Similar to a lot of posts above, here is my situation:

1. As an AP subscriber, I already have the pdf if I want to print out any maps.

2. The Map Folios are still in shrinkwrap at my house. (I have reviewed the contents in the pdf file of the map folios and decided to leave them in the shrinkwrap.)

3. If I could skip these in my subsciptions, I would skip them.

And making quality beer is an ART ;-)

It's widely known that everything Lisa touches turns to gold. Great business decision on this one too!

I picked up a few of the books at my local bookstore and have been enjoying them over the summer. I decided to do my part to help the line succeed.

Was it really just two years ago that Paizo released DO Hollow's Last Hope for Free RPG Day 2007? I believe that launched the product line. My how time flies! I still remember running down to my FLGS to secure a copy and running home to read it from cover to cover. Wow!

I attended the PaizoCon seminar on Planet Stories. Definetely an interesting product line that I had not heard much about prior to your talk. I really enjoyed hearing James, Pierce, Erik, et al talking about the line, and hearing some of the back stories behind the individual authors.

I was checking into a subscription at 30% off cover ($12.99 cover price - reduced to about $9 with the old format), but realized they are increasing to $14.99 or $15.99 with the new format. Even at 30% off, I think I will hold off on a subscription for now and just pick up a few individual books that jump out at me.

I am thinking something along the lines of melted butter, marshmallows, peanut butter, cereal and food coloring.

How well did I do on my detect ingredients roll? Does holding a wooden spoon grant me a +2?

I hope to run a sequel next year if you all are interested.

I had a lot of fun playing Yibs the Gnome rogue in it. Now if only I could have rolled to hit something with my crossbow, I might have helped the party avoid a little damage! Thank Shelyn for the lucky sneak attacks. Glad we survived.

I had to suspend all my subscriptions a while back due to economic reasons. Seeing all the great stuff I missed at Paizocon made me realize I will find other cutbacks in my life. This stuff is just too cool to miss!

How do I get signed back up again? If possible, I would like to start off with all the stuff I missed. Am I still able to get the pdfs for those products too? Not sure how reinstatement works...

The Paizo folks are real and they are spectacular. The fans are just friendly gamers who really "get" how to roleplay. I had a blast and I hope to see all of you again in 2010!

Similar to above posts - I was able to edit my events and save them, but they did not update on my schedule. When I go back to my events page, they are checked correctly. It is just the schedule that is not updating. Logged out, cleared cookies, logged back in - same story. (#23 on FRI and #24 on SAT do not appear in my schedule)

EDIT: After saving the changes several times, they now show up in my schedule. So please ignore this post.

Currently I only have one PFS character. I started at 1st level and have only progressed to 2nd level.

What should I do to get ready for playing in several PFS sessions at PaizoCon? Can I only make new 1st level characters that have to "earn" their way up by playing, or can I jump in and make, for example, a new 5th level character?

I am signed up for #23 (tiers 1-5) and #24 (tiers 1 to 7).

This thought will probably get completely lost in this thread but here goes:

I am one of those completionist folks who likes to have everything for the game I am playing (Superscriber). I am starting to see a point where there are going to be so many products that I cannot possibly keep up. Instead of picking and choosing certain product lines to keep up with, I am more likely to just stop all of them.

This is not necessarily specific to the PRPG rules line, but the combination of rules expansions along with the Pathfinder AP, Chronicles, Modules, Companions, etc.

I sense my same reaction that I had with 2e. There was just SO much stuff coming out, so rapidly, that I lost interest in "keeping up" and just hunkered down with what I currently owned.

Lot's of options for folks to pick and choose from is a good thing on one hand, but it also becomes overwhelming for others too. Something to consider.

Maybe I am the only one who feels this way. Maybe not?

I was/am able to picture Obama, Biden, Clinton, McCain, Romney etc. as leader of the free world. I cannot picture Palin in that role no mater how good my imagination. One heartbeat away. Given McCain's 72 years, this is a very real possibility.

I try to read everything in the order it is released. I just finished PF #10 last night (11 is next, 12, 13 are arriving today...) I read the adventure paths from cover to cover.

I am way behind on reading/skimming the various guides (skim), modules (read some/skim others), and supplements (skim).

I love everything Paizo is publishing, but I do get concerned about too many books coming out. I think back to the late TSR days where there was just no way to keep up with so many books coming out each month, so after a while you end up buying less and less. Pretty soon you feel like you are missing way too much to ever catch back up, so you move on to something else. I like the various product lines, but hope they settle into a schedule that leaves us wanting more, not feeling like there is just too much to keep up with each month.

For players who are new to Paizo and Golarion, will the Guidebook give them enough info on its own to jump into the setting (and give them a feel for the world)?

Will scenarios contain spoilers for other scenarios? Could a group have 1 DM one scenario, and then another DM for another scenario? (I am thinking in the context of a home game here where we have the same group of people from game to game.)

Hey Lilith, I went to timeanddate.com to try to figure out what time this chat would be for me (in Sydney Australia). Doing the conversion, 6pm Wednesday PST is 11am Thursday for me BUT it says that GMT at the same time is 1am not 2am. So just want to check that I have done the conversion right … Are you guys adjusted for daylight savings or anything?

Sounds like we will hear more details on/around Aug 1st, so these questions might be premature:

Home games:
1. How soon after GenCon will the scenarios be released for home play?
2. As a current registered Paizo subscriber, what do I need to do to "register" myself and others for a home group?

General:
1.Can your group change factions along the way? (Or can this only be done after they retire at 12th level and players start over a 1st level with new characters?)

Fees:
1.Has the fee for pdf downloads been determined yet?

PaizoCon:
1. Any thoughts on how PS games might work at PaizoCon 2009?

I have my sidecart full of DCC pdfs and I noticed there is sales tax added. (I am a Washington State resident if that makes a difference.) Is this new? I think it is the first time I have seen sales tax added on pdfs.

We have been playing 2 person games with each of us running 2 investigators. Looks like we need to find some more players, or try playing with more investigators per person. It looks like our biggest disadvantage is the reduced number of options and added turns that comes from 4 investigators, rather than 8 investigators, running around Arkham.

Is there enough interest to get a couple of tables of games going for monthly Society games at Third Place Books? Since these are about 4 hour one-shot games (AFAIK), there could be opportunity to rotate players and DM's from month to month.

Third Place Books commons in Lake Forest Park has a room off to the side of the food court that works well for several tables of games.

Any overall strategy tips to share for the base game?

(In playing about a half a dozen games, we try to run around and pick up all the clue tokens, then work on closing gates, and then killing off monsters. This method has not served us well: Too many gates open, city full of monsters, terror track advancing, etc.)

I keep having the same problem with my card. It's not just you. Either that or we both have a case of dumb.
