About Lissa Tesarani

Background:
Lissa Tesarani has lived in Sandpoint all her life. She never knew her father, and her mother refuses to talk about him for reasons she won't reveal. Based on her features, Lissa believes him to be one of the shoanti, which (if he still lives) narrows it down quite a bit. But by this point Lissa has given up caring. Her mother runs the Pixie's Kitten and is grooming her to take over the business while daily warning her to avoid participating in the Kitten's services.

When Lissa was a little girl, her life was much simpler. Her days consisted of helping her mother with cooking, cleaning, and playing with her best friend Ameiko Kaijitsu. When they were young, the two were inseparable, but as they started to get older they began to drift apart. Then came the Late Unpleasantness. She remembered when Ameiko's mother died. Her father and brother got into a fight at the funeral. That's what prompted her to leave. Lissa missed her, but at least she wasn't around for the murders or the fire. That was when Lissa first began to seriously consider leaving Sandpoint herself. That was also when Cinder came.

At first, Lissa thought the smoldering draconic being was responsible for the fires (It wasn't until much later she heard that Nualia was behind that particular incident. Lissa had always felt bad for the strange girl, but had never thought she'd do something like that!) and was afraid of it. It told her that she had called to it, and that it was hers to command. It taught her the incantations to summon it again, and over time it taught Lissa much more. She would sneak out almost every day to summon and bind to Cinder in secret. Together they practiced at combat as well as spellcraft.

When the Heroes of Sandpoint came, Lissa thought she might finally get her chance for some adventure herself. Ameiko had returned to Sandpoint by then and assured her that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, but that didn't deter Lissa in the least. But, alas, it wasn't to be. Ameiko got to help the Heroes fight the goblins and save the town, not her. It seemed she was destined never to go on any grand adventures like Ameiko or the Heroes of Sandpoint. So she stopped summoning Cinder and began to look to the more mundane affairs of running the Kitten with her mother. She has even begun to consider accepting Jamos Slyth's proposal. She would get married, have children, and never have to worry about any of this adventure nonsense again. But fate, it seems, has other plans...

Physical Description:
At 5'6" tall and 133 lbs., the last thing anyone expects from the curvy Lissa Tesarani is a fight. It is only when bound to Cinder that Lissa is more than capable of handling herself in the hack-and-slash of close combat. Frequently mistaken for one of the employees of the Pixie's Kitten (a mistake which inevitably ends in the extreme embarrassment of the offending party), Lissa has given up trying to hide her figure. With wide hips, dusky skin, full lips, and sparkling emerald-green eyes, Lissa is exactly what most men are looking for. Yet she has turned away all suitors so far. Lissa typically wears simple dresses, but when she goes out riding (which doesn't happen often these days) she dons her riding leathers. When she intends to impress others with her magical talents, she lets her long, dark hair down and puts on her elaborate purple mage robes.

Personality:
Willful, competitive, and adventurous are all good ways to describe Lissa Tesarani. Long bored with small-town life, she has begun to submit to the inevitability that she'll never get to go on any great adventures. This has driven her into something of a depression-a fugue from which she believes there is no escape. When the chance for adventure presents itself, she will awaken into the person she once was. The zeal for life for which she was once known will finally return. Or, at least, she hopes it will. Or has she become too ingrained in the day-to-day life of Sandpoint? Has she finally crossed the line from which there is no return? Only time can tell.

Best Friend (Ameiko) Lissa is best friends with Ameiko; they grew up together, and while Ameiko has had a much more exciting life than Lissa has so far, she hopes to one day to follow in her footsteps and see the world — or perhaps even become an adventurer herself. Lissa has picked up a lot from Ameiko, but particularly her skill in interacting with others. She gains a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks and it is always considered a class skill for her. In addition, in situations where Ameiko is in danger, she gains a +1 trait bonus on all attack rolls against foes that threaten her.
Charming Blessed with good looks, Lissa has come to depend on the fact that others find her attractive. She gains a +1 trait bonus when she uses Bluff or Diplomacy on a character that is (or could be) sexually attracted to her, and a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of any language-dependent spell she casts on such characters or creatures.
Fused Eidolon Lissa summons the essence of a powerful outsider to meld with her own being. Instead of appearing as a separate creature next to her, her eidolon appears around Lissa, so that she seems to be inside a translucent image of her eidolon. Lissa directs all of her eidolon’s actions while fused, perceives through its senses, and speaks through its voice, as the two are now one creature.
While fused with her eidolon, Lissa uses her eidolon’s physical ability scores (Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution), but retains her own mental ability scores (Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma). She gains her eidolon’s hit points as temporary hit points. When these hit points reach 0, her eidolon is sent back to its home plane. Lissa uses her eidolon’s base attack bonus and gains her eidolon’s armor and natural armor bonuses and modifiers to ability scores. She also gains access to her eidolon’s special abilities and her eidolon’s evolutions. Lissa is still limited to her eidolon’s maximum number of natural attacks. Her eidolon has no skills or feats of its own. Her eidolon must be at least the same size as Lissa is.
While fused, Lissa counts as both her original type and as an outsider for any effect related to type, whichever is worse for her. Spells such as banishment or dismissal work normally on her eidolon, but Lissa is unaffected. Neither she nor her eidolon can be targeted separately, as they are fused into one creature. Lissa and her eidolon cannot take separate actions. While fused with her eidolon, Lissa can use all of her own abilities and gear. In all other cases, this ability functions as the summoner’s normal eidolon ability (for example, Lissa cannot use her summon monster ability while her eidolon is present).
Fused Link (Su) Whenever the temporary hit points from her eidolon would be reduced to 0, Lissa can, as a free action, sacrifice any number of her own hit points. Each hit point sacrificed this way prevents 1 point of damage done to her eidolon (thus preventing the loss of her temporary hit points), preventing her eidolon from being sent back to its home plane.
Summon Monster (Sp) Lissa can cast summon monster I as a spell-like ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. Drawing upon this ability uses up the same power as she uses to call her eidolon. As a result, she can only use this ability when her eidolon is not summoned. She can cast this spell as a standard action and the creatures remain for 1 minute per level (instead of 1 round per level). At 3rd level, and every 2 levels thereafter, the power of this ability increases by one spell level, allowing Lissa to summon more powerful creatures (to a maximum of summon monster IX at 17th level). At 19th level, this ability can be used as gate or summon monster IX. If used as gate, Lissa must pay any required material components. She cannot have more than one summon monster or gate spell active in this way at one time. If this ability is used again, any existing summon monster or gate immediately ends. These summon spells are considered to be part of her spell list for the purposes of spell trigger and spell completion items. In addition, she can expend uses of this ability to fufill the construction requirements of any magic item she creates, so long as he can use this ability to cast the required spell.
