Maralla will wait til Sorin is in position, watching from across the way, then will follow up, trying to be as quiet as fighterly possible.

Yeah, sorry guys...I'm SNEEEEEEAKING (1d20=6)-4 for armor = 2

Marrala stumbles into a box, knocking it over...

"Ah yes Sorin, I suppose that's true, I forgot about Dorran's new choice of vocation. I suppose that's the reason the priest chose to follow Dorran, so I must forgive him...this time..."

"Defer to Dorran? DEFER to ....What?! the girl's not a good enough tactician for you priest?"

Sorin wrote:

Sorin hops down from the crate, "Wells during the day it looks like business as usual. Several of the children leave in the morning to steal for Lamm and the rest stay here and work. If we attack during the day there will be fewer children."

"If we attack now we might be able to get to Lamm or some of his men before they raise the alarm."

"That sounds familiar doesn't it Sorin, if I remember correctly after we spent all night performing, sleep took us pretty deeply, at least he gave us enough time to get some rest, probably so we'd make less mistakes during the performance..."

"When does the hammer fall?"

Whispers to Sorin and Dorran

Spoiler:
"I don't plan on letting Lamm walk out of there, what do we do if the priest interferes?"

Marra approaches the rendezvous point a few minutes early.

Blade freshly sharpened, ready to go...

She tries to sneak up on Sorin...

"Agreed, we've waited this long Sorin, we can wait a few more hours..."

"Priest you lay too much on the letter of the law, if this city made your religion illegal, would you cease to be a priest, flee or fight the wrong?"

hey sorry for not posting yesterday had a really long day of work...6am- 8pm= too tired to do any thing... will read up and post when i get back home( still at work now just taking a break to post this)

Sounds like my last Sunday...11am-1am...14 hours....wooo

Sorin looks back at Marra tossing her coins at the wall. "If we go in tonight there will probably be more children inside. Once the fighting starts at best they will only be in the way and they might not be hurt badly, at worst we might be fighting small children."

jumps in surprise drawing half-drawing her blade

"Ah, you startled me, where'd you come from?"

Marrala pulls out some copper pieces, and starts playing coppers on the wall, seeing how close she can get them to the edge of the wall while she waits.

don't worry bout me, this is what we decided to do, so let them scout

"agreed, however, I should not be seen before then, he does know my face still, I did attempt to kill him a little over a year ago..."

Dorran Kelvar wrote:
Dorran quickly shakes his head as if to clear the fog from his brain when the harrowing is over. He blinks blankly for a moment and comes to with a start. If this was a parlor trick it was a damn good one Dorran thinks to himself. Turning to Sorin he says "Im ready to head out with you. This should be like old times." Then with a gesture to both his swords and his bow says "Ive got all I need. We should head out soon." This said with a look of anticipation

"Sorin, Dorran; Head out then, get as good of idea of what we face, then come get the priest and I, Pavo do you have stealthy means, or will you stay with us til it's time?"

since Clandru can't post for 2-3 more days, I think the scouting is the most relevant due to player time constraints

"Much to my surprise, I agree with the priest, make sure you've gathered everything you need, let those who can remain inconspicuous and do some scouting, where the tempest is ready to be unleashed then we strike!"

Pavo starts as if something suddenly clicked. As this realization dawns, Alistar seems to get slightly agitated and begins to pace widely with his chunk of bread in his mouth. "Are you telling me that Gaedren is the one responsible for taking my sister! He will pay if he has hurt her!" Pavo calms quickly though to let Zellara continue.
Zellara looks seriously at Pavo. "I do not know the answer to your question, but the cards do not lie. You were chosen to be here for a reason. As for the whereabouts of your sister, you must take the matter up with Lamm himself. I can only pray that she has not met the same fate as my Eran."

"Or Calliope..."

"Priest, we're going, perhaps if you come along you can save him from dying...or if he does die, you can take him back to your temple, have him raised and then put on trial."

"While I would prefer to kill him myself, slowly, as long as he dies, whether at our hands since he fails to surrender, or at the hands of the authorities, my thirst for his blood will be satiated!"

"Because he has the authorities corrupted, he's greased the palms of them, they won't touch him, and they won't hold him if he is turned in, but if he surrenders, let us cross that bridge then..."

"That slime will not stand trial, he would walk minutes after his incarceration due to corruption, it's happened before..."

"He WILL die, by Our hands Sorin"

"You want justice priest, fine he shall be tried by his victims, prosecuted by those he's injured and executed by those he's wronged!"
Marra says with conviction and fire in her voice...tears welling up in her eyes.

