Haha that's one way to do it but the whole gimmick is that he always has the tool for the job. And that's why I didnt want to use the anytool because it's so much more satisfying when he just carry around a bunch of mundane tools, so good suggestion, but I would rather carry a crap ton of tools than have an tool that does multiple

Hey guys,
I need your help! I'm trying to make a character that has a lot of tools to help prepare him for anything. What are some tools you guys think he should carry? Things like shovel, pickaxes, collapsible bathtub, portable battering ram, etc. It doesnt have to be in any books, maybe things that were useful in a scenario in your game?. (And yes I know the anytool exists, just think is more fun )

Thanks,

Hey guys,

I'm building a blind swordsman that utilizes the blind master feats (I know it's a big disadvantage, but I like the characters personality better than having the best build so I think I'll be fine!). And he starts out at level 5. I didnt want this character to have alot of dex because most of the benefits of dex is negated because if any ranger is attacking him outside his blindsight range, hes flat footed. So I wanted a high flat footed. But I thought it would be cool doing a twf build.... haha I know, contradicting character concepts. But I decided that I could try the Slayer class, allowing me to get TWF ignoring the prerequisites (using the ranger's combat styles). But to help with getting my sneak attack I was thinking about picking up the fient feats (because he is blind he actually gets a bonus to fients). But feats like improved two-weapon fient would be perfect but it says it requires 15 dex... (probably because you need TWF to get it.. but I got TWF without an 15 dex...) so after this long explanation, I was wondering if you guys know about any way to bypass the dex requirement for things like the two-weapon fient feats? (Also if you have any other suggestions that you think my character could go, I would take any suggestions, I love hearing about builds and ideas!)

Thanks,
Mchawi

Wait what?? What feat chain is that?! I only know about the oread feat Mururs of Earth . What's the dwarf feats called?

Scott Wilhelm wrote:

How are you sorting out fighting while Blind? What Blind countermeasures are you taking?

If you are going to be a Blind fighter already, maybe you should carry around an Eversmoking Bottle, and make everyone else Blind, too.

It's actually quite easy, there is a feat chain that focuses around fighting blind, and the final one give you blind sight 30ft. It is called Blinded Master

And I could definetly get the Eversmoking Bottles! It's a little pricey at character generation, but that could defiently help, especially if my party is down to get some sort of smoke vision goggles or something

Wow thanks for all suggestions and information!! I never really thought about using shield with twf... huh. And the build I'm making it a fighter that focuses on the blind fight feats (because I'm playing a blind character). And before you guys say "why are you blind?!?" And the answer is, why not? Its definitely a downside, but I've been playing pathfinder for 7 years and I enjoy having a downside especially if it works well. I dont NEED to be a fighter, but it's just easier using the fighter's bonus feats to acquire the blind feats at level 5 (oh yeah probably should have meantioned that).

Ps: I'm not too afraid being too weak or underpowered, I'm not really the type of person that specifically goes to a class because it's the best meta or something. (Haha you probably can tell because I'm blind)

Hey guys,

I am currently making a character that Is going to utilize two weapon fighting. I think I may make the character also a two weapon warrior fighter archetype. I was trying to figure out what I should use as my weapons? I was thinking of using the Elven Thorn Blade and Elven Leaf Blade combo. And then I could also grab the crit feats. I was also tempted to grab 2 Thorn Blades and have one welded to an Effortless Lace so I could get a higher damage die. And to add onto that I was gonna get the critical feats to make that even better. My other option is to do the same thing with the effortless laces but instead of the elven blades, I use two Bastard Swords . So I would alot less crit range, but I would have a lot larger damage die... so yeah, what do you guys think I should use? And I can add more about the build if you ask (trying my best not to write a book..) and if you have any sort of suggestions with this build I would love to hear some feedback

Thanks,
Mchawi

Oh I read the belt of mighty hurling and thinking about it, they may be talking about the returning quality not applying to improvised weapons

Hey guys I just bought the Deluxe Harrow Deck and I was wondering what people have done with it. At the moment I am about to start the Harrowing module so I can use the deck to have the players more involved with the cards. But I was wondering what you guys used the deck for and if the $20 is worth it. I might return it because they came bent and I was wondering if I should buy it again.

