If Paizo can't handle the previews, Wizkids should handle them, they are able to.
This isn't the first time that the minis blogs are delayed, in fact it happens time and time again, it sadly has become the norm.
I and other people have communicated often enough that we don't need some nice little stories about the creatures in the set, but a simple list of what creatures are in the set first and foremost to make a decicision about preordering a case or not.
Pictures of the minis are nice, renders are okay too, but the list with NAME, SIZE & RARITY is really all that is needed.

I remember that Jeff Alvarez (great guy) was going above and beyond the call of duty when the same delays happened with the last minis set and just posted the names of the minis in a spoiler, which made me order a case.
Is that at least possible?

Hello,

I'm glad our friends at the Gallant Goblin gave you what you were seeking. This is the first time I've heard that preview blogs before our subscription authorization date are considered too late by someone. (These minis were moved up from an estimated April release, so we were caught unaware and are now hustling.) Wizkids and Gallant Goblin will continue to do what they do, of course. Regardless of this particular set, please tell me what your ideal preview method and timing from Paizo would be. I can work with Wizkids to move timelines forward. Two months before release? Photos, not renders. Anything else? Thanks.

Thank you for asking, Aaron.

In this particular case you are absolutely right that it was an unexpected move by Wizkids, that you didn´t have much say in and Mark did the best he was able to provide on such a short notice and in the current covid situation.

I did complain about the lateness of previews for the last three or four sets before this one, though.

For international buyers like myself (Germany) there are often order deadlines from distributors like Blackfire.eu but also Diamonds Previews, which in extreme cases give you only one week (usually the deadline is about three months before street date) to decide if you want to order something or not (the order deadline for Starfinder Battles: Planets of Peril scheduled for a march release has already expired for instance).

Your suggestions are excellent.
For me personally a set list with miniature name, size and rarity would be the most important thing. It is understandable that some last minute changes can still happen to such a list.
This would be the first thing needed time-wise and if possible three-and-a-half months before release would suffice to make a decision for me.

The next thing to possibly show are probably renders, which always whet the appetite for most people and i think large or huge minis are the most interesting to show, as well as the premium set.

If possible, pictures of prototypes or even actual miniatures posed against each other would be the next thing that would be great to see in advance.

Thank you for your time and have a great time getting well into the next year, Aaron and everybody else at Paizo and out there!

I hope we can get a set list for "Starfinder Battles: Planets of Peril", the very first of hopefully many Starfinder prepainted sets in early january and it would be great if the 20th(!) Pathfinder Battles set coming later in 2021 could be revealed in a timely fashion after that. :-)
Aaron Shanks wrote:Marco Massoudi wrote:The Pathfinder looks stupid, the rest is pretty cool, even though i don't like gnomes.
I ordered a case today, before the preview went up, but not because of these blogs which are always too late to make an educated decision about a case or not buy, but because of the Gallant Goblin full set list.
In my opinion Paizo should stop doing these blogs after this set and leave it to Wizkids or the Gallant Goblin to do future ones, not because of the...Marco Massoudi2020-12-29T11:09:19ZRe: Forums: Miniatures: Paizo Blog: The Last Minis Preview (of 2020)Marco Massoudihttps://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo6shiw?The-Last-Minis-Preview#62020-12-28T22:22:15Z2020-12-28T22:21:06Z
9 renders are yet to be shown, we have already seen the "Norn" in the ICV2 preview and it is on the box art.

The Witchwyrd (DR#43) is a medium rare mini, not a medium uncommon.
I think that is okay, as there are very few appearing in Pathfinder adventures as this is a Starfinder creature also and we may get an uncommon version in Starfinder Battles (first set out in march 2021).
One correction to Mark´s blog:
Every mini looks amazing and there are NO undersized minis.

Bad news:
There are a lot of uncommons you get only 1 of in a case and there was one mini (24b) that was missing in the case, which probably is a correlation error.
There is a lot of breakage because of the two larges in one box, of which only one is anchored to the plastic inlay, the other one is loose.
The worst thing may be that all four huge Leng Spiders were broken!

Observations:
There are 50 different minis plus two variants (52 total) and NO Dungeon dressing in the set.
One noticable thing:
The "Irnakurse" is indeed a large mini on a huge base.
Good news:

It wasn't one in PF 1e and it isn't one in Second Edition either.

Basically i said that i don't need a Alien Archive 4, as 3 volumes (and the Alien Archives sections in the AP volumes) are more than enough for me.

We played Starfinder and liked it, we also played Pathfinder second Edition and didn't like it and we played Pathfinder 1e and still love it.

Unfortunately due to covid-19 it's impossible to meet in person for the next months and i do not need a 4th Alien Archive in my life.

Stay safe and stay home, everybody.

You need Fantasy Grounds in your life.

We were able to play in person again until the end of october and have played online three times in november.

I really don´t like playing online for multiple reasons (we are seven players and had to switch to online while finishing book five of a six book Pathfinder campaign).

Everybody in our group agrees that playing online is a very poor substitute for meeting in person, but it is better than not playing at all for the time being.

I have thousands of minis and really like my WarLock Tiles terrain and i would probably stop playing rpgs for a while if the current lockdown is extended (which looks to be the case until march 1st).

I will finish "Curse of the Crimson Throne", even if the last few sessions will be online only, but after that i have no interest in ever playing pen & paper online again in my life. ;-)
James Goodman 960 wrote:Marco Massoudi wrote: Leon Aquilla wrote: Marco Massoudi wrote:And i'm out.
