"I do not believe I have a brain.
Do you refer to the tall figure robed in black?"
Leaf links up with Arathalia and {perhaps} they go straight to the inn.
"Order unmodified by compassion. Interesting. I wonder how these 'guards' will react if provoked?" Leaf asks no-one in particular before casting mage armour and whizzing off to experiment.
From a high vantage point he teleports into likely alleyways ahead of the guards, casts a couple of caltrop cantrips and then teleports back to his vantage point.
"Unburden yourself to him creature. And all will be well."
Leaf addresses the halfling, but he might just as well have been talking to sky.

"We should follow? oh...We SHOULD follow."
Leafs bobs in place and starts to follow.
"What brings me to this place? I am uncertain. Would you know what reasons there could be?
I would like to believe I am part of a grand design. But it is more likely I am simply an accident or a mistake.
If I had but one guess and a desire to keep my answer short I would hazard: 'lack of proper respect' as my guess.
The local merchants call me 'Leaf Hysical'. I would know your name?"
The Lantern continues to hover in front of Arathalia.

Leaf bobbles in closer to the Elf:
"I enjoyed your attempt to deal with the armed authority figure. I do not understand his reference to the trouble we might have caused. Are agents of another power in attendance?"
"bzzz?"
Leaf throws to back of the authority figure as he walks away.
A buzzing sphere of light hovers behind the Elf, lending even greater majesty to the threat.

"Hey, what was that?"
Leaf zips along 120' on an upward diagonal 'towards' the sound.

oh, that is hilarious!
Leaf hovers over the river. Using a combination of 'glue' and 'mage hand' cantrips he stacks pebbles on the riverbank as high as he can.
"Hot Lizard...smells like...You know, I'm not even sure I can smell."
After a moment, he buzzes over to the aforementioned 'big, horned lizard' and says: "hello!". All the while he tries to discover if he has the sense of smell.
Whatever the lizardman's disposition, Leaf perseveres with conversation:
castle's down: diplomacy d20+10=23 and sense motive d20+10=26 (to find out what he's looking at and what his disposition towards it is)
The poor little Lantern Archon knows none of this:
The 'other' he detects within himself is a fragment of the soul of a Warlock, as powerful as he is inaccessible.
This dark fragment still maintains a pact forged with an advanced Eiryenes, a direct servant of Dispater.
If the Eiryenes or even Dispater are aware of Leaf's situation, it is likely they recognize the value of a celestial ally and will not apply the 'moral vice grips' by forcing him to do horrid things for silly reasons early on.
Or maybe they planned this all along and Leaf's existence is an incomprehensibly minor piece of a grand scheme.
Or maybe Leaf is in for a rude awakening to the price of his power.
Conversely, Leaf can make a pact now. I hesitate to do this because, as I wrote earlier, I really have no clue about his personality yet. If this is how you would like to proceed, feel free to railroad Leaf in a game-helping direction.
Looking forward to the start. This has been an EPIC effort of character construction. Lots of firsts for me here (gestalt, warlock, half-celestial, weird creature, many books cracked (er, pdfs opened? for the first time)
Anyway, Leaf is 'complete'. Not exactly sure what his personality will turn out to be, and I suppose that's a good thing. Eagerly awaiting your feedback.
Arathalia Drow'sbane wrote: I'd actually need that as well. I'm sure Ican figure them out based on DR but text would be nice Yeah, and the +1 natural armour bonus is a puzzle to me. Attractive too, as the Lantern Archon hovers in with a great starting DR. There is mention of other assorted bonuseseses (boni?) which I'm sure the text fleshes out.
I've found smilodan's warlock. It mentions pacts. They aren't in complete arcane, and I can't find them around here (some likely links in googs, but they all take me to the store.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

This is Orange.
To paraphrase you somewhere around here: 'we're libertines, sunshine'. I am, of course, fully committed to playing the lantern
Don't be concerned with my overuse of 'neutral space' in the character profile; there is more backstory.
I've never played a warlock before, so I'd like to try that.
Although their appear to be some technical difficulties re:alignment. I would propose my Lantern is the unfortunate concatenation of a very pure lawful good soul and a less savory creature (left vague to allow for future discoveries) as a result, the warlock class is possible; and, the Lantern is either Chaotic Good or Lawful Good with an impulse control problem (my preferred choice).
This would add richness to the backstory and will complicate his attempt to find redemption/return 'home'/evolve.
To clarify your post:
a.the lantern's stats will be as rolled with; 1 strength, -4 intelligence.
b.gestalt class is recommended to be sorcerer/warlock
Thanks!
best avatar I could find. the site is so twitchy I just grabbed it and ran. will look for something more appropriate when the downloads calm down!
