Hello, I would like to cancel my AP subscription after #54 (my current pending order). I would like to keep my player companion and tales subscriptions.

Thanks

No problem. I was going through Google Reader and went from "marrying eye candy" to that...so I had Paizo on the brain, which probably helped prod the memory of where I had seen that.

Andoran (Pathfinder Companion, Tales Subscriber)

This looks really familiar, and is not attributed. Is this Paizo art?

Hello,
Please cancel my pathfinder modules subscription, but keep my others.

Thanks,

I updated Inros and posted his PFRPG stats. I kept the 3.5 stats below that.

A few upgrades from the new rules. Strength got a boost. Favored enemy is an attack bonus as well as a damage bonus. Skills worked out pretty close, but added swim.

Zoo, how do you want to handle the Urban Ranger's urban tracking ability? It can be used as it is in Unearthed Arcana with the diplomacy skill, or streamlined like the PFRPG tracking (a skill check bonus when applicable). Has not come up yet (or maybe once?), but would probably be easier to just use the PFRPG style bonus?

Andoran (Pathfinder Companion, Tales Subscriber)

Got mine 8/10 also, in the booming metropolis of Stephens City, Virginia.

More good news. My PFRPG core book arrived on Monday.

The planets aligned at the last minute and I will be at GenCon this year. I am pretty excited, because this will be my first time. I used to live in Indy and moved to Virginia just two weeks before the first Indy GenCon.

Hi Gary,
I've noticed that on our PbP thread (http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/community/gaming/playByPost/zoomackul assCurseOfTheCrimsonThrone), that the last post on a page does not show in the RSS feed. It looks like the feed for recent posts resets when there is a new page, and that is causing the last post on a page to get missed by the feed.

HI all,

Just wondering here if someone can please guide me in the direction of a book I know I saw some time back, a d20 setting book that covered American myths, legends, and tall tales. I've been thinking of getting a copy but I've forgotten the title and publisher.

Any help will be vastly appreciated.

I think you are looking for Northern Crown. For only 10 bucks, I might have to pick this up for myself...

I'd say I'm as interested as Heathy. If you start up a game, I would play if my schedule allowed it.

The magic has been worked! Your subscriptions have been unsuspended! ... and welcome back, by the way! :)

The Pathfinder #14 delay will work in your favor, since it gives you a couple of weeks before any automatic activity will occur on your subscriptions.

Please take a moment to swing by your My Subscriptions page, choose your combined shipping option, and update your address.

Your subscriptions will automatically pick up with the next volumes. If you would like us to start dropping your missed volumes in with your subscription shipments, please drop me a line at customer.service@paizo.com letting me know how many (or all) of the missed products you want. Your subscriptions will not catch themselves up automatically, so you will have to inform Paizo Customer Service if/when you want a past volume put in with your subscription shipments.

Thanks,
cos

Thanks! I will email about catching up on the missed goodness.

Under "My Subscriptions", find your address and click "change" to change it. since they were cancelled, it's possible you'll need to activate them again first then change the address.

Actually, from what I read, Cosmo suspended the subscription rather than cancelled it. We do this for folks who need to take a break for a short period of time. When the subscription resumes, they get all the issues that they missed during the subscription suspension shipped to them. IN this way, they keep their subscription intact while still not having them shipped during a time when they don't want them for whatever reason. So I assume that all Cosmo needs to do is unsuspend the sub and away we go!

-Lisa

Lisa is correct. The subs are suspended and need to be unsuspended. But I still need to update my address. I don't see a "change" link on the

"my subscriptions" page. Each subscription lists my old address, but I don't see where to change it to my current address. I may be missing the very obvious, though. I am suffering from Pathfinder withdrawal. The shakes make it hard to read my screen.

Cosmo, I cannot figure out how to change my address for subscriptions. Once I change that, I'll be ready to resume my subscriptions.

So, where do I change my address?

Back to grognard...I don't think it was meant as a jab at pre-4e players. Someone with better knowledge please correct me, but if I remember "grognard" is what Napoleon called his grumbling veterans. That fits the PC description fairly well.

Hi, I am moving in a few weeks. Is it possible to suspend my subscriptions until early September after we get moved and settled? I am worried that the very important August shipment will get lost. My current post office has enough trouble with regular deliveries, let alone if it has to get forwarded someplace else.

Paper Moon by Andrea Camilleri. I love the Montalbano books.