Thanks
Mchawi

Hello all, I wanted to play the Harrowing Module as a one shot for my group. It says that it is for 9th level characters, but i noticed that some of the fights go up the CR11. Do you think it will be too difficult? Do you guys have any suggestion for me when I DM this module? Should I start the party at lvl 10, or maybe level them up as they play? This is my first time DMing so if there are any suggestions that seem obvious it may still be helpful to a first time DM.

Sincerely,
Mchawi

Hey everyone! I am making a goblin fire bomber alchemist for the Reign of Winter Campaign and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on things I should have or grab to make my build better or more enjoyable?

Hey, i'm playing a goblin, is there a way I can get the orc feat, Fire God's Blessing as a goblin? Sorry if it's a stupid question. I playing a Fire Bomber Goblin Alchemist so if you have any other suggestions I would be grateful :D

I'm pretty sure you can charge when staggered but you can only charge up to your movement instead of double movement

Is pounce a standard action? is there an easy way to get it?

I posted this in general and someone said this was more of an advice, so I added to advice. :)

I want to become a goblin that utilizes the roll with it feat. I was thinking maybe going monk and monkey style but what do you guys think would make this viable/useful. Also would I be able to equip spiked armor and roll into enemies hurting them? I also was thinking about going firebomber/winged marauder alchemist.Do you think this is a viable goblin build? Is there a better class that would use this feat better?

The campaign I will be playing is reign of winter if that helps :)

Thanks

I'd suggest moving this over to the advice area, not sure how to do that but it involves flagging down a mod.

Regardless, Roll With It has two down sides. For one, it leaves you Staggered the turn after you use it. This makes it pretty bad for martial characters since you are stuck to one move or one standard action. On

I flagged the post as in the wrong sub-forum, thanks for the advice. Also, can't you charge if you are staggered?

I do? This is my first high-level caster I have made, should I have more spells? My intelligence is 34, I thought I did the calculations correctly. How does one buy spells? We have not started the campaign, we are starting at level 15 so I cannot find a spellbook.

Yes, this was slightly a joke but more of a challenge. I read somewhere that you could get super high diplomacy and base land speed and run around taunting people and force them into following you getting them off your party.

You just have to think outside the box, don't think of it as a stupid and worthless exercise, think of it as an experiment on making a character that's fun to play, even if he isn't as strong as the other party members.

Since you haven't mentioned which school of magic you have for SF/GSF, I'll just list a few general ones.

Not sure how to link them or I would, first post. Will update as I find/remember more.

my main school is divination, but I have all sort of spells. I think my only divination spells are the ones I got to pick for being a divination caster. My opposition schools are illusion and enchantment but I dont mind having one or two spells from the school, its just probably not like 5th lvl or higher because that is an extra spell slot

Also to link you would do this
(any ".' are not suppose to be there I just needed it to not be a link)
(you dont need to link them, I just wanted to tell u how if you ever wanted to do links)

I have made a Lvl 15 wizard. I have already got both spell focus and greater spell focus. I have a 34 int(so +12) so if I cast a Lvl 5 spell it would be a spell save dc of 29(10+12+5+2). Is that good? Is there any other way to increase my dc? I know about demoralize through intimidate, and I need to beat the target's dc of (10+hitdice+wis mod). Is there any other way to lower someone's spell save dc?

There is an ability wizards get when picking the Conjuration Arcane School and going down the path of Creation, that allows the wizard to create an object that weighs one pound or less. The object must be made of simple materials, such as wood, stone, glass, or metal, and cannot contain any moving parts.

What are some cool/unique/helpful things a conjuration wizard could make using the using this ability?

Thank You to everyone for replying and helping me! :)

Under defensive abilities, I says scrying adept. May I ask how that would be a defensive abilities. How would this be a defensive ability? Can Gilgeam use scrying in combat, if so is it effective?

