Bethany sees Justin's mouth moving, but he's too far away for her to make out his words over her singing. She instead starts to wave to him and mime the actions for him to drop a fireball into the Khaasta around her. She waits anxiously for him to signal that he understands, not wanting to hang around for too long as she realizes that once the others arrive, it won't be much good for them to not be able to come near her.

nah, it's not the same as a Charm. I didn't use a Bard Ability, I used a Harpy Ability.

Captivating Song (Su):

Bethany’s song has the power to infect the minds of those that hear it. When she sings, all non-Harpies within a 50ft. Spread must succeed on a DC 18 Will Save or become captivated. A creature that saves cannot be affected by her song again for another 24 hours.
A captivated creature moves directly towards her, taking the most direct route available. If the path leads them through a dangerous area, then they get an additional save to attempt to break free. Captivated creatures can take no other action other than to defend themselves from the attacks of others. Once the creature is within 5ft. of Bethany, it just stands there and offers no resistance to her attacks. The effect continues for as long as she continues to sing, plus 1 round thereafter. This is a sonic mind-affecting charm effect. A Bard's Countersong ability allows the captivated creature to attempt a new Will Save each round he can hear the Countersong.

It only lasts while I keep singing + 1 round and all it does is basically incapacitate them. I didn't really expect to get all of them. I was thinking maybe half and was a bit worried that the rest would simply try to attack me. I was trying to take the focus off you guys so you could get in closer without being pelted by ballista bolts.
Now I have them though I don't know what to do with them. Maybe take off and lead them over the edge of the building? They'll all get another save, but I should still take out half of them this way? Or should we go with the Justin/uber mega fireball of death idea?

Sooooo... now I have them, what the hell do I do with them? Maybe if I take off and have Justin drop a mega uber fireball of death into them? They stay captivated for one round after I stop singing, so if I double move then I could be away before he drops it?.

So sorry guys for my lack of posting. I have been back online for a week now but I'm only just now starting to catch up.

Bethany follows Justin's lead in heading towards the top of the tower, winging her way at top speed around the Ballista Bolts being flung her way. She lands on the roof, dead in the middle of the Khaasta manning the giant crossbow-like weapons. Smiling cruelly, she begins to sing a haunting melody about a man's obession with a beautiful woman.

Bethany nods her head at Ekuur for healing her and her eyes light up when Isaac brings out the treasure from the hole.
After eyeing off the headband and scowling when Merle picks it up and puts it on, she shrugs seeing nothing else of interest except the mundane treasure and moves back to let the others have their pick.

Holy Crap! I'm glad she was lucky... I'm assuming unlucky would be a one shot kill?

Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Bethany screeches in pain at the touch of the skeletal creature next to her. As she looks around for an escape, she sees the leaves part before her as the path Nari has cleared appears. She swoops through, flying behind the others to minister to her wounds.

Fly to p27 and cast cure light wounds on herself.
Fly Check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Bethany pulls out her Footbow and takes to the air, flying around the party to see if she can spot anything.

I swear next level I am putting some Ranks into Perception, because even though that was a good roll, I hate it only being a straight d20...

Bethany eyes the strange creatures with the look of somone who hasn't eaten a decent meal in a long time, although the fact that Isaac is conversing with them and that they apparently want some help, makes her pause.
"I don't see any problem with doing what they ask if it gets us closer to finishing this chase," she says as she hefts her new blade and tests it's precision with a few practice swings.

Bethany wakes slowly, a strange look on her face as she tries to recall the vivid dream she was having. She looks down at Drazek beside her as he too starts to waken and hears Karrin's statement. She turns slowly to face the Tiefling and c o c k s her head with a quizzical expression. "I too had a strange dream. Something about a Tapestry and an old woman."

Bethany feels the ground give way and then notices the castle gone. Immediately her wings unfurl and her descent is halted as she catches the wind and circles to the ground. Landing softly next to Drazek, she helps him to his feet, although he looks to have fared better than some of the others.
She feels Ekuur's healing wash over her, altohugh unlike the others, she doesn't feel the heat simply a tingle.
"Well that was certainly interesting," she says to the others as they pick themselves up and look around. "Thankfully it appears somebody dealt with the problem of the strange man for us, but I must say that I am thankful to him for closing the gap between us and the lizards.

Bethany's eyes narrow as she takes in the newly arrived guards. She places herself on the edge of the group, so that she can easily be ready for whatever might occur, without being too close to Tiac and his men if something were to happen.

Oh most definately a big +1 here...

Bethany is pleased with the way that Tiac addresses her and sits on the edge of the group with Drazek. She tries some of the Limoncello, screwing her nose up and leaving the almost full glass resting beside where she sits.
When their attention is drawn to the statues above, her eyes narrow. She wonders whether Tiac is really a Dwarf in disguise or whether he is in league with Dwarves, thinking that the statues are in fact Gargoyles.
She only half follows the conversation, a little weary from their long journey and the restfulness of their surroundings. She does however decide to keep her eyes out for any Dwarves that might be hiding on board.

