Also the email is great for letting everyone know what is coming, but not everyone checks their emails regularly. Some people (like me) have an email that is used for work, and part of my job is to stay on top of it. I use a second email for other stuff. I check my work email so often, that it habit, but not so with my others. I have to stop and go to another page to check it, and sometimes I don't think of it for a few weeks. it take a secondary importance.

I once forgot to check my email for a few days, and I missed out on the chance to claim £250,000.00 from the Finance Minister of Nigeria.

I won't be making THAT mistake again, I'll tell you.

I'm so disappointed in you guys for this. I've been a subscriber for years (and a regular Dragon/Dungeon buyer before that) and I think that this is just unacceptable. If you don't make provisions to omit this from my subscription, I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel. Foisting a kid's game on your subscribers is, frankly, a very Wizards of the Coast-style thing to do. I thought you were better than that.

As weird as this may sound, I don't actually play RPGs - haven't for years. I collect them to read. For people like me - and I know I'm not the only one out there - this item is useless. However you feel about its utility, though, I don't think that it can be reasonably argued that this should be a part of the regular subscription (or that it was implied by Paizo that the subscription would encompass items like this). It's completely different from what I signed up for.

+1. I really hope that Paizo will throw international subscribers a bone here, as the situation Antony described is even worse in other EU countries (because of higher import taxes). If this were to become part of my subscription, I would easily have to pay something between 150 and 200% of the original purchase price.

Apart from that, while I know Paizo's business model relies heavily on subscriptions, I wonder where the idea came from to include 'beginner' product into existing subscription lines (i.e., sell the beginner set to customers who - in many cases - will own the vast majority of sourcebooks Paizo has published for PF)? This (forgive me for saying so) seems somewhat counterintuitive to me.

I'd be happy if they just took the dice out of my copy and label the package as books.

They could donate the dice to someone else, we could call it Dice-Aid.

2 people marked this as FAQ candidate. 2 people marked this as a favorite.

As much as I would like a copy of this, please please please do not make it part of an existing subscription.

Because it is a game rather than a book (because it contains dice), it will be subject to import tax into the UK (~10% = $3.50). On top of this the post office add a £8 (~$14) 'handling' fee, AND I then have to go and collect it while they are open (~$5 fuel and parking)

So a $35 + postage box becomes a ~$58 + postage box and it is not even delivered directly to me.

As far as non-books are concerned it is NOT a good idea to include non-books in the subscriptions for international customers.

Please don't force me to have to cancel my subscription and re-establish it later just to avoid the costs associated with this.

Regards,

Antony
