The Guns and Gears Avid Collector boons are fun because you choose one item and all your characters get access, while the Grand Bazaar boons give one character access to all items from a specific store.

Personally, I've used those boons to help out my various shield builds with ablative shield plating from Avid Collector - Gears Gadgets, and to help out my sword-n-board flame druid with a wovenwood shield (and hopefully eventually a wand of fey flames) from Frequent Shopper - Relics and Remembrance.

I've been looking into picking up a pantograph gauntlet from Avid Collector - Gears Weapons and a bomb launcher from Avid Collector - Gears Combat Gear, but I don't have the concepts in mind quite yet for them.

I've also been considering a leshy cleric of Ravithra, using the Agents of Edgewatch - Mother of Nagas and Agents of Edgewatch - Esoteric Spellcaster boons to get imp sting, admonishing ray, and the naga domain. Poison isn't treacherous if you tell them what the poison is, right? :P

I would, but I feel it might be in bad taste as I have an article in here. If y'all disagree then I'll absolutely write a review.

Assisting in a hunt of the "white whale" of stridermanders? A scenario that looks like it'll be mixing political intrigue, discovery, and combat? Going to Vesk-3??? I can't wait!

There's more than one writer for this book. I'm not sure where you got the impression that Erik was the only author for this entire 296-page hardcover. Do you have a source for that, Gorbacz?

So, this is not an official clarification or statement, but I am the designer who wrote the COM solarian section. The intent of my design, and how I've been playing solar flare characters, is that Soulfire DOES work with solar flare. Unless an official clarification comes stating otherwise, that's how I'm going to be ruling it.

Ooh, first COM characters? Well...

April Puck, halfling biohacker, dentist that took a lot of clients that had bad reputations because she believes everyone deserves dental care. Lost her license when a rival gang member attacked her office and she defended her patient with medical gear.

Aeatar, khizar biohacker. Studies plants to try and synthesize new remedies.

The Comeback Qid, maraquoi vanguard. Almost died, now fights to protect people from the same fate.

Mukuro Abadashi, human witchwarper. Aiming for a melee witchwarper build, they were raised in the slums of Absalom Station and trained to take advantage of any and all tactical opportunities... and to make new opportunities as possible.

Norria Divi, human vanguard. Going for a dirty trick build, she was from a long line of pompous solarians who kicked her out for manifesting vanguard powers. Naiaj recruited her to put a roof over her head and because she saw her potential.

I have about ten more planned... but those are the first five. :P

I'm down to play or GM! I've already GM'd it twice so I'd prefer to play, preferably in the 1-4 level range, but I can be flexible as-needed.

So, one thing that's interesting to me is the idea that we could, potentially, have multiple champion causes for any given alignment. There's more than one way to play a given alignment, so why would a given alignment have only one champion type? For a True Neutral champion, I feel the envoy of balance prestige class from PF1 could work as inspiration, as could a character championing a balance between life and death (hi Pharasma!).

Solarian Option Insight:
I recommend you look at the wording of solar flare again, especially the areas in parentheses. It expressly CANNOT be used to make a trick attack.

One of my players is running a Warpriest of Sarenrae. During our last session, he wanted to use his minor Sun Blessing, Blinding Strike, against a boss monster during an encounter. However, we ran into an issue, as the book doesn't seem to clearly indicate what the range of this ability is, and I haven't been able to track down any solid rulings on the matter.

My interpretation at the table was that, because nothing in the rules text for Blessings or for Blinding Strike indicated a range, that it was usable in melee only. But I told the player that I would follow up with the hivemind for wisdom on the subject.

Any helpful information would be very much appreciated. :)

I wasn't sure if this was something that should go under Rules or Advice...so I'm just going to post it here. lol

I'm currently running a homebrew game in Varisia, with the party currently looking to establish themselves in Kaer Maga for a while.

Utilizing the rules for random weather provided in Ultimate Wilderness, how would you guys go about setting the weather baselines for Varisia?

I'm guessing it's likely a Temperate Climate, but I'm not entirely sure what elevation I should be using. Is Kaer Maga at a high enough elevation to be considered Highlands? Or would that be reserved for more mountainous regions up in the Cinderlands?

Hey, all. Got a bit of a fringe case I'd appreciate some guidance with.

So one of my players has an Android Artisan PC. If you're not familiar with the Artisan, it's a 3rd-party class provided in the Guide to Inns & Taverns from Slugfest Games. The Artisan is kind of flavored as an adventuring NPC, but as a player class.

Obviously, this race/class combo has an issue in that it does not, officially, have a third option provided for Favored Class bonus. So, I'd like to try to build a custom option to present to this player.

The Artisan receives the following ability at Level 1:

Common Man (Ex): As common people, artisans have an easier time interacting with and asking favors of NPCs. An artisan receives a circumstance bonus equal to half their artisan level (rounded up) on any Diplomacy checks they make to improve the mood of a character with at least one level in an NPC class.

I'm kind of thinking the provided Favored Class bonus might be a fractional bonus to this ability, but I'm not sure whether to set it at 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4.

Thematically, I know this doesn't necessarily make the most sense considering the Android's penalty to Charisma, but I'm looking for something quick and easy to implement. Also, the other 1st Level class features don't easily lend themselves to this sort of bonus.

Any thoughts?

Hey, all.

So, I've recently started GMing again after a long hiatus away from the hotseat. We're playing Pathfinder 1st edition, and I'm working on re-familiarizing myself with the rules, which is easier in some cases than others.

I'm working on a stat block for a dragon I'd like the PCs to encounter later on, building one from the ground up as per the Dragon entries in Bestiary 1. But I've hit a bit of a snag in that I'm not finding anything concrete on how to calculate the dragon's base saving throw bonus. Furthermore, this seems to be a problem present across all the dragon entries in each Bestiary, as far as I can tell.

The closest thing I can find is under the Dragon type listed in the Bestiary's glossary, stating that a dragon has "Good Fortitude, Reflex, and Will saves." But I can't seen to find any sort of follow-up information. After poking around online for a while, I've been able to deduce that there are "Good saves" and "Bad saves" calculated based on the amount of racial HD a creature has, but I haven't been able to track down the specific calculation for Good or Bad saves.

Could somebody please point me in the right direction and, if possible, direct me to where this information might be written in the books proper?

Thanks in advance!

I'm starting up a new game next week, and I have a newer player who has decided to play an aasimar hunter. One of her feats allows her tiger animal companion to gain the celestial template.

In reading the celestial template, the companion should gain spell resistance equal to it's CR + 5.

How does one measure CR for an animal companion?
