Background

Spoiler:

When Jagor left, the rest of the clan went about their days as if he'd never been there, all except Makoa. He kept in contact with him, knowing he'd started a new life in the city. The clan knew this, and made things much tougher on Makoa for this. They'd start fights, and Makoa would have to do whatever it took to get them to back off. He actually ended up killing a couple of his clanmates in doing so. In an attempt to get rid of Makoa, they convinced the seer to tell him something, anything to make him go away. She pointed him toward the city, and the next day, the clan was gone. Abandoning Makoa, and moving on. Seeing little choice in the matter, he went to the city to find Jagor.
After being shown the city, he knew he'd need some money, so he gets jobs as a 'knee-breaker' or bouncer once in a while. These jobs mostly occur at places that include gambling in some form, and Makoa picked up a little about how to play some of these games.
Makoa has been informed (via Jagor) about the tournament at the Gold Goblin, and has decided to participate in the event.
