"Hmm, I have heard of a place with that name. How about this: You and I go there and look for their friend, while these fellows wait here, just in case we cross paths."
He looks over at one of the men.
"Can you give a description of your friend? Any distinguishing marks, for example?"
Mason looks up from his meal. "This breakfast is delicious. By the way, I wouldn't mind being the bait. I believe I can focus on the task at hand." His gaze drifts out to the middle distance for a moment, and then a sudden realization hits him. "Say, where is Urzur?"
AT the conclusion of the battle, Rokuro heads over to Mason and bows his head politely.
"Honoured Priest. I have taken a most grievous wound and would be grateful if you would be able to remove this arrow and perform your healing abilities upon me." He bows again and indicates the arrow protruding from his abdomen.
At the conculsion of the exchange, he returns to his simple bed and falls asleep, waking in the morning to perform some simple exercises.
"If the honoured Savendir says that he can lead us upon the shortcut, then I am happy to trust in his abilities to get us to our destination."
"Poor horse doesn't deserve to be hurt like this."
Mason leaps off his horse and moves next to Matsumoto's horse. He reaches the horse in time to get a quick cure light wounds off, healing the horse for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 points.
Silly me, I didn't actually prepare my spell list.
"I'd rather not play with monsters. At least with bandits, you can negotiate. Hungry monsters, not so much, and some are really tough to just run away from."
Mason smiles. "I suppose you could say I was chosen especially to help out. I guess my 250 gold will go to a worthy cause, since I have been obligated not to take it."
He picks up and studies a fork, feeling its weight and admiring it's reflective surface, before dropping it into a vest pocket.
"My name is Mason, by the way. It's a pleasure to meet new companions on my travels."
