Mel nods.."Aye I was saying to Ajani that there is more strength and safety in numbers. Have any off you managed to befriend any off the other crew I know a lot off us have been working on Grok and I think I might just be able to get our gear with a little cash to grease her palm." "We have t' be wary mind, too many in our little band and Scourge or Plugg might think we was planning a Mutiny" Hmm..if Grok is helpful then I have a DC 0 diplomacy check (+0 for simple aid) to get my gear back in othr words an automatic sucess...how would it work for getting the others stuff Mel follows closely behind "I was thinking the same thing..there is safety and strength in numbers and I have been noting those who might be useful allies..that Quinn woman..Cogswell who I may have persuaded to our side and possibly that halfling woman though I have not spoken to her yet...there may be others" Ajani Ihejirika wrote:
Mel has the grace to blush.."Sorry about that..Ajani..right..I've just never seen anyone like you, and it's Mel..that's short for Melvaun..I'm from Riddleport if you have ever heard off it" She spots Fjori's gesture.."Looks like someone else wants to talk." she mutters.."Shall we join them?" Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 Mel's Rum ration once again finds it's way into the ocean. She seeks out Cogswill that evening hoping to further improve his attitude
Knowledge Local 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 so no story bonus to influence this week Still she tries to maintain friendly overtures Diplomacy as influence1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 I think that might have moved him all the way to helpful, the investment in face seems to be paying off for me She moves amongst her new shipmates letting each know in turn that it might be an idea if they had a quiet word together. "They think off us as mates..we might as well be mates and help each other out." is her general point. She also includes Sandara Quinn in the group the woman seems to know her way around after all and a cleric is always handy to have around if they aren't too stuffy Con Check1d20 ⇒ 19
Mel actually quite enjoys the day as she scrambles through the ship..She makes sure that she passes the Quartermasters Stores frequently stopping to converse briefly with the Half Orc Woman whenever she can find time. Diplomacy as Influence on Grok1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 She takes time to point out that Grok seems overworked and that perhaps a QuarterMasters Mate is what is needed. From the scuttlebutt she's picked up during the day Mel decides that working on the Quartermaster to get her kit back is her best option. To that end she begins to spin a tale regarding the ugly fate of the last person to steal the blade she bears Perform Orate 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 She then approaches Grok and tries to make friendly overtures Diplomacy as Influence1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 As for her rum ration she finds a secluded spot on the deck close to the scuppers and the evil drink disappears into the ocean soon afterwards. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 Profession Sailor1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 Influence Cog Diplomacy 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 Perception1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Mel looks Scourge straight in the eye.."You might find I'm tougher than I look Bosun" she states then sets to the work trying to engage Cog in conversation.By the end off the watch the ropes and sails are almost pristine and Cog seems to be coming around to the 'Lad' whose selection of wild and outlandish Varisian tales of death and destruction seem to strike a chord with the man. Thats a fairly spectacular start for Mel Perception1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 Mel is unable to make out the conversation between the two ships officers and the Nord is really beneath her notice for now though she resolves to try and talk some sense into him later...extra muscle always being useful even if he seems to have most off it between his ears.. The Gnome has apparently been removed to somewhere whilst she was climbing and the Ape Man and the large Chelaxian are claimed for the rigging crew which leaves her and the smiling Quadiran..she doesn't trust people who smile too much..too often that smile turns out to mask a vicious interior. In addition he probably follows the usual Quadiran worship of Sarenrae and she has had issues with that church since childhood. Mel climbs the rigging steadily but is amazed at the speeed the ape Man is able to achieve rwecxhing the top before she is even half way to it...still she keeps climbing knowing a few words are needed out of Pluggs earshot. "Listen.." she says as she reaches the others.."I reckon we need to stick together..watch each others backs..and let's not get on the wrong side of that bastard down there before we are ready to deal with him on our terms.." Take 10 6 times for a 14 on each check Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 INT check1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Mel yelps under the thudding clubs and stumbles along in the coffle blinking as the harsh sunlight hits her eyes..Now she can get a good look at this 'Master Scourge' she recognises him from the 'Formidably Maid' She gives the Plugg character a leery eye and nods "Oh , allus willin' to play nice Zir..allus.." "Uh..." Mel recovers from her surprise that the ape can talk and whispers back "It's a regional thing..they come from way up north where they have snow all year round..you know what snow is don't you? Anyway they tell me it's ahard land and it breeds hard men..we see a lot off them in Riddleport..that's where I'm from..it's way up north too but not as far as that guy's home"" Mel's Dunnage the stolen stuff Combat Gear Leather 10gp 15lbs

Mel looks like a boy of 13-14 years off age..Dirty blonde hair, lithe build, Shabby but clean seamans clothing, and a battered tricorne.
