(Male Human Monk 3)

"That isn't a bad idea. Start to burn it and anything that survives we kill." Lord's hand rests comfortably on his Kama as they continue on their way. He watches the barn for anything out of the ordinary.
Perception Check. (1d20+9=14)

(Male Human Monk 3)

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
The old man nods still glancing cautiously at Flash.

Lord raises an eyebrow at the curious inspection, but otherwie doesn't comment on it.

He accepts the rations with a sigh and heads out with the rest of the Monks. "So let's get moving then." He starts of in the direction of the ford at a trot (sort of a walking jog).

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord Flash sneers at the whole lack of order this area seems to be under. Fort in disarray, reckless Gnolls. He contemplates leaving the whole lot of them to wipe each other out, before remembering his legally binding promise.
He sighs audibly and says, "we shall scout the area and determine the best course of action when we finish. The stupid creatures won't know what hit them.

Stupid creatures... hahahahaha!!! They are probably smarter than Lord is, although not smarter than he thinks he is! ;)

Hey guys, I'm going to be offline probably for a couple of days. I've got an interview in another city. Be back Tuesday night. Chat amongst yourselves.

Good Luck

Tallis Kotellos wrote:
"I have one. Why should we sneak into the gnoll camp, other than not having to eat the gnome when the food runs out?"

Lord Flash snorts in laughter at this, quickly bringing it under control. It's the first time you've seen him show any kind of real emotion since the journey began.

"I agree with Tallis. This was clearly not in our job description when we were railroaded into accepting this job. Why should we help you do this?"

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord Flash has remained silent throughout this whole exchange, merely staying to the back and watching the proceedings.
He does notice Bandle's perusal of him and after his sneer does little to deter the excitable Gnome he gives up and simply absorbs. "It is wise to know the strengths and weaknesses of those around you so as to better understand their nature," his old Master once said and it is a piece of advice that he has taken very seriously and has kept him alive on more than one occasion.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord quietly follows the others in through the gate, sneering at the stupidity and lack of discipline amongst the defenders. "How easy it would be to kill them and create some real order and authority in this backwater outpost."
He wisely keeps these thoughts to himself however and walks with his hands held straight beside him, palms facing forward to show that he is 'unarmed' and cooperating.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord shrugs at Jackie's question and watches the guards warily. Children could be a bit jumpy and he didn't want one of them getting nervous and turning him into a pincushion. He makes sure to try and get as much cover as he can between himself and the archers just in case (whether that be chickens, Faruq or another party member).

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord spends his time in the wagon studying the surrounding area and trying to talk as little as possible with those around him. He is wary that former enemies in a fighting arena should be getting so close to each other and is just waiting for someone to stab him in the back, especially Jackie after what Lord did to him.

(Male Human Monk 3)

"I shall sit in the back."
He climbs up and sits opposite Jackie.
Diplomacy Check. (1d20-2=5)

(Male Human Monk 3)

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
Who's going to make the diplomacy check for the ride?

Does anyone not have Charisma as a total dump stat???

(Male Human Monk 3)

Replace the two Potions and two lots of Caltrops I used and save the rest for a rainy day.

"No horses suits me as well. If you can't walk there it's probably not worth seeing."

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lil' Jakie wrote:
"I know I could use a visit to an apothecary or priest to take care of this headache someone was giving me."

Lord Flash aproximates a grin, it is obvious it is not something that he is used to. "As far as I was aware, that was the purpose of being there."

I'm happy to just split the cash and do our own shopping (I have a couple of potions to replace and I'll see what else I can jig up with the remainder). I promise Lord Flash won't make any trouble...
;)

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord Flash sits and listens to what is going on quietly, finally speaking up.
"Well I don't have the money to pay, so in that case I guess I am helping." He sighs audibly.

He turns his head as the Gnome starts to talk and after the little Monk is finished he gives him a disdainful look before turning away to ignore him.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
"Left. No, right. Hhhow did you hhhappen to end up hhhere?" asks Hashal breathing hhheavily on you.

He looks at Hashal funnily as he speaks, but otherwise keeps quiet.

