Got it. That is completely different. Thanks! :-)

It's been awhile since I've worked with Pathfinder but I believe you have a mistaken understanding of how the Adopted Social Trait works.

Yep, the bookplate is on the back page, and with confirmation of the location of where to look, the sigs are now obvious! :-)

Hi folks!

I am confused, or maybe blind.

I pledged $75 in the Pathfinder Online Tech Demo at the $75 level and yesterday I received my copy of the poster and Thornkeep, but I don't see any autographs other than the bookplate.

Hi Folks!

Hi Folks!

I checked the FAQ and didn't see an answer for a question that I have.

When a post is flagged as a FAQ, does the specific message flagged get, uh, flagged? Or does the thread get flagged?

Thanks!

Hi Folks!

I've been running these same issues through my head and am hoping I can get an answer . . .

Gnomes of Golarion (GoG), page 14 of the Gnome Traits chapter, includes a statement that all the included traits are considered gnome racial traits and continues to state that only gnomes can take them.

Now, the Adopted trait clearly states that Race Traits can be taken and we have seen in numerous threads here on the Paizo messageboard that there is a difference between Race Traits and racial traits.

GoG then makes the following statement: (Of course, a character of a different race could still select a gnome racial trait if she has the Adopted trait presented in the Pathfinder RPG Character Traits Web Enhancement.).

Each Trait included in GoG is listed as either a Social, Combat, Faith, or Magic Traits, which are normally not allowed to be taken through the Adopted Trait.

So was it the intention of the authors to allow all of the Traits in Gnomes of Golarion to be taken as part of the adopted trait? Or do these Traits, as suggested in a previous message, both Race Traits as well as the trait type specified in the book? Or did the authors make a mistake in the book?

Thanks for any help here.

v6.00.0

I loaded 5164_piazo_pathfinder_alpha_update_07 because I read somewhere that you had to load that to have the Advnaced Players Guide stuff.

7th level Oracle
Picked dual cursed in the Archtype tab.
Under the Class Abilities tab, I have:
Oracles Curse, Haunted
Oracle Mystery, Life Mysteries
Oracle Spell Choice, Cure Wounds
Oracle Second Curse, Tongues Celestial
Life Mystery Revelation, Channel + Energy Body + Combat Healer

All I see in the choices window are the ones listed for the life mystery. It doesn't have the 2 from dual cursed.

Ok, I see what at least part, if not all, of the problem is. You will need to reinstall PCGen 6.00.0 and DO NOT install the 5164 update. That set is not required and will in fact take you backwards in the maturity level of the APG data set. In fact. The APG has seem massive amounts of update since the 5164 update came out.

What sets did you have loaded for your character? Without knowing all of the choices you've made for your character its hard to say which set you'll need, but you will need as a minimum the Core Rules, the APG, and Ultimate Magic loaded. To get Ultimate Magic you will need to make sure you load from he Advanced Source Loading tab.

If it would help, you can send your pcg file to me at maredudd AT blackroot DOT org, and I'll take a more detailed look at it.

I've been trying out PCgen for a couple of days. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't seem to be quite as easy to use as everyone says. But I've started makeing significant progress on building the characters I want. But I do have a few things I couldn't figure out how to do.
So I thought I would ask you folks that have been using it for a while now.

I'll see what I can do to answer your questions, though you might find it easier to drop by PCGen's Yahoo!Group.

Quote:
1) How do I add the 'misfortune' revelation? I've got a dual-cursed oracle. It has the extra revelation it should have at 5th level. But misfortune is not one of the choices.

What version of PCGen are you running?

What sets do you have loaded?
Can you walk me through which Oracle options you have taken?

I created an Oracle and had no problem picking up the Misfortune revelation.

Quote:
2) How do I give a high caster level scroll? Character has a Scroll: Remove Disease at 12th caster level. I couldn't figure out how to do that.

You will need to customize a blank scroll by selecting it and then hitting the 'Add Custom' button. You will then need to add the spell type (Arcane/Divine), add Minor/Medium/Major spell, add Spell Effect, and then identify the Class, Spell Level, Spell Name, Caster Level, and Metamagic feat if desired. Once all this os done you can 'Buy' the scroll.

Quote:
3) How do I give an extra non-standard feat? GM gave my character the Education feat. I think he said it was from Eberron. It makes all knowledge skills into class skills and gives a +1 to 2 of them. I chose religion and planes.

When looking at the Feat subtab on the Feats and Abilities tab, double click on the Feat Remaining field in the lower left hand pane. Edit it to add the nuber of additional feats and hit return. You will now have an additional feat.

Hope this helps.

Since the Opportunist's ability grants the talent, no they would not stack in any way, you'd have a case of overlap (as in you're getting the exact same rogue talent twice) and it would be useless to you. If you were going for this, I would suggest planning your build so that you don't take Trap Spotter as a Rogue, and just wait to get it through the Opportunist class feature.

