(Male Halfling Monk 3)

Acrobatic check: (1d20+10=24)

I leap up onto the table (K3), and stepping lightly on my toes, I prepare myself for further action.

"Come and get me," I snarl, as I notice the form of Misthing, lying prone on the ground.

Dodge, Readied action - will attack if my opponent moves within range. (I would have charged but the table was in my way.)

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

I attack Tallis, landing a well aimed fist at his legs, hoping to cripple him as he had hoped to do to me.

Fist Attack: (1d20+5=25)
Confirm critical: (1d20+5=20) ^_^
Critical Damage: (2d4=6)

Having landed a telling blow, I leap back away.

"WOOT! NOISY CRICKET!"

Five foot step to G2.

Waiting for Drunk Monk to react, as I got no partner to dance anymore...

Drunk Monk, excepting a 'last words' post, should be at -2 hp and out of the fight.

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

I leap nimbly past the chair in front of me, around the table, and kick up at the lush that had the temerity to lay his hands on me. (5 foot step to f3)

"NOISY CRICKET!"

Attacking the Drunk: (1d20+5=19)
Damage: (1d4=3)

My foot connects yet again.

"Take that you miserable excuse for a monk!" I say indignantly, "If you're going to wrestle with a halfling, make sure to take him out when you get the chance."

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

AS the goon throws me through the air, I do a flip and land on my feet.

Acrobatics check: (1d20+10=24)

"Nice try skunk breath," I say cheerfully, "I used to let them chuck me twice a day at the monastery."

Bawn n' bred inna brar-patch. ;)

Drunky will attempt to throw Lil Jake.

I don't know what I have to roll to do this, but I assume it's either 1d20 attack roll, or 1d6 damage.

19=14+5. 1d6=4 (if Str is used as heavy thrown weapon then 9)

I think you also need to make another grapple check.

Also,... would a thrown character get to make an acrobatic check to negate part or all of the damage.

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

In case it was missed, my actions for this round were a failed escape artist attempt (rolled a 1) and a failed attack (rolled a 2).

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

I feel a moment of panic and fail to wiggle myself loose.

Escape Artist: (1d20+4=5)

Despite this, I still try to knee the jerk who is holding me. Unfortunately, I can't quite bring enough force to bear.

Knee attack: (1d20+5=7)

Grappled characters can attack according to the glossary but at -2, which cancels out my +2 higher ground advantage. Its a shame the dice failed me now with my foe taking a -4 to his AC as well. :/

Tarren the Dungeon Master wrote:

Lil' Jakie, why is your CMB -2? I understand -1 for the size modifier. What is the other -1 for?

My bad. I believe that it was a -2 for small creatures at some point earlier in the rules evolution and I didn't recheck it in Beta.

Can a grappled creature kick? ;)

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

"Aw man," I complain, as the fool lays his hands on me, "your breath could stun an ox."

So if I understand right, both of us are grappled, taking -4 to our AC (so mine becomes 15 at the moment) and in the next round, I get to attack normally if I choose to, provided my other honorable foe manages to miss me again.

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

Regardless, I get to attack before I am grappled, due to my readied action.

Flurry of Blows; Higher Ground: (1d20+3+2=24, 1d20+3+2=17)
Damage: (1d4=2, 1d4=2)

As the drunk charges at me, I kick out quickly in an arc and then follow with a fist. Both blows strike but I realize I need to work on putting more power behind my well placed strikes as he continues, scarcely fazed.

Such good hits. Such lousy damage. :)

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

Standing on my table, I take a glance at the two big lugs nearest me. Misthing seems unfortunately distracted and I figure I'm on my own. With a rueful grin, I decide to hold my ground and nimbly bouncing from one foot to the other, I lift my hands and wordlessly make a come and get me gesture with my fingers to both of the other monks.

Dodging still, AC is still 19.

I ready myself to attack the first opponent to approach close enough to kick.

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

As I am not going to be online again until Sunday, I thought I would go ahead and post my round 4 action now, just asssume it happens right after the other two, provided of course they don't hit me with another chair.