He takes an interest in the fact that they exited by the same way he entered, but for now remains silent and watches.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord considers fighting his way out, but then reconsiders as he sees the others giving up. He doesn't really want to fight the guards all by himself.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord Flash sees the opening and looks around at the others, before taking his chances and aiming straight for the gate takes off.

Dodge, Double Move out the door. fin.

(Male Human Monk 3)

And me with this optimized Character with no Roleplaying potential... (well very little at least, I did give the token background)

(Male Human Monk 3)

Tallis Kotellos wrote:
Let's face it, I just don't really want to permenantly retire Tallis just yet.

Not with a fancy picture and all. ;)

(Male Human Monk 3)

:(
I'm still keen to continue, but it has fallen into direpair slightly, so ultimately I'm not worried either way.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord takes another quick swing at the Zombie ahead of him before retreating back to the edge of the water pit.
Attack Zombie with Masterwork Kama. (1d20+6=22)
Damage. (1d6=1) well that was pitiful...
"Can theses things swim?"

Spoiler:

Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Standard Action: Attack Zombie
Move Action: Move straight back to Water Pit (I5, I4, I3)
7 rounds of Shield left.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord continues to hack away at the Zombies around him, a maniacal gleam in his eye as his strikes become more and more vicious.
Man IC is down again! Hopefully they're fixing my Character dropdown history with a new update!

Spoiler:

Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Full Action: Flurry of Blows
8 Rounds left. (I think I am a Round ahead, not sure)

Flurry of Blows. (1d20+6) 18+6= 24; (1d20+6) 4+6= 10.
Flurry of Blows Damage. (1d6) 5

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord Flash lashes out at the nearest Zombies with his newly freed Kama, ignoring the Zombies going for Jackie.
Flurry of Blows. (1d20+6=26, 1d20+6=22)
Confirm Critical Hit. (1d20+6=19)
Damage from Masterwork Kama Flurry of Blows with first strike a Critical Hit. (2d6=8, 1d6=2)

(Male Human Monk 3)

Whoops, somehow I missed this PbP when I was going through revisiting them all after some time away (too much work and then sickness). Sorry

As the horde approaches him, he prepares to offer up a fight. He grabs a last potion out of his bag and quickly quaffs it down before the Zombies are upon him.

Spoiler:

Invisible Castle seems to be down, so I'm just gonna roll the old fashioned way. Hope you don't mind.
Initiative. (1d20+3) 12 + 3 = 15

Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Move Action: Draw Potion Potion of Shield
Standard Action: Drink Potion of Shield

+4 AC makes it 23.
Lasts for 1 minute = 10 Rounds

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord Flash draws one of his Kama and then proceeds to rip the padding off it in preparation for the oncoming horde.

Spoiler:

Swift Action: Activate Dodge.
Move Action: Draw Kama.
Standard Action: Remove Padding from Kama.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Seeing Tallis and Ilil, hard at work beating each other up, Lord decides to let them go at it and defeat the victor of that fight. Instead, he takes his first good look at the undead monks entering the Arena and doesn't like what he sees.
He skirts the pool in the centre and moves towards the southern gate, pulling something from one of his bags.

Spoiler:

Swift Action: Activate Dodge
Move Action: Move G10, G9, G8, G7, H7, I7, J7, K7.
Standard Action: Draw a Tanglefoot Bag.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Wow small world huh?
Here's my item. =D

(Male Human Monk 3)

While he has a short reprieve, Lord pulls out a Potion Vial and drinks it down.

Swift Action: Activate Dodge.
Move Action: Pull out Potion.
Standard Action: Drink Potion.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Perception Check. (1d20+9=27)

Lord tries once again to down the noisy little ball of bounce.
Flurry of Blows. (1d20+5=25, 1d20+5=16)
Damage from first strike. (1d6=6)
His hand snaps out and his open palm connects with Jackie's nose. The followup attack once again goes over his head, but only because the halfling has dropped to the ground unconscious from the initial blow.

Smiling to himself he turns, leaving the halfling laying there with blood pouring from his nose and heads towards Tallis and Ilil, seeing them as the only remaining competitors, the Half-Orc and drunkard having dissappeared from view.
He ignores the din coming from the dead monks and focuses on winning the competition.

Swift Action: Activate Dodge.
Standard Action: Punch Jackie into unconsciousness.
Move Action: J6, I7, H7, G7, G8, G9, G10, G11.

