"Wait.. we didn't say we weren't the Interested Parties" Lena speaks before she truly appreciates the meaning of her words. Her heart races as she desperately tries to think of some way to get out of this situation, while glancing at her companions in the hopes of a bright idea presenting itself.

What I've learned from DMing for my regular group (who regularly ask similar questions about the motivations of my NPCs) is just to trust the DM. Maybe there's something we don't know about which prevents them from attacking? Knowing inevitables there's probably some contract somewhere with a loophole we can exploit. All we can do is RP our characters. Of course Leralt may be just as frustrated with the situation himself seeing as he is a smart, logical person. Lena is far more faith-driven (unlike me in RL). As far as player feed back goes I'm all for pushing things forward if you feel its best OMB. In character, thats a pretty big surprise though ;)

"Inevitables. A welcome relief from all the daemons and monsters,as long as their dogmatic views don't cloud their judgement" Lena catches sight of the cloud and watches with a worried expression as Leralt's clockwork creature buzzes off. She returns her gaze to the larger clockwork creatures before her. "I am Lena Relani, servant of our Lord Abadar and defender of this holy colony" "Who or what is this 'Power' of which you speak?"
Female Half-Elf Rogue 1/ Inquisitor 4. Init: +5, hp: 30/30 F: +4, R: +4, W: +7, AC: 18
Lena remains silent during the others' bickering slowly getting more irate and her frown deepening to match. "Will you lot keep it down? We've a job to do here and an angry Dracolisk we don't want to piss off. Just grab what you can and we can sort it out later" Lena helps collect and books or other clues deemed interesting. "Catila what have you got there?"

Lena watches the exchange between Leralt and the beast with interest, but as cannot speak the language. Sensing that Leralt was getting stressed, Lena retrieves a scroll from her case and casts a quick spell cast comprehend languages Ready action to step out and shoot the creature if it makes a threatening move towards Leralt or any of us

of course, but I think we should watch it, maybe tail it and get a drop on it later Lena slowly shakes her head at Gellius, trying to impress her meaning. She still grips her crossbow tightly and prepares herself to use it

That wasn't what I was expecting ;) Lena's eyes go wide when she sees the lumbering beast heading down the cavern towards them. She studies its' form, colouration and size attempting to judge what type of dragon it is descended from and any other traits. Checks:
Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 Knowledge (Dungeoneering): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27 She also looks around the cavern, getting a feel for where the others are and trying to judge the best time to strike.

"And you saw nothing which would leave such a track?" Lena indicates the reptillian clawed footprint in the dirt, the image of Dr. Krupt's monstrous transformation during the battle with the Brain Crabs fresh in her mind. What else has changed since we've been away? she thinks to herself. "I wonder whether this is some creature which has moved in since the last residents were evicted? Or whether it had something to do with the eviction itself.."

EDIT
"Something big was here, reptillian by the look of its' tracks. Beyond that not sure. Something or someone was careful to sweep away most of the tracks though" Getting back to her feet, Lena squints off into the darkness. "I wonder what is down that cavern at the end. Dr. Krupt, how deep into the complex did you come last time?"

At Leralt/Gellius: "That might not be a bad idea, if it is doable" Well if everyone is in agreement (Catlia? Leralt?) Lena will begin speaking to the colonists in particular those of the People who are here, Sister Mara and the Mayor about leaving Hope in their care. She will stress the importance of keeping her safe.

Lena nods at Leralt's suggestion to explore the Pale Guardians' lair. "Go on Doctor" Lena says through narrowed eyes, as she unloads her crossbow and stows it at across the small of her bacl "What were you going to say?"

"Agreed" Lena says in response to Catila's musings "Protecting the girl should be our first priority. Whatever it is he wants with her, we can't let it happen. We should also consider making an attempt to track down this escaped crab. Hopefully it can lead us to their master" Lena also offers Bear a blessing from Abadar to lessen his injuries

I take it that combat initiative/order is now over? Panting with the effort and strain of the fight, Lena dismisses the flaming power on her falcata and sheaths the weapon. About to land the killing blow on Krupt's grappled crab, Lena stops just in time after hearing the mutated doctor's call. With a stern gaze, Lena looks Krupt in the eyes
Lena instead turns in a circle, sweeping the area in an attempt to spot the other crab while still keeping an eye on this one, her Falcata aflame with Abadar's glory ready to strike at a moment's notice. Hearing Leralt's words and seeing the death of the first brain crab, Lena lets out a loud cry and surges forward in an attempt to finish the last Giant as it turns its back on her. GM: is there any way I can target the brain crab? Like run and climb up the giant' back etc? Let me know what extra rolls I need to make (or make 'em yourself) on top of the attack. If not it will be a regular attack as below attack of opportunity: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 7 for damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 plus fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3 plus sneak attack: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6 On my turn: Switch judgement to +2 damage Disengage combat expertise Flanking attack vs giant (if I can't target brain crab) falcata: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8 for damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 plus fire damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5 plus sneak attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8 Instead, Lena fumbles her sword in a magnificent manner.. 2 nat 1s!!!!!? These things are tough! Lena maintains combat expertise (AC 19), trying to dodge the giant's attacks while still presenting a threat for Gellius to use for his sneak attack. Cast flames of the faithful concentration: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 granting my falcata the flaming burst property. Heal 2hp from judgement "Abadar deliver us" Lena grunts through gritted teeth

Hmmm I thought I'd posted a reply already but it seems the æther has eaten it up.. I'd like to request magica armour/weapons please Leralt if that's possible. Ideally I'd like a +1 flaming (or something else cool like axiomatic or chaotic outsider bane) falcata. As for armour maybe + x agile breastplate or mithral breastplate. No idea what sort of availability you have so though I'd aim high! I don't have much to pay with other than this +1 ghost touch terbutje we picked up when we first arrived on the island. Cheers

Lena spends the two weeks quite productively.
Things Lena wants to do:
-She will speak to Krupt about the issue of 'spies' in the colony. If he (and Catila and Songan) agrees, she will begin subtlety observing the colonists and making a list of the possible suspects for future interrogation
-She will spend time with the colony's warriors (or the best alternative) and hunters to train combat skills, stealth, tracking etc. When she sees Songan practising sword drills one cold morning, she approaches and asks if he would like to join in. She will give one-on-one lessons in the evenings too if necessary. -If there is time, she would like to go to the site of the Pale Guardians settlement to search for clues about Parker (she will ask Catila/Surrek/hunters to accompany her). -Explore the area around town in more detail, particularly looking for sites of important resources, places of interest or vantage points for watchtowers etc. -Spend time in the temple, praying to Abadar and speaking with Sister Mara. Lena will offer to stand in for any religious ceremonies/duties required. -Visit Leralt and Gordon at the collective to see how they are doing. -Ask around town (particularly Sister Mara, the forges) and speak to Leralt about the possibility of magical weapons/armour or special materials being produced in small numbers to equip the team.
None of the above is secret (other than the first point) so the others are welcome to join if they wish.