"I can confirm that location, I have been watching them for the last two years, sometimes they move and I lose them for a month or two, but this is a relatively new hide-away, I could not take them alone, but with you, my Brothers-in-Harm, I know we can take him down. May each of us gain the vengeance which we desire."

"I am Marra. Greetings Zellara. Any enemy of Gaedren is a friend of mine, are you a friend then?"

"Lamm doesn't just keep some Children, he has a stable of children, almost his entire operation is children."

"Dorran, I remember you vaguely...you escaped years before I did, I only escaped two years ago, I escaped with my life, but I left someone behind..." as she strokes Calliope's war razor absent-mindedly

"Yeah, my face does look a little different, courtesy of that pig Lamm."

"I spent 10 years under Lamm's thumb...now I want them as trophies, since he took the only thing I cared for."

"Harrower..." Marra buts in, "They prefer Harrower, not fortune teller"

As she moves over to check out the basket as well...

As dusk falls, Marra opens the door, her eyes taking a few moments to adjust to the darkness. She hears the exchange between the priest and the halfling...that voice...

"Sori? SORI? is that you? The last day I saw you was when you fled from that pile of dung!" Her eyes flash with anger, then it fades back to the dead eyes she's "It's me Marra..I got away two years ago" her voice is almost as dead as her eyes...

Marra looks around the residence

"I got invited here as well...where's our host?"

Dorran, remember you don't know that Marra isn't with Lamm anymore, so me entering the building just before you might be suspicious

Marra watches the others enter and thinks, Well if it's a trap it's not just for me...because those aren't Lamm's flunkies and she begins to move toward the door. apprehension grips her as she wonders if Lamm will finally get what's coming to him. She opens the door and steps inside...

Sergeant Magyar huh? interesting...

watches the halfling go into the building...

"Who was that? So, familiar..."

"A harrow card..." she muttered, having had harrowings in the past, she remembered a dog-eared harrow deck from her younger years as well, playing cards, pretending to do harrow readings, strange that she got this card, for she didn't recognize this card...it was missing from the deck they had.

Others who have been wronged, Marra thought, grim determination rolled over her, perhaps, just perhaps, with these others, she would be able to exact her long planned vengeance, everything in her life revolved around that slime, from her earliest memories she knew nothing else, those few memories she had before Lamm had fled, only the memory of her mother remained...no name just the eyes...

she ran the whetstone over her falcata and Calliope's war razor one more time before gathering her stuff to leave... to get some breakfast.

I don't think I'll need my blanket or bedroll today...so I'll leave them here...that way they won't hinder me should combat break-out.

Marra wipes a tear that had welled up and prepared for this, she hoped it wasn't a trap that Gaedren was setting up, but if it were she'd be ready for that even. She had tried to kill him last year as he made a trip outside his hideaway...if that damn gnome hadn't been there to help him after the dart missed, she could have tried another angle...but again she'd had to tuck tail and run...had he found her? No, if that had been the case, I would not have seen the morning's light...

Marra rehides the coins in her bedroll and blanket in the room. She looks around the room one last time...and departs; heading for breakfast...after breakfast in the common room, she wanders around town, if it were a trap, and she was to die today, she might as well enjoy the day before the sun set.

2 hours before sunset she will set-up to observe the entrance from a distance at first.

Over the weekend I'm going to be doing some freelance drafting so I might not get to post a lot, but I will be posting.

This is gonna be the most cohesive group ever I think, they actually have a reason to be together, and most screwed up in the mind group at the same time...

Let's just leave Calliope and Pavo's sister as different people...

I figured Calliope had been there for several years already 2-3 at least, and either she was slightly older or slightly younger than Marra, hadn't figured that out yet.

EDIT: oh and the rest of us despise him already...Marra is gonna cut off his... OO

I was looking at making that connection, but his sister's only been gone a couple of months, and Marra left 2 years ago. And she's already dead, dunno if Pavo wants to find a living or dead sister, a living sister would actually make a happy ending...at least one soul might be redeemed.

I have been going over the backgrounds of the characters, Dorran, Marra, and Sorin, all have overlapping timeframes with Gaedren Lamb.
Sorin your background said several years, so if you were there longer than 4 years, I can adjust the timeline.
Dorran (22)
Marra (16)
Sorin (18)

So our characters might actually remember each other...There was a 5-6 year period where we were running at the same time.

EDIT: Chart corrected per Sorin's age 12 departure.

Yeah, Marra can sleep a long time after that bath, but not that long...

