. I am glad everyone had a good time. I hope to see you all at Origins next year. Chris Mortika - We could have a meet and greet the Wednesday of Origins during the 1st slot since we don't run anything. That would catch all the early gamers but not the ones coming in later in the week. Could also setup something for Friday morning opening the hall early for folks to mingle. Sin of Asmodeus - I apologize for your Halls of Dwarven Lore game not running the best. The GM who was scheduled to run it had to pull out of Origins due to a family emergency. Your GM was suppose to be running Race for the Runecarved Key but I swapped him out instead of having one of the more inexperienced GMs run it. As Greg Hurst said, that one is tough one to prep let alone run cold.
I would like to thank all of the GMs and players who came out this year. Without you, we could not have had an awesome Origins! Last year, PFS ran 122 tables. This year we crushed that by running a total of 205 tables. That is an increase of 68% for an additional 83 tables. There was a huge influx of generics necessitating us to use all of our backup GMs. I was happy that we did not have to turn away anyone and had enough GMs to go around. We had plenty of 6 person tables with some 7 person tables scattered in. This means if we recruit more GMs, then we can run even more tables. Should anyone have any questions, concerns, praises, or PFS pictures you would like to share, you can reach me at columbuspathfindersociety@gmail.com. Here are my highlights:
Lastly, I wanted to say a big thank you to VOs June Solar, Chris Bonnet, Michael Costello, and Brent Bowser for running extra tables and helping out HQ during all your slots off. I look forward to seeing everyone at Origins next year for an even bigger and better show!

I had the honor and privilege to crown a new 5 star GM at Origins. Michael Costello earned his 5th star while GMing Sniper in the Deep during the last slot on Thursday. Those that have played at his tables know the effort he puts into his games making sure his players have fun. Join me in congratulating him on his 5th star! Congrats Michael!!!
Don't forget, Origins Game Fair pre-registration will end on Friday, May 31, 2013, at 11:59pm EDT. For those wanting in on We Be Goblins Too, there were 6 spots left last I checked. I will most likely have 1 GM available to be an overflow for it but there is no guarantee to get in on it with generics. |