That is mostly where I was at when I posted. I'm working on a PCGen data set for Halflings of Golarion and am in what I think is the final QA stages before submitting to the full team for review, so I'm working through a few of the potential gotchas. This is one of them. Gotta handle this corner case. :-)

Hi Folks!

Working on a halfling rogue and got a quick question . . .

Does the Rogue Talent, Trap Spotter and the Halfling Opportunist class ability Trap Spotter stack?

Ok, technically, per the description of the Opp's ability description the rogue talent is granted to the Opportunist, but if the prestige class was picked up using rogue levels and the rogue had already taken the Trap Spotter rogue talent, is there any interaction?

Thanks!

For PCGen? I'm not sure what version you are using, so I'm not sure which link to post. I will put this link to the download page. I think the 5.17.8 alpha version of the program has the most recent official data files; for 5.16.4, you'll want to get the Pathfinder APG dataset Update 6, which is the second-most recent. PCGen, the worlds most flexible d20 character generation and maintenance software, announces the release and immediate availability of PCGen 5.16.3!

Download your free copy from PCGen's download page today!

PCGen v5.16.3 is the third patch to PCGen v5.16 and sees some significant additions and improvements to the previous stable version. Among these are a number of new sources added to the standard distribution. These sources include Paizo's Pathfinder Bestiary, previously available as a separate installation only, the Pathfinder Campaign Setting and 4 other Pathfinder sources. Along with these sources we have added Pathfinder conversions for the Pathfinder Campaign Setting and the first three Pathfinder Adventure Paths.

Among the improvements we've made in this patch include fixes for a number of bugs reported since the 5.16.2 production release, but for those that add their own material, the most significant improvement comes in PCGen's built-in LST editors as the PCGen team has paid some long overdue attention to the ailing editors. The results of these improvements mean that our user base once again has a tool with which they can easily add custom material.

Hi Folks!

I just downloaded the app and will be trying it out at the table during the next game but I do have one quick comment.

Using the index at the top of the Spell List page I navigated to the Paladin Spells. I then rotated to move to Landscape mode and ended up looking at the Cleric spells. I then had to scroll down the page to get where I wanted. Sort of made the index useless . . .

Also, it then took me a while to figure out that I have to rotate BACK to portrait mode to get the GUI back. How hard would it be to implement a the 'swipe' functionality to go 'Back'?

Finally, I understand the 'narrow' app concept, but I feel that with that should also come the smaller cost. Think about it. I mean, I've already paid the price so cutting the price now won't effect me, but I likely would not have paid if I had realized the 'narrow' nature of the app . . . and cutting the price would likely lead to greater sales, making up for the cut in price . . .

PCGen, already the worlds most flexible d20 character generation and maintenance software, just got better as the PCGen Team releases PCGen v5.16.0!

Download your free copy of PCGen Today!

Version 5.16.0 is PCGen's latest stable release and brings to the PCGen community some great new features, the two biggest being the Automated Data Converter and full support for Paizo's Pathfinder RPG Beta Playtest edition.

The Automated Data Converter is a separate program that will take any data set, written in clean v5.14.1 syntax, and translate it to the latest syntax. This will make updating homebrew data sets easier, in turn making it easier for the PCGen user base to move to the latest version of PCGen. Users with older data sets won't be able to use the data converter but there are other tools to assist in the conversion of the older sets. More information can be found at PCGen@Yahoo!.

One of the major goals of this release was to bring to PCGen full support for Paizo's Pathfinder RPG Beta Playtest Edition and the PCGen team is proud to say that goal has been achieved! PCGen Users can now create and maintain characters for the Pathfinder RPG. Simply launch PCGen v5.16.0 and under the "Setting" menu change the "GameMode" to "Pathfinder" and you're ready to load the Pathfinder RPG Beta Playtest data set.

In addition to the new Pathfinder RPG Beta Playtest data set, the PCGen team has added 31 other new data sets. Among these new data sets are the first three Pathfinder Adventure Paths from Paizo Publishing Inc., Rise of the Runelords, Curse of the Crimson Throne, and Second Darkness.

To see the full list of improvements check out the Relase Notes.

The PCGen team is always interested in feedback from the PCGen community so feel free to drop by PCGen@Yahoo! with your questions or comments.

Greetings Folks!

If I order the Print Edition of a couple of PF Modules, do I get the PDF as a download for free?

Or do I need to buy a subscription to the PF Modules to get the PDF for free?

Thanks!

I am sure many know about this product, but do they have data sets for the adventure mods too???

PCGen does not currently include the Pathfinder Modules in its collection of data sets but if there is interest, we can certainly look into adding them to our list of supported material, especially as it looks like it would be a simple task to code them up.

Stay tuned . . .
