Background:
"Malum is special." at least that would have been his mother's excuse for him had she not died giving birth to the monster. Malum has always been drawn to evil acts and people thought it was because of how much his father resented him for being alive but that was when he was younger. around the age of eight or so when humans begin to grow quickly and change Malum did not. He never grew more then waist high and when taken to a physician it was discovered that he was not a human, but a Gnome.

It took time but with a few spells and a body it was confirmed that Malum's mother was never an unfaithful woman. This changed the way people looked at the young Gnome; instead of a sorrow, jealousy or anger it was a look of fear.

"Malum Asasinato I am sending you to the church to rid you of your evil spirits and that's final!" were the last words his father spoke to him. Malum was a no good child and broke the law when he could. This is bad press for a father who works as an ambassador for the kingdom. So he was sent away to a church in the middle of the Living district to be converted to a life of goodness, well at least lawfulness. This multiple domination church fortunately, or unfortunately, had a shrine dedicated to the Evil god Norborger who called to Malum while he slept. Night after night of terrible dreams kept Malum from sleeping until he answer the call and was enlightened by the god himself and given his powers.

After that day Malum found himself changed forever. As did everyone else, the only difference his how we perceive his change. To most he seemed like a law abiding citizen who cared for the well beings of people. He was then sent home to his resentful father who was relived that his son could actually be worth something.

To him he was even more maniacal then before, and to his friends in the underworld of the city (The black market and organized crime lords etc...) he became a born leader who worked his way up the chain of command until he was second only to the city's greatest crime lord.

recently he was convicted of treason this was due to his father using him as a scapegoat while he actually had a hand in the act unbeknownst to his father. An act of getting bribed by a warring party of Orcs for entrance into the city killing many people. You gotta make money some how.
