About Kyria, the Winged Tyrant
Personality: Kyria has always cared too much. She would love it if people took control of their own lives and made something good of them. She hates to see people suffering. So, being the kind goddess she is, she tries to help them. And, invariably, they resist her, which means she has to force them to comply. The only other option is, after all, complete and utter chaos. Kyria always keeps a very large-scale perspective, and is always ready to sacrifice a few for the good of the many. Doing otherwise would be the height of folly. She has plans of countless steps, branching paths and uncountable contingencies and alternatives. Some find her intimidating or wicked, but she is deeply and truly consistent. All she does is for the greater good and for the building of the Grand Paradise for all. In her heart is a deep frustration and endless bitterness that the world keeps messing things up for her, but she has never given up her fight for everyone, and she never will, no matter what is required of her.
Appearance: She was once mortal, and still holds to that body except in very rare circumstances. She is tall and majestic, with a perfect body, huge white feathered wings, and long, straight white hair. She would be beautiful, if not for a sadness, anger and bitterness deeply lined in her face. She dresses in regal gowns of white or black, and wears a golden crown. In her hand, or hovering nearby, is a simple golden staff.
Worshipers: Kyria has been a goddess for a long, long while. During that time, her chosen people, called the night elves, have spread throughout the planes, always building up empires of floating islands if at all possible. Their aristocracy is a scheming stew pot of raw ambition and decadence, largely a disappointment to the compassionate Kyria. Of course, she is known far and wide beyond this race, and aristocrats, leaders, nobles, lawmakers, enforcers and conquerors everywhere pay tribute to her. The various elemental forces of air took notice long ago, and she has huge numbers of flying or air creatures as servants and worshipers. Many wizards se her as the divine spark of magic itself. Finally, her religion is actively enforced for everyone in conquered realms. It is a harsh religion, where endless rules govern every aspect of people's lives. This is made easier through the fact that everyone can delegate large parts of their duties to their servants.
Realm: Kyria's realm is a gargantuan megalopolis spread out over layer after layer of flying platforms. The architecture is taken directly from her vision of the Grand Paradise: Gold and marble, gigantic towers, serene mansions, ubiquitous sculptures of Kyria, and so on. But even at the heart of her power, the people living here are unhappy for some reason. That shouldn't be! After all, they live in the magnificent realization of Kyria's dream!