A little background for those who are interested:

On Bethany's world, Dwarves and Gargoyles are the only Neutral Nation (although technically they don'y qualify as an actual Nation), living on a Mountain Island in the middle of the Central Ocean between the four Continents. They produce Airships for long distance travel and sell them to anyone willing to pay their price, be they air or land dweller.
This is why she asked about Airships when they came to the Dwarvern Realms earlier and why she now thinks that Dwarves are involved since she sees Gargoyles. She doesn't quite grasp the concept that everything is different than on her home world. :)

Bethany puts on her best Noble airs as she introduces herself to the strange man before them. "I am Lady Bethany Archaise, 4th Daughter of Lord Dustin Archaise, Most Esteemed Head of House Vex Archaise. This is my consort, the Lord Drazek Darkholme, wielder of Dark Arcane Might."
She waits for the man to pay her the proper respect, her nose tilted up in a haughty glare.

Bethany scowls as she sees the tower coming closer, shocked that somone would use a bird's legs in such an embarassing way.
When the man pokes his head out and begins to talk, her scowl deepens at the realization the man is obviously crazy, a sentiment that is then echoed by Merle and Karrin.
At the mention of stairs she huffs and takes flight, soaring up towards the doorway and making sure that the man gets a good glimpse of her own legs as she does so.

Back and slowly catching up with my PbPs after having to re-format my PC (at least it gave me an excuse to upgrade to Windows 7) and reload everything back onto it.

Bethany stays in the same room as Drazek at the Inn and she wolfs down a meal of venison and gravy, washing it down with some wine, sparkling if they have it.
"I don't think that there's much else we can do really but follow them as we have been. Unless of course there's somewhere in town we you can purchase something that will let you all fly with me."

Bethany turns her nose up at the disgusting creatures, as she pulls her Footbow out and draws and arrow to nock once she's arirborne. Lifting off from the ground with a jump, she soars overhead above the party and takes aim at the foul beasts.

I figure that's all for this pre-round. She'll fire next round if any are still standing from Justin's pyrotechnic display...

Thanks, There wasn't really a good Harpy avatar when I made her so her old one was me settling. I really wanted the Harpy from the Bestiary (it was originally from one of the AP's) but I think this one is actually better suited so I'm happy. :D

Bethany looks at Drazek and whispers, "Fey? Aren't they related to Avariel and Elves? Just what we need. Dark Avariel can be alright sometimes, but the others just don't sit right with me getting up on their podiums all the time looking down on the other races."

Bethany looks at the pair as they're led off and wonders what is going on. "Why those two? There's nothing particularly special about them. Might it be wise to try and talk with them to see if anyone bears them ill will? I know where I come from, grudges are common and magical revenge is a fair way of dealing with a problem."

Bethany thinks for a moment now that her head is clear.
"You know if I didn't know better, I'd almost swear that the two people at the centre of that mess are under the effects of a sympathy spell, although I didn't thnk it could effect so many differing races. Which itself is a little disturbing because that means there is a powerful Wizard around here somewhere causing this problem".
"hmmm... coming from a family of Wizards does have it's benefits sometimes I suppose," she mumbles to herself so that only Drazek could pick it up.

A rock grazes Bethany's temple, drawing a line of blood. The shock of the wound causes her to shake her head groggily and look down at the crowd below her questioningly. She lets go of the man and flaps noisily straight up, wingin over in an arc and landing on the street next to Drazek. She turns to him and angrily asks "what in the name of the Winged Lord was that all about? All I remeber is wnating the man in there more than anything I've ever wanted before. It must be some kind of magical effect."

Spellcraft Check to determine the effect: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Bethany lands next to Drazek and looks up at the city. "If Dwarves live here then where are all their Airships?" she asks the group, but aims the question at Isaac who seems to be the msot knowledable one of the group.

Bethany takes to the sky once out of the cave, winging her way over the landscape and relishing the freedom after the cloistered air of Sigil.
"I wonder who lives in that castle," she says to Drazek idly on one of her returns to the group.

"Dammit, I was hoping we'd get to go back to sleep after the agreement," Bethany whispers to Drazek with a pout.
"Well if we're eating then let's eat," she says to the rest of the assemblage.

*sigh* "Oh well, so much for a little alone time," Bethany mutters under her breath, redrawing her Sabre and moving over to stand near the others.

Bethany looks over at Karrin from wher she's dragging Drazek. "You lot can search the tunnel if you like. Drazek and I will stay here and keep watch while you're gone."

"I don't see them being too dangerous. But then I also don't see what the fascination is with all of the metal you people carry around either." She looks at the dead creatures for a second before grabbing Drazek and pulling him back towards the warmth of the fire.

Bethany lets out a screech and launches herself at the closest creature, skimming low to the ground and landing with a downward slash of her Sabre that unfortunately goes wide.
