I think the Korvosa book was my favorite work by Mike.

I fear nothing, Aberzombie.

Except clowns, but let's not talk about that.

I was informed that FAWTL is up to #5. I'm impressed. I'll be back in 6 or 7. Keep up the great work everyone!!

Carry on. Carry on.

WHAT!?

Did I miss anything? I like seeing some of the new aliases. Carry the torch high.

Hey, one of them was actually quite nice!

The rest of was... Uh. They weren't bad, but they seemed... Bland? Sparkless?

I am used to not being picked into top five of anything, but if I am not in the finale I would like to lose to awesome competitors, not to "not bad".

Okay, let me know which one to go back and give a second look to. Maybe I was grumpy.

Pathfinder Tales Subscriber

Congratulations, Jason! I've enjoyed reading Fortune's Fool, even though I haven't gotten to play it yet.

I heard that Erik Mona, through his superior negotiating skills, has gotten TOR to also bring back Planet Stories! Erik and Pierce will retain control over the series while TOR will bring greater distribution and deeper pockets for negotiating with authors, publishers retaining rights, and literary estates.

Maybe creating and spreading a rumor will make it happen.

I found a box at Hobby Lobby that works pretty well. Such a nice deck. Big improvement over the original.

Anyone yet read Buried Giant ?

Hey, that's pretty much how I imagine myself, too!

Don't punish Freehold's spiritual development into a Humanist.

Joss Whedon is also a Humanist.

Snort! He doesn't have to be a Presbyterian humanist!

I love the new genetic research that shows that the British Isles belong genetically to the parts of Europe where there were large Celtic populations and that there is little appreciable range. Englishmen are not Saxons (sorry, Irish and Scottish ideologues). They're Celts who picked up a Germanic language. Latins, Germans, and Scandinavians pitched in their little bits, but the isles have remained British. But then, I'm proud to be parts of all the isles, even if I'm not always proud of what various people have done.

Psst...Pax...check the post before yours...

I wouldn't feel right about hosting a link to the compendium without Gene's permission. With it, I'd be happy to.

Yeah, but...me and Jyu1ch1! In magical Boerne!

Forty aliases...child's play. On an unrelated note, I'm apparently going insane from trivial memory loss. Is that a thing?

Hey, Orthos! What's shakin'?

My take away from the last couple of weeks' reading: Jonathan Howard, Good. James Enge, Better.

Anchor, Kelsey? I've been enjoying Anchor Porter, lately. Prost!

Howdy, Tacticslion.

Dave, hope you're surviving Lent without me.

Freehold! Long time!

I'm glad to see old threads going strong.

Hey, how about this Tor thing?

Pathfinder Tales Subscriber

Sorry guys. My means of contacting Gene seem to no longer work. Gene, if you come back and see this, I hope you are well. It's been a long time. PM or Email me.

Pathfinder Tales Subscriber

Well, I'd be willing to run a 5e game. (Or maybe a PF Basic or S&WC game.) Thanks for asking for us!

Pathfinder Tales Subscriber

Yeah, I really appreciate what you do with the PFS in San Antonio, Dragnmoon. I did actually have a fun time when I gave PFS a try, but it doesn't really hit the itch that I want to scratch: the kind of play experience that arises in a home game where you really get to explore certain characters, settings, etc. with the same people over time.

Thanks for the CoC invite. I'd love to give it a try, but you hit on the real issue: the drive to Cibolo. I have 1-3 more players from Atkins if I could meet them halfway, but even that has really proved to be too much. The demands of life are such that I need to have a game up here to fit into my packed life in terms of time.

Middle-aged academic dad and college-aged daughter looking to start or join a gaming group in Boerne, Texas. Two experienced players, one experienced DM/GM. Role-players, not roll players. Setting negotiable. Non-smokers with cats.

Preferably D&D 5th edition. Will also consider Pathfinder or Swords & Wizardry Complete.

I'd love to see the link for the Patch Man fixed.

Curiosity drove my looking into the play-test. From it, and the discussion since the play-test, I started -- to my strong surprise -- to be interested in this revision of D&D and to find my attitude toward WotC changing. The new version seems like a desire to take some of the advances of 2e and 3.x D&D and work them into a simpler system than either one of them are on their own. The sensibilities seem to be Old School and simplicity, the old and the new -- and an overall repudiation of 4e. (Hey, they did come up with a few cool names and concepts, even if you hate the mechanics and the radicalization of the Realms.)

Since I play Pathfinder and Swords & Wizardry (and have dabbled in LotFP) I will most certainly give D&D a shot on its release. Whether I buy things from WotC or not is an open question, but if I did, Paizo still puts out so many things that I like, that even if my game dollars were divided, I can't imagine no longer sending Paizo my business.

Pathfinder Tales Subscriber

I also need to cancel my comics subscription. Thanks.

Sure, you could assemble a pdf for your use, EldonG. But I have a feeling something even cooler will develop out of this Badgerian Bestiary.

I wish my initial post had been clearer that I was moving from anti-climatic to climatic. Heh.

So, this is going to be more unique monsters than typical? I hope so!

And now for an anti-climatic announcement! This is my blog. Just as work has sucked away all the time I used to spend on Paizo, it has also taken most of the time I spent blogging.

RPG Superstar 2012 Mike Welham stepped in and began a Friday creature feature, then he put the pedal to the mental metal and created a monster for each day of the A-Z blogging challenge. Here you will find some wonderful offerings for your Pathfinder game, many with some surprising extras tied-in at the end.

Check out Mike's monsters!

I really enjoyed the story of the comics, I found the characterization and flow really well put together. Unfortunately, I was never able to get past the art, there is nothing wrong with the art per-say, it is well executed, and a novel style, but it isn't in the style of Pathfinder products.

I'm sorry to hear that Andrew's art didn't strike a chord with you. The second story arc has a new artist on board and you can see some samples of his page art on his art page here:

http://jakebilbao.deviantart.com/gallery/

I hope you like what you see there and are willing to give the series a chance with the second story arc starting with issue #7+.

I had a stronger negative reaction to the art than Galnörag did, but I am very glad to see the new artist and am going to resubscribe because of him.

Or is it Jake Bilbao? In either case.