Trying to finish the annoyingly loud halfling quickly, Lord rushes his attacks both swings go wild.

Whoops, forgot my Perception Check.

Perception Check. (1d20+9=10)

Flurry of Blows. (1d20+5=8, 1d20+5=14)

Trying to finish the annoyingly loud halfling quickly, Lord rushes his attacks both swings go wild.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Activate Dodge as a Swift Action.
Perception Check. (1d20+9=17)

Lord takes note of the newcomers but is too distracted by Jackie's wild swings to have a good look.

Lil' Jakie wrote:
"Take that you big oaf!"

He takes the hit in silence and responds in kind, connecting with a solid punch but missing the second swing as his kick goes whooshing above Jackie's head.

Flurry of Blows. (1d20+5=20, 1d20+5=14)
Damage. (1d6=5)

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord sees the flames lick out at the halfling and smiles.
turning to face the incoming target he takes the blow dealt to him and responds with a downward punch, followed swiftly by a spin kick aimed at Jackie's head.
Flurry of Blows. (1d20+5=21, 1d20+5=23)
Damage. (1d6=2, 1d6=2) That was sad...

(Male Human Monk 3)

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
Lord Flash, I assume you threw the shiny objects on K5?

Spoiler:

K6 actually (it does say that in my spoiler about my actions above). This round I am gonna take out some more and spread them in K4. I was gonna spread them in K5 this round until I noticed what I noticed.

Lord Flash carefully pulls another bag from his sack and spreads more shiny objects on the floor between himself and Jackie.

I am assuming because I didn't move that I don't need another Perception Check? Just let me know if I do.

Spoiler:

Activate Dodge [Swift Action].
LF stays put and draws another bag of Caltrops [Move Action], spreading them in (K4) [Standard Action].
Caltrops are now covering (K6) and (K4).

(Male Human Monk 3)

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:
No one else want to act in this round?

Maybe flash_cxxi's powers of Thread Killingness are leeching over into Lord Flash because I share his name?

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord surveys the area and notices Jackie moving in his diection. He takes out a small bag and throws a handful of small shiny objects onto the ground in Jackie's direction.
Perception (16 + 9) = 25

Spoiler:

InvisibleCastle was down so I rolled the old fashioned way. Hope you don't mind.
Activate Dodge [Swift Action].
LF stays put and draws a bag of Caltrops [Move Action], spreading them in (K6) [Standard Action].
I have also decided not to go the Manacles route.
NOTE: He is not currently carrying his Shuriken or his Potions due to the non-lethal damage/non-magical item rules of the current Contest.

(Male Human Monk 3)

Dr Tarren DM:

Spoiler:

That's a fair call.
Here is one last question: I might still attempt the manacles if it were possible to say attach one end to an ankle and the other to a wrist in the way you described above. This would do much more towards taking somone out of the match as it would make it extremely hard to continue to attack (I have already thought of the foot attack prospect).
Is this possible?

(Male Human Monk 3)

Lord Flash watches some of the others make their moves, before moving swiftly forward so as to be more aware of anyone incoming towards him.
Move forward 25" to J5.

Perception Check. (1d20+9=15)

Spoiler:

Dr Tarren DM: I haven't had a chance to get LF's Equipment up yet, I will do so this weekend. I have a question for you however. I have bought Manacles and wanted to know what kind of rolls I would have to make to be able to put manacles onto someone as an attack? I would assume it would be a Grapple Check, but instead of initiating a Grapple I would put the Manacles onto my opponent. Would this be a correct assumption? Would it even be possible for me to do this? I have bought the Manacles, but if it would be impossible for me to do this then I will erase them off the sheet and hold the gold in reserve for a later round (if I make it to a later round that is).
If I am able to use the Manacles in this way, then LF will draw a set of Manacles as his second Move Action (per rules for retrieving an item). If not then he will instead pull a Tanglefoot Bag from his Backpack instead. Whichever one you decide maybe you could add some text so that the others know what he has done.
Cheers

(Male Human Monk 3)

A short feminine looking man can be seen sitting crosslegged by the southernmost entrance (J1) meditating until the commencement of the contest.
He appears to be ignoring the others, but inwardly he knows exactly where everyone is and what they are doing.