I need to figure out which inn she's been staying at.

Had to swap the Osirion Khopesh for a Falcata.

Made that decision really late at night, I even took exotic: osirion khopesh, which is a martial weapon...

oops.

I appreciate a DM who asks for characters with a real background...I have wanted to make a character for this adventure for awhile...The initial hook for this specific AP is excellent, making it perfect for creating dynamic characters.

I just keep adding background to Marra...

Hey Pavo, just thought of a fun trick, buy a spellbook, but make it have tear-out scrolls in it, so it's actually a scroll book...then if you ever get captured, they take away the "wizard's" spellbook...leaving you with your full complement of spells when you rest...heh.

Yeah, they reprinted the campaign traits from second darkness.

We could always use those types of characters,

My character has diplomacy, but not a great CHA bonus to back it up. (though I do get a +1 trait bonus)

Of course if you're going to go the route of the magic crafter, that's always welcome as well...I would take craft Alchemy, but that silly "magic-user" requirement...(I don't use that in my home game, Alchemy is mundane, not magical in my game...heh

Hey Clandru if you're having trouble creating the character by hand, try this generator.

PAIZO BOARD LINK

I used it for my bard character at home and it was pretty quick. It's in Excel format.

OK Marra is ready to go...

Encumbrance calculated, Medium Load until she drops her back pack, then she's at Light Load.

Marrala is currently at an inn, sleeping after a hot bath...

Malvoisin wrote:
Xaaon, Marrala looks almost ready. The only real quibble I have now is that I think her skills that get affected by an armor class penalty aren't quite right. The total ACP should be -4 (-8 for Swim) because of the armor and shield.

I didn't add those bonuses into the base skill, that's why they're blue, I'll adjust them as the situation warrants. And if I'm swimming I won't be having a shield with me anyway.

Also I think they eliminated the double armor check penalty for swim. I can't find it on PFOGC and I remember noticing that someone commented on that during playtest.

Malvoisin wrote:

Xaaon, I went over Marra and I see a few things to take a look at.

1. What's her alignment?

Lawful Neutral...fixed...because of her strong leaning toward delivering justice.

Malvoisin wrote:
2. It looks to me like you used only 18 points to assign her ability scores. Don't forget that humans get a +2 bonus in the ability score of your choice.

I had added the +2 I forgot to give myself the extra points for the 9 CHA. FIXED increased STR to 17

Malvoisin wrote:
3. I calculate her Flat-footed AC as 16...

corrected...shields never make sense to me as giving AC when flat footed.

Malvoisin wrote:
4. She can have one bonus language known.

Added goblinoid, not sure if I'll use it in this adventure or not, but we shall see.

Malvoisin wrote:
5. It looks like you have one extra skill rank assigned (six, even though at the top you correctly stated she should have five)

Fixed, removed the rank of sense motive.

Marrala is mechanically done...I think...

I just need to buy gear now, I had to make sure the khopesh was OK before I proceeded, as I might have changed feats, since the next weapon woulda been that big hammer!

I think 2 clerics is a great balance...

Much better than no cleric...a bard would be OK tho.

Pathfinder Campaign stuff is OK for this right? because I took the Osirian Khopesh as an exotic weapon.

Malvoisin wrote:

Hey all,

I'm looking for five players who want to get in on a Curse of the Crimson Throne AP play by post. I know there are already a lot of games running this AP, but I'm hoping there are still some folks out there who'd like to give this a spin.

I'm seeking a balanced party of first level PCs, with no evil alignments please. We'll use a 20 point ability score buy, with max hp and gold to get you started. It'll be a fun one, I promise. :)

Who's on board?

Max HP/Gold, per Malvoison's initial post =)

I have expanded Marra's background as well...it's really sad...

I will work on her tonight.

That background worked out pretty well, definitely a lot going on with her to want revenge on Lamm.

OK Let's go with a fighter.

Spoiler:

A young human girl orphaned at a young age and left on her own on the mean streets of Korvosa, Marrala "Marra" was taken in by Lamm early on. Marra wasn't the most gorgeous girl, which protected her from Lamm's more lecherous activities, most of the time. She was a tough, acting as an enforcer for the other Lost Lambs. She fell in love with another of Lamm's girls (Calliope). When she tried to protect her from Lamm, she was beaten nearly to death to teach her a lesson. She escaped with her life, but not her love...Calliope stood up for herself after Marra left, and she was killed, the second one to stand up to him had be used as an example to prevent the rest of the Lambs from rebelling against him.