Serisan wrote:

So, taking a quick stab here, though I will say there were a few things I didn't recognize immediately.

Divination school selection is typically for the amazing passive on it. Getting 1/2 your level towards initiative and never being surprised is very powerful. Having divination spells at every level isn't really a bad thing, either.

Transmutation spells typically have some of the bigger impacts on the field. They're less likely to be subject to resistances or immunities than other offensive spells - i.e. there's no reduction other than the save for Disintegrate.

I would not definitively say "this is the strongest wizard," but it looks effective. One caveat that I'd throw out there is that the stats on that character largely depend on the ability to craft everything with Craft Wonderous Item. As you get to higher levels, I've found that the costs associated (specifically time) grow beyond one's ability to craft at times. Additionally, a lot of GMs are hesitant to allow crafting due to the economy warping that happens because of it. In the case of this character, there are 2 items each worth 90k retail (belt and headband) that would take up 75% of WBL, plus a 110k retail eye slot and a 50k retail neck. That's 340k that's reduced to 170k via Craft Wonderous. WBL for level 15 is 240k. That said, it is generically legal and quite powerful.

why would he have an enchantment spell if that is one of his opposition schools. couldn't he just pick a different opposition school that he doesn't use?

I was looking around pathfinder forums because I building a wizard. I came across what someone said to be the strongest wizard. It was Ravingdork's Gilgeam Grayhem. I was wondering what makes this character so good? I understand that his spells are cool. Also why is he a divination school wizard that casts pretty much only transmutation spells. I'm new to casters so I could just be totally missing it but idk.

Here's the link to Ravingdork's characters it is in alphabetical order

Hello, I was making a scrying wizard and I was wondering how scrying really works. Can I use it in combat? How would It work in combat? Is there any cool things/combos you can do with scrying? Hope this wasn't a stupid question I am new to casters in the world of pathfinder. :)

I want to try to make a lvl 15 commoner, can you help me? my stats are, 18,18,17,16,14,12. Good Luck and have fun!

So I was just having fun building characters for pathfinder when I thought of something. Can a person use gargantuan of colossal weapons? With the penalty of course.
Is there a certain limit of size category differences that you can go.
And don't worry about stats, but I'm guessing you'll need quite a large strength. Would it be better if the character was large?

Need help finding good occultist feats. Also what is the best armor and weapon for occultists?

Thanks.

I'm just sending my Thanks to everyone who has posted already. You guys rock!

What is the best way to play an occultist? Are they front-line fight worthy? Are there good archetypes? What are the better implements?

What are your favorite classes, they can be 3rd party, prestige, multi-classed, anything. I would appreciate if you put the archetype(I any) that it used. Also if the class has like a something that you need to pick like bllodlines or orders I would also like to know them.

Yeah.. How my dm does stats is that we roll 4D6 and add up the highest three(don't actually know if that is the normal way to do it when not doing a point by) and I rolled REALLY good..

And thanks to the people that have answered

So I'm making a paladin and I need your help. My stats are 18,17,17,16,14,14 and I want to play a character that's is fun but can also be a decent front line fighter. My dm doesn't mind 3rd party things(as long as its balanced) and I don't care what the archetype is(if any), or if it's multiclassed or prestige. Try to enjoy yourselves if you want to help me(don't want to seem like I'm forcing you guys :D ).

Good Luck!

I'm wanting to make a samurai, I need help. I just want to make him strong and fun to play. I don't care if it's multi-classed or what archetype or order, just want to enjoy my time playing pathfinder. If you want to know I rolled extremely good stats (14,17,17,18,14,16). Thank you.

My friends want me to DM a campaign and they want to start at level 20. I can't think of any ideas for the campaign. In the party there is an alchemist, two summoners, an oracle, psychic warrior(from the ultimate psionics book), and a person who hasn't picked a class yet. Any ideas are welcome.

So my character in my pathfinder game is crazy and evil and was told by his God to collect a NPC party member's tears(yeah weird.) so if when my party is sleeping I cast hold person on them do they get a will save? And if they pass do they wake up?
