A planar adventure as already suggested would be awesome. That kind of adventure where there is a bit of mess which makes the PC lost in the story and they have to find out how to survive\accomplish the mission,

Just bought the product on amazon and it's fantastic!

However I was wondering how much will I damage the product if I cut it 8x10 (the folded size) to obtain 6 separate rectangles which are more convenient to manage IMHO.

Will the cutted edge absorb ink making it not removable?

P.S.
Consider that I would cut the flip mat with a professional cutter in a perfect straight line at the copy shop.

I imagine the damage would be more than inconvenient. Investing in the pdf and have them printed & laminated might be more convenient.

My local stores can laminate printed paper with common plastic which unfortunately doesn't work with dry erase (the ink doesn't actually get down at all on the plastic), wet erase markers remains a bit "liquid"..

That is strange, it always worked well with overhead markers for me :-(

If I could find how it's called the material used to cover the flip mats maybe I will be able to search more accurately. 'cause at the moment I honestly don't know what to look for custom laminated sheets.

Thanks for the clarifications! Really appreciated.

I don't think ink even on the edges will wreck the mat (unless you REALLY soak it) but I am not understanding why you consider cutting it up more convenient. If it's a matter of it not unfolding flat, it doesn't take long for a heavy object to flatten it out during pre-game prep time.

If you like smaller bits to shove around, map packs may also be generally more desirable for you.

It's not a matter of unfolding it. Folding the mat in the "opposite" direction solves the issue quickly. It's that I think that doing a battle with the map folded, and than maybe I need to extend it a bit, I can only double it's size each time. Having spare rectangles allows me to overlap them to maybe show just half of the second tile underneath the first.

I'm having an hard time to find a proper laminating material for this purpose that's why I bought the flip mat. Otherwise I could print ahead of times entire dungeons! :D

As stated in the book:

"Ectoplasmic Bonded Manifestation: When a spiritualist
uses this ability and chooses ectoplasmic form, she gains
an ectoplasmic shield that protects her without restricting
her movement or actions. She gains a +4 shield bonus
to Armor Class; this bonus applies to incorporeal touch
attacks."

The last line is a little ambiguous for me, does it mean that the bonus take effect ONLY against incorporeal touch attacks or ALSO against incorporeal touch attacks?

I did not understood if the emotional focus of a spiritualist's phantom is choosed at each summon or it is fixed since the first level when first making the bond with the phantom.

Looks like this project is dead?
I'm about to try downloading both Paizo PRD and d20pfsrd with HTTack, newer version of Calibre support the conversion of and html structure to mobi/epub.

I'll let you know how it will come out!

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Hi everybody, I've "recently" joined the Pathfinder world (a couple of years) and sadly noticed that the italian publisher (Giochi Uniti http://www.giochiuniti.it/) released only few books, and more sadly they are released occasionally every few years and not in a high number of copies. Books released in the 2012 such as the Race Guide are not in development yet! D:
I think that such rhythm is unacceptable considering that in stores and events such as the LuccaComics these books ends quickly and are always a sold out.

Hence, seeing how helpful the online SRD is and how few people has a good enough English knowledge to flawlessly read the SRD, I would like to make a copy of it on my website and start translating it in italian with the help of some friends which all have at least a B2 certificate and are experienced player of Pathfinder (to avoid how is written\how is intended misconceptions during translations).

If I correctly understood the OpenGameLicense I shouldn't ask any permission for this initiative, given that the material is under the same license, however I would like to keep in contact with one of the SRD administrators.

Thanks in advance, Federico.

P.S.
To give and idea of the unacceptable condition in which italian players are, these are the released books:
Core Rulebook
Advanced Player Guide
Ultimate Magic
Ultimate Combat
Bestiary 1
Bestiary 2
Bestiary 3
NPC Codex

Each piece took 3 years to be published since the original Paizo release without considering multiple updates due to missing parts and grammatical errors.

All the other books are yet to be announced as working in progress.

I've been playing pathfinder for almost an year and till know I didn't found anything to browse the game items/spells efficiently.

In the official books which I own its often a pain having to browse the full list and then search between the pages for the full description of an item, then going back and forth again and again for each item I would like to check.

Online the prd site it's built the same without search filters, the website d20 is organised better but here still there aren't great search tools.

For instance how could I get a list of all the items below a certain caster level and a certain amount?

Or how can I filter only the items witch grants bonus to strength?

Is there any website I missed which makes easy to browse the game content?

Interesting spectacles but I can't find them, and can't understand what the cloak of elvenkind matters since gives +5 on stealth checks.

I think he referred to the general magic item creation rules, which state that an item granting a skill bonus of +N would cost 100gp x N². The cloak is there as an example of such an object granting a skill bonus; it helped to assume the added prerequisites and the item's CL and thus its crafting DC.

Uh thank you very much for the clarification.

Found those infos also there http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateCampaign/campaignSystems/magicIt emCreation.html

Or a friend can help giving him a +2 to the spellcraft check.

However a friend in order to use Aid Another must have craft woundrous item?

Quote:
In cases where the skill restricts who can achieve certain results, such as trying to open a lock using Disable Device, you can't aid another to grant a bonus to a task that your character couldn't achieve alone. The GM might impose further restrictions to aiding another on a case-by-case basis as well.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Diego sei italiano per caso? XD

As to the DC,... there aren't really any ways to reduce the DC, but there are many ways to increase your bonus on the roll, which amounts to the same thing. If you have a lab assistant, s/he can use the aid another action for a bonus to the skill roll (familiars are traditional for this)
How can a familiar use "Aid Another" for a Spellcraft check without having it as ability?

Familiars have your skill ranks. ("For each skill in which either the master or the familiar has ranks, use either the normal skill ranks for an animal of that type or the master's skill ranks, whichever is better. In either case, the familiar uses its own ability modifiers.")

Awesome, so the skill points can be doubled.

Thank you very much for the answers.

So a level 4 sorcerer who want to craft that item and hence don't meet the spell requirement (which is a level 5 spell) will have a DC of 9+5+5 = 19?

And there is no way it can't lower it apart finding something or someone which has/casts the spell like a scroll or an enchanter in a city to avoid the 5 points malus?

Edit:
I'm a bit confused, checking the FAQ (http://paizo.com/paizo/faq/v5748nruor1fm#v5748eaic9n8m), I understand that the Pearl of Power (CL 17 as written in the item Stats) can be crafted with a lower caster level DC corresponding to the CL of the spell that will go into the pearl.

Hence if the sorcerer decides to ignore the "Secret Chest" spell requirement, adding a +5 malus to the DC, what hinders the crafter to use a lower CL?