I added Inros' description, including where he lives. I also moved the invisible castle stats link to the homepage URL entry. Now, the languages entry appears correctly, too. Wonder if that is a coincidence.

Hi, if there is still room, I'm interested in playing a fighter. I'd tie it in with the missing child character trait...I am thinking using the missing son or daughter trait, but really it would be a much younger sister I was supposed to keep an eye on when she was kidnapped.

one more missing gazetteer. My shipment came today with Escape from Old Korvosa but without the Gazetteer. Thanks in advance.

In other news, Paizo creates the first working perpetual motion machine, turns lead to gold, and builds the first man-made cold fusion reactor. At least, after this news, I am expecting the RPG equivalent...

Wolfknight wrote:
Anyone know how well this compares to DMgenie software?

I have both, and they are very different. This version of RPGXplorer is just a character sheet generator and rules reference. You can track inventory, equipment, experience, etc, but it is not designed to be used in-game like DMG. They are working on a separate DM tools version for that. They are also working on adding "Familiars, Animal Companions, Special Mounts, Mounts and other Companions" to the player version in the next update.

RPGX also has free datasets for pathfinder available on paizo.com and rpgxplorer.com.

DMG, assuming you are familiar with it, does just about everything, but is difficult to customize some things. RPGXplorer does not do as much, but is much easier to customize. I think it is also easier to use.

You will definitely want to download the trial versions to see what they can do, and how different they are. They are both good tools, but do some different things, and some same things differently.

hi guys,

I also have been considering going straight crits for my games lately. My thought is to balance the easier crits with critical misses (and use the fumble deck when it ships to balance the crit hit deck).

My two big issues with the crit threat are:
1) As the OP pointed out, it can be more exciting when you get the crit right then and there, or maybe more accurately it is deflating when you don't get a crit after the threat; and

2) in the classic case (natural 20 and double damage), the crit threat system really means that instead of a crit, you actually get one extra attack (for a total of two normal damage attacks if you confirm). When I think of it that way, it kind of kills the excitement for me. I have a harder time picturing the sweetspot attack.

But looking at some of the thoughts here, I probably will stick with the standard threat system, or try Fakey's system.

In support of keeping the threat, as Seeker and others said, the build up of the threat can add to the excitement (and can make the crit more special - but it does suck when the threat is not confirmed).

On the other hand, to address Navior's concern, I don't have a problem with the low BAB character having a higher percentage of hits end up as crits. I think that makes sense. Imagine a two-on-one street fight, a big brawler teamed up with a weakling against a tough opponent. The strong brawler can do a bit of damage to a tough enemy with just about any hit, but the weakling won't do much damage with a normal hit, he needs to hit a sensitive spot. A kick to the groin, an eye gouge, etc. And those hits might do more damage than the brawler's normal hits. But it may be harder for the weakling to get to they eye gouge or groin kick. To interpret that to DnD, the fighter is gonna do steady damage each hit, but the sorcerer with his crossbow or small blade and lack of combat prowess won't do much unless he hits the enemy in the neck or something. While these examples seem to blur with the sneak attack concept, I see crits and sneak attacks as two sides of the same coin. Crits are lucky hits to sensitive areas, sneak attacks are well placed hits to sensitive ares (which is why the extra-attack threat system irks me as I said in issue 2 above). So I am OK with the result Navior is worried about (as he said, it is a matter of taste).

I do have to say, I think Fakey's system might be a good balance.

But for a rulebook, I'd say Lilith has it right. Keep it in and houserule whatever system suits your group's taste.

(This was a long-winded way of saying "keep the status quo").

These I agree with, but with some modifications:

(snip)

2) Book of Orginizations. Give players a reason to buy it as well. Making it villain/evil only, makes it a GMs supplement for the most part. And not categorizing an orginization as "good" or "evil" but instead an orginization that does some good things and some not so nice things makes for much better for plot hooks. Add in orginization specific PrCs/feats and people for players to look up to can add alot to flesh out a world.

Organizations book is the first thing I thought of. I lean to DMcCoy's position...a broad spectrum of organizations from around Golarian, not just evil groups.

Hi, I'm in a similar situation to Festivus in the other thread. I ordered the critical hit deck with a preorder for Monster Ecologies. Is it possible to split the order to ship separately now ME cannot ship until May 23rd? I'll gladly pay the shipping cost difference. My wife is anxious to use the crit hit deck to slice and dice her way through the bad guys...

Thanks!
