(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Rich Fox Tavern:
Mason tries hard not to blush. "Er, well, you are an attractive woman..."

"So, yeah, I'll go check with Savendir!" Mason runs off to Savendir's room.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Rich Fox Tavern:
When Flavia returns, Mason nods at her. "I agree that we should get everyone together."

He heads to Savendir's room to tell him the plan.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Rich Fox Tavern:
Mason looks thoughtful for a few moments.

"Hmm, I have heard of a place with that name. How about this: You and I go there and look for their friend, while these fellows wait here, just in case we cross paths."

He looks over at one of the men.

"Can you give a description of your friend? Any distinguishing marks, for example?"

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Rich Fox Tavern:
Mason walks by the table where Flavia is talking.

"Excuse me, miss. You seem to have dropped your room key." He hands Flavia the key to his room.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Savendir and Mason:
Mason nods in agreement. He whispers, "Do you think we should talk to them and figure out what's going on?"

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I'm in the mood for a drink, Sir Elf. How about you?" Mason inquires as he nods towards the bar.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason returns to the inn with Savendir, surprisingly keeping with the plan.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason, intrigued by the mention of Desna, strains to hear the conversation...as nonchalantly as possible.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason heads over to the fountain and walks around it while looking for anything unusual.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Savendir & Mason:
"I'm getting impatient for our abductors," Mason sighs.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason:
Mason hopes that the Mr. Bayghon is aware of the rat problem...

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Savendir & Mason:
Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Well, if they're really loud...

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Savendir & Mason:
Mason carries Savendir's belongings to room 11 and puts his own belongings in room 12.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Savendir & Mason:
Mason signs the register with his real name.
"Shall I take your bags to your room, Sir Elf?"

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"This gear is getting quite heavy. I'm ready to put it down." Mason groans to emphasize his point.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"Good choice, sir!" Mason beams as he follows Savendir to the Rich Fox.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I don't have a problem with that, Sir Elf," Mason replies with a wink.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I have no qualms playing the role of 'simple traveler who follows Desna,'" Mason states with a wry smile.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason looks up from his meal. "This breakfast is delicious. By the way, I wouldn't mind being the bait. I believe I can focus on the task at hand." His gaze drifts out to the middle distance for a moment, and then a sudden realization hits him. "Say, where is Urzur?"

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I feel like my mind has been travelling without me, " Mason whispers, a slight grin forming. He watches the revelry absentmindedly.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason, relieved that there is only one crocodile left, assumes he can get a crossbow bolt off. There would be time for healing later.

1d8 ⇒ 6
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason fires his crossbow at croc5.
Urzur, my apologies in advance...

Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Maybe?

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"This time for sure!"

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

Mason despondently watches his bolt sink into the water.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason says a quick prayer to Desna, before firing his crossbow.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5

"DESSSSSNAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!"

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"That's a mighty big river to cross. Maybe we should have stayed on the road."

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I would appreciate some help dragging the bodies out of the shrine."

if there are any

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I suppose we should do something with the bodies."

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"It would be best to stay on the road. Considering the dangers we've run into while on the road, I'd hate to think of what waits for us off the road."

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Matsumoto Rokuro wrote:

AT the conclusion of the battle, Rokuro heads over to Mason and bows his head politely.

"Honoured Priest. I have taken a most grievous wound and would be grateful if you would be able to remove this arrow and perform your healing abilities upon me." He bows again and indicates the arrow protruding from his abdomen.

At the conculsion of the exchange, he returns to his simple bed and falls asleep, waking in the morning to perform some simple exercises.
"If the honoured Savendir says that he can lead us upon the shortcut, then I am happy to trust in his abilities to get us to our destination."

"Forgive my absentmindness, warrior."

Mason casts cure light wounds for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

That was retroactive, it was

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I'm all for getting back to sleep," Mason yawns as he heads back to his bedroll.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"That's the thing about travelling...you never get a good night's sleep."

Mason moves to L14 and groggily fires his crossbow at B5.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

That's pretty much what I would have done. Including the result. :)

Sorry for spacing out on this.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason readies his crossbow in the hopes that the villains will be revealed by Flavia's sunrod.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"Huh, what, gophers?"

Mason, gets up out of his bedroll to look for what are, hopefully, just gophers.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Perception Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Mason spent some time seeing if there was anything he can do to fix the shrine up a bit, considering it's been unattended. For how long approximately?

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"A shrine to Desna. Splendid! They will certainly welcome travelers like us."

Mason is indeed wearing his holy symbol to Desna out in the open.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Apply the healing to Spare.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I can help with Blazing Doom. I'm sorry the horses took the brunt of this attack, and I know how valuable a horse can be on one's travels."

Mason casts cure light wounds, healing 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"Poor horse doesn't deserve to be hurt like this."

Mason leaps off his horse and moves next to Matsumoto's horse. He reaches the horse in time to get a quick cure light wounds off, healing the horse for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 points.

Silly me, I didn't actually prepare my spell list.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"From what I've seen, wolves have a little more self-preservation."

Attack:1d20 ⇒ 17
Damage:1d8 ⇒ 6

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

<Shoots crossbow bolt at W5>

Attack roll: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7

"Strange that wolves would be attacking a group like this."

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

I am 4-square updated!

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

I'll take the front of the back of the line, to best appreciate the journey.

I wish the RSS feed worked better for the PbPs. I keep assuming things are quiet, when they're anything but.

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

"I'd rather not play with monsters. At least with bandits, you can negotiate. Hungry monsters, not so much, and some are really tough to just run away from."

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Mason smiles. "I suppose you could say I was chosen especially to help out. I guess my 250 gold will go to a worthy cause, since I have been obligated not to take it."

He picks up and studies a fork, feeling its weight and admiring it's reflective surface, before dropping it into a vest pocket.

"My name is Mason, by the way. It's a pleasure to meet new companions on my travels."

(Male Human Cleric 2 / Rogue 1)

Hit points for 2nd and 3rd level: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 1) = 8
