Hi,

Can someone please tell me which issue of Dragon had an article by Ed Greenwood covering a gambling den outside of Waterdeep?

The issue would have been printed between 2001 and 2006, if memory serves, and the article was one of the Volo/Elminster ones.

Thanks in advance for your help!

:)

Hi all,

I have only skimmed over the adventures in issue 147.

My gaming taste, and that of my gaming groups, is for low to mid-level adventures, so the 17th level part of the Adventure Path holds no real allure for me.

The last part of the Greyhawk 3-parter is somewhat of interest, but the lynchpin to my buying this issue or not rests with the lower level Eberron adventure.

Since I do not own or use the Eberron setting, I am wondering how easily the adventure can be converted to a generic setting.

Thanks in advance to anyone who offers their thoughts.

If this has been asked and answered elsewhere, forgive me for repeating this.

What is the status of items Paizo has created or stocked for D&D, such as Dungeon back issues and the Dragon Compendium? Will these be gone once they are gone, or will they continue to be available for some time to come?

I just finished reading this adventure today, and am looking foeward to using it in one of my campaigns soon.

Kudos to Tim Hitchcock!

I especially liked the trap (I won't say where it occurs, since it may be a spoiler for some readers) and the ettercap in sheep's clothing (as it were).

Some very nice surprises in this adventure!

Hi,

I posted in several threads on 4/12 and now the posts are gone.

In no way did I write anything objectionable, so I am wondering what might have happened to the posts.

Seems like many folks have already gotten theirs, and it is in local Borders stores.

Waaah....

Is it too soon to contact Customer Service?

While reading Challenge of Champions 6 in the latest Dungeon, I can't help but think it would be cool to have all 6 of the Challenge of Champion adventures in one bound book.

Even though I have most of them in issues of Dungeon, I think these fun adventures would make a great soft/hardbound book with player handouts, sample PCs, maybe even maps for use with miniatures.

Anyone agree? (or disagree?)

I tried to take advantage of the offer from Miniature Market.com from page 59 of Dragon issue 346.

The offer is for one free miniature of up to $3.99.

When I entered the code from the ad, it came up as $2.99 off my order.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

================

Here's some other aspects of the offer:

1.) When ordering a metal mini, you can pick first class shipping or priority shipping. First class is much cheaper.

However when ordering multiple minis (at least the plastic D&D minis), you ONLY have priority shipping come up.

2.) The ad offers one free mini priced at SRP (suggested retail price) of $3.99. Are the prices offered on their site SRP to THEM or is SRP the retail price, not their discounted price?

I've been waxing nostalgic of late and got to thinking about the first adventure I bought and ran for my first AD&D group.
(I4 Oasis of the White Palm)

I have also been fondly remembering the first published adventure I might have played in. (B2 Keep on the Borderland)

So what are the first published adventures you folks ran as DMs or played in with a character?

HOLY CRAP!!!

Not that I am busting on the fine folks at Paizo, but I can not BELIEVE how expensive some D&D miniatures have become!

$70, $100, $200 for single plastic minis?!?

And I thought Magic: the Gathering was bad!

Whew!

I guess this is a "rant", and I don't know where else to express my "WOW!!!" at the prices and the state of the miniature collecting hobby.

I bought several lots of Dragoneye commons for .50 a mini back when the set was in print, and now I see some of those are going for $5-$10 each here and on other collector sites.

Man! Glad I have them now, but I fear I'll never get some of the classic monsters that are rares.

Are there any "Charm" type spells in any WotC D&D books which allow the caster to charm many people at once?

If so, how could a caster extend the duration of the charm for 7 to 10 days or so?

Thanks!

This, for me, was a great Critical Threat, and I plan on at least one adventure featuring this NPC as a foil for my PCs.

The article gave some fun and interesting adventure and RPing ideas.

Kudos to the author, and I'd love to see more of his NPCs in print!

(but..."Wren Field"....ugh! Nice idea, silly name.)

Waaah...

I wan'um. I wan'um!

Any idea when they'll be up and ready?

Hi,

It says issue 340 was mailed some time ago, but I have not received mine yet.

Anyone get theirs yet?

I live in PA, so it may take a while to get out east.

Hi,

I bought issue 101 on e-bay recently, and it did not come with the subscriber section items (The Chasm Bridge and the Map of Mystery).

Did the Chasm Bridge come in 3e form on a CD at one point and is the Map of Mystery available on-line anywhere?

Thanks in advance for any info.

My wife has a sudden....fixation, shall we say, to use rot grubs and throat leeches in a 3.5 campaign.

But I can't find any informaiton/stats for them in the sourcebooks I own.

Have the grubs/leeches been officially updated for 3.5 in any source?

Thanks (I think).

Hi,

I have a situation in one of my campaigns where a player would like his wolf to wear a set of magical bracers the party found.

He claims that since rings, etc. shrink or grow to fit the wearer, bracers should, as well.

I don't want to be a harda$$, but this doesn't seem right to me.

Suggestions/opinions?

Thanks, all!

Hi,

I'm a big fan of shorter adventures that can be played in one session, and was re-reading some of my Dungeon back issues, looking for such adventures.

"Buzz on the Bridge" fits this bill, and I think it will be a fun adventure to run.

But I am not sure where to place the queen bee on the bridge. Is the bridge itself the "hive" or is the hive in one of the wax wall sections from the 4 panel scale map?

I believe it would be for former, but want some opinions about it.

Thanks, all!

Hi,

Anyone here have any experience playing or GMing on Ghost Orb?

www.ghostorb.com

It looks interesting, but I'd like to hear some feedback on the site before joining.

Thanks!

Below is a message I posted in the Dungeon general area.

But first, I have to wonder WHY Dungeon Magazine has to suffer in order for Paizo to put out a $60 hardcover book compiling the Shackled City adventure path series.

Not that I am a big fan of White Dwarf or Games Workshop products, but when a new book or game comes out, White Dwarf does not suffer in content.

I realize this is comparing a Fiji apple to a Golden Delicious apple, but come on -- why should Dungeon suffer for the sake of another product?

Small, dedicated staff...I can hear it now.

I don't mean to sound so bitter, but I came back to Dungeon expecting so much more.

=========================================================

I've been away from Dragon for about 6 months now.

When I read in Dragon issue 333 about the new Age of Worms adventure path campaign starting up in Dungeon issue 124, which would have CONVERSIONS FOR THE FORGOTTEN REALMS for the adventure and setting, I made it a point to search out that issue of Dungeon.

Now I find I need to buy issue 125 for the conversion and another Backdrop installment.

Yet again, another feature promised and promoted that did not surface.

PLEASE, to whoever is responsible for making the "coming next issue" and similar claims: DON'T make claims you're not sure will be in a given issue.

I really looked forward to issue 124, but my enjoyment is subdued over the lack of coversion for the FR setting which was promised. (And please, no comments about "a good DM is able to make his own coversions".)

It also seems that the three part Vampires of Waterdeep adventure series, which was also promised to start in issue 125 (as per Dragon 333) has been delayed.

Sheesh!