Acrobatic skill check: (1d20+10=29)

Moving lightly I vault off the table I am standing on and spring onto the table next to my advesary (D2). I land on my hands and immediately spin, my legs circling just above the mugs on the table and then out towards my foe.

"NOISY CRICKET SPIN OF DEATH!" I yell even as I am spinning on my hands.

Spinning kick from higher ground: (1d20+5+2=21)
Damage: (1d4=2)

Its a beautiful move and my foot once more connects with the other monk, even if only lightly. I then vault to my feet on the table and nimbly bounce from foot to foot anticipating a retaliation.

Activating Dodge. AC is 19 for this round.

"Even the smallest of blows can fell the biggest of trees... given time," I say to the other monk with a grin.

Tallis Kotellos wrote:

"Crouching Bullfrog STRIKE!"

Tallis sends a quick strike at the annoying halfling's knee.

Tallis then tumbles away from Jakie, saying "Lets see you kick me again with only one leg!"

AC=18 :D

I nimbly leap just over the attack.

"Kicking with one leg might be a problem," I retort,... "If you had actually HIT me!"

Edit: Heh. I only have two hp left (stupid lucky chair shot). Just about any hit at this time is going to keep me from walking for a while. ;)

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

Oops forgot to include my acrobatic check in my last post...
acrobatic check: (1d20+10=15)

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

Deciding to leave Misthing to her own battle, I roll around the post I was hiding behind, tumble low and between two chairs and leap up onto the table. (E4/E3) This time, though it's still not my best jump ever, I manage to land on the table.

Spinning around on one foot, I snap a kick at the man I had missed with the knife (Tallis).

"NOISY CRICKET KICK!"

Kick attack (high ground): (1d20+5+2=22)
Damage: (1d4=3)

My foot connects.

"sorry!"

"oof..."

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

I'll take the damage from the chair off when it is rolled.

Surprised by being hit by a chair, I shake myself and throwing my knife at Tallis, I move behind the pillar (f6) as I try to formulate a plan and figure out what my companion is doing.

The knife flies high and thunks into the wall near the door.

Thrown Knife: (1d20+2=9) [-4 for improvised weapon, +4 dexterity, +1 small, +1 thrown weapon (halfling bonus)]

(Male Halfling Monk 3)

As I stride into the bar, arms akimbo, I glance around, my eyes just a little higher than the tables.

"NOISY CRICKET!" I yell fiercely, "We are HERE! Soon you shall NOT BE HERE!"

Then with a nod to my tall companion, I grab a knife off the nearest table and try to jump from a standing position onto the table (E7). Unfortunately, it is not my best effort. I bounce up, just not high enough, my long braid whipping up and down in the air.

Acrobatics: (1d20+10=11)

I end round 1 in E6, holding a knife, ready to throw it.

They've almost reached the bar, but it looks like the others got there first. Her face falls into a comically-exaggerated look of woe. "Me sorry if me slow you down, little foot."

"Is no problem. Flipping tables might be good,... especially if they are on the table."

How tall are the tables? Can a monk of diminutive stature (ahem) use them for cover while still attacking?

Conversely, this will determine the DC for jumping on them to gain the high ground whilst attacking.

Yeah. Weapon Finesse has no prerequisite in the beta rules. Which is one reason I went with a high dexterity, low strength monk.

One point of order to clarify: As this is a three way fight, I am assuming that flanking can be achieved so long as the person in the middle is surrounded by two opponents regardless of school or affiliation. That is, if a Cricket Fighter has a Monkey fighter on his left and a Frog Fighter on his right, he is flanked and both Monkey and Frog recieve the flanking bonus. Correct?

*Lil' Jakie looks up at Misthing...and up... and up*

"I tell you brother... Here is plan.... You go in first, grab them or punch them... then, while they are busy looking at you... I flank unnoticed and... NOISY CRICKET!... I give them one and one and down they go!"

Houserules look fine by me.

NOISY CRICKET!!!!

HYAAA!

Who wants to partner with a little ball of hurt? :)
