I do a similar thing via a different technique. I have various Photoshop files filled with patterns (such as one filled with the trees I used on the City of Greyhawk map) created by drawing a small part and copying it over and over flipped and rotated in various positions and blending each copied piece making it virtually impossible to see the repetition. Then use the clone tool to "paint" it around wherever I need it.

I downloaded the Adventure Begins, and the City Map is lacking. Looks like parts of the map were not scanned entirely. Anyone else notice this problem?

The CoG map I redrew for LGJ#2 supercedes the Adventure Begins anyways, so if you can't get a hold of a copy of LGJ#2 from Paizo (if indeed it is not a website-error), you can find a low-resolution version of the map with pop-up labels (plus my never published sewers map) on my website at http://melkot.com/locations/cogh/cogh.html

Some of the location numbers have changed (most are the same), but you can find the updated map index at http://melkot.com/locations/cogh/cog-index.html

Including expansions on City of Greyhawk materials.

Sorry... just saw this today. (And only just discovered the Age of Worms message board today also!) Yup, you can find lower-res versions of my map at the address grodog posted (I'd dearly love to make available a higher-resolution version, but you know....)

Also, Erik never got around to posting the url way back for the "web enhancement" of Maldin's shop described in the AoW Wormfood article a few Dragons ago. It includes a floor plan of the shop's showroom that DMs can use.
http://melkot.com/locations/cogh/maldins.html
You'll also find several other City of Greyhawk locations described (and the number will continue to increase over time). Perhaps I can convince Erik to do a couple as part of our series once the Mighty Abyssal Tome is out of his hair. ::wink wink, nudge nuge::

Keep an eye on my site map page to see what becomes available.

Wormfood: Despite not being terribly useful to me (buying magic items in Eberron is covered in Sharn, which I do own), this article does have a few interesting NPCs that may see use in other games.

If anyone is interested in an expansion of my shop, Maldin and Elenderi's shop of the arcane, first described in the Living Greyhawk Journal #2 and re-appearing in Dragon 337, I've put up on my website some additional information and a map you can show to players at http://melkot.com/locations/cogh/maldins.html

Keep an eye out for more City of Greyhawk information in the future.

Bummer... my first attempt to post this got swallowed into the ether. Hope it doesn't magically appear after I send this 2nd attempt.

If you'd like an artifact of truly cataclysmic effect, try my take on the Codex of Infinite Planes. Its not good or evil, but its incredibly dangerous in either hands... capable of effecting entire planets. While I've kept it compatible with whats been written before about the Codex, I've expanded it greatly and intricately interweaved it with my campaign (Greyhawk and beyond) history. You can easily take the flavor of what I've written for a history, and change it to fit the history of your own campaign world. You can find the latest version of my Codex article (including Priests of the Codex!) at http://melkot.com/arcane/codex.html
It truly is the Greatest Artifact in my own campaign, for a whole host of reasons.

As a side note... those who would like a map of Maldin and Elenderi's shop as presented in the Age of Worms Wormfood article in the newest issue of Dragon (337) can check out the "web expansion page" for the shop on my website at http://melkot.com/locations/cogh/maldins.html

For 10 years, my primary group's arch nemesis was a Suel archmage lich that for most of that time they had no idea why this guy had it out for them so badly. This guy kept turning up, and they kept thwarting his plans. Then they did the "back-in-time" adventure that is described on my "Secrets of the Twin Cataclysms" webpage (site URL below) where they met a young mage who was apprentice to the Suel Council and accidentally got him in such trouble with the Council that he was banished just before the Rain of Colorless Fire hit. They then learned it was the same mage that had become the lich.

Eventually they had a major show down with the lich while trying to break into Marchanter's personal quarters in Melkotia Castle (also on my website), a castle built by a very powerful archmage and abandoned 40 years before. The lich was permanently destroyed, however that same adventure saw the release of Marchanter from his magical prison, an archmage very much alive and alot more powerful then the lich ever was. Besides being an even higher level wizard, he wields many unique magic items, has had access to artifacts, and (unlike the undead minions the lich controlled) controls fiends as his minions.

My fav personal PC... My second ever character and online namesake, Maldin (of course!) created in the fall of 1980 and still going. Archmage. Both savior and destroyer of worlds. Ok, maybe that's a bit of a hyperbole. But just a bit.

My fav official NPC... Page 10 of the Living Greyhawk Journal Issue #2. Maldin!! (of course) ;-)

There are advantages to being a writer/designer. Alas, "financial" is not one of those. I really feel for the guys who try to make a living from it.

Maldin,
Thanks for the info, I definately found your site, and I like what I see. I might be able to work it into the campaign I am going to be running. Going to be in the area between the Dreadwood and the Hool Marsh. Lizardmen arise! Right now I am just working on linking adventures, but it should be fun.

Cool... Regarding Melkot, keep an eye in the coming months for more info on the city and the castle. You might also find my "Dreadwood" page helpful too. Encounter tables, a neat mini-adventure, and some other info. I've had several PC's originate from the Dreadwood (and Melkot), as well as adventure in the region. Hmmm... a few short adventures I've done might make interesting uploads as well. So much to do, and so little time!!!

I am trying to find information on the city of Melkot in Greyhawk. The only reference to it I can find in a quick glance of the Gazzeteer is under the TORs hill listing. Where can I find more detailed information?

Well, as the creator and sole designer of the City of Melkot, I think I can answer that question. ;-)

Other then several brief mentions of Melkot in the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer, in the D&D Gaz, its placement on the various maps from those publications and subsequent maps (such as Dungeon's new Campaign maps), a few brief mentions in the Living Greyhawk Journal, and perhaps something in the Yeomanry RPGA regional info... the only place you can find information on that city is on my website "Maldin's Greyhawk" at http://melkot.com
Strange about that URL, eh? Anyways, once you're at my website go to "Greyhawk Locations", and you will see a link that leads to the Melkot section, with information about the city, the regional history, a powerful cult, and of course... Melkotia Castle. Let me know what you think of my little city. More will likely get posted this summer.

Hope you enjoy it.
