Alrighty, Kua's equipment has been changed up to represent 2nd level starting wealth and I've added a final paragraph to his background to represent his new circumstances. I took a few liberties there, so let me know if there are any problems and I can change it. Edit: Just want to let you know that I am going out of town on Sunday-Wednesday. The place I'm staying is supposed to have wi-fi, so it shouldn't be a big deal, but I wanted to warn you just in case.
Hi DM Bigrin, this is Kua. He was part of a party that got about halfway through Natalya's hideout before the game died off. He also fought his way through the God's Mouth Ossuary before his trip to Magnimar, so he's got some extra equipment. I'd be happy to pare all of it down though, if you wanted to consider him for your game. I believe the rest of his sheet should be in order for you creation rules though.

okay, I thought Kua could getting a running start on that beam. Not a big deal at all. New plan! Once Kua reaches the ledge leading into the other room, he jumps up to grab a rafter and pulls himself above the wrecked floor.
Once up, Kua will move across the rafters to try to get a "drop" on the goblins.

Kua dumps his water skin over his head and armor in an attempt to get some of the muck off. "Okay, we can stash these goods inside the door and sell it later. We've got to deal with those goblins though. They're behind cover in the other room an there is a big gap in front of them. The little buggers seem to be wielding human sized crossbows, so they hurt." Kua gestures at the wound on his side. "If one of us covers with ranged fire, we could get across the gap and hack them to bits behind their crates."

Yikes, that's a little farther than I thought. Regroup it is. Can I retrieve my bow too? Sister Mara wrote:
Kua steps out of the doorway covered in feces, broken glass and blood. "No." the orc responds with a grimace. "I am not. There are more goblins in there. Behind cover, with a twenty foot gap in front of them."

Not sure if this will take a double move or multiple turns. Break it up however it should work. With his adrenaline pumping and furious from the pain from his arrow wound, Kua attempts to jump up, grab the make shift bridge, pull himself up then take a running leap (axe first of course) at the two goblins across the gap in the next room. Not sure what to roll exactly, but here goes: Acrobatics:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

If the remaining goblin in the pit is still around on Kua's turn.. After cleaving through the poo slinging goblin's head, Kua resets his axe an lunges forward at the runt attacking the beam. Attack: Charge if possible 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Damage: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Oops, Damage should be at -2 as well.

Sick of being caught in a cross fire, Kua drops his bow, pulls his axe and leaps into the pit in one motion. Allowing his momentum to carry him, he attempts to bury his axe in the poo flinging goblin. acrobatics if needed 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 2 = 16 Axe attack (charging if possible) 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 2 = 17 Damage 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Kua moves the rest of the way across the board while pulling his bow from his shoulder. "Call me ugly, call me a freak, then you throw s+@& at me. Natalya, your questioning is gong to be painful!" the half orc yells out while choking back bile, hoping their quarry can hear. Kua then turns his head back to the goblins and fires an arrow at on of their over sized heads. To hit:1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 - 2 = 5 Damage:1d8 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 - 2 = 3 Those numbers include point blank shot. If further than 30 feet away, subtract 1 from to hit and damage. Edit: Haha, apparently Kua's still got a bit of barbarian in him and can't make ranged attacks while angry.

Kua slowly draws his bow (if it wasn't out already) and locks his gaze on the one that called him ugly. "We are just here to talk to Natalya. Peacefully." Kua emphasizes the word "peacefully", but his stare lets the thug know that he's willing to entertain other avenues. Intimidate 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Kua nods to Oren. "Agreed. Perhaps sister Mara and I should scout around the buildings first. Probably shouldn't approach from the front."
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Kua waits for his companions to file out of the partially-collapsed warehouse. Once they've gotten ahead by a few feet, he turns back and flicks another gold coin to Fenster. "Thanks." he adds with a nod before catching up. Hopefully that's enough to stop him from tipping anyone off.

Kua tightens his fist as he considers trouncing the old man, but then thinks better of it, figuring he should play nice with the locals for now. The orc reaches into his pouch and produces two more gold, dropping them into the plate. "Better?" Kua adds with a heavy eye roll.

Kua nods at Auron and looks back to Hellion. "Same here. The four of us were sent invitations, but as far as I know, none of us reached out. Also, I understand the Pathfinder society to be a group of explorers so I figure that's what we'll be doing." Oh! Kua adds, remembering his manners. "My name is Kua." The half orc extends a hand out to the icy woman.

Kua takes a seat on an overly stuffed plush chair, pushing it's back firmly against the wall. He's happy to be back indoors, all of the open air had made the journey excruciating. How could you anticipate from any direction? How could you take a defensive position with no walls around you? Shaking those thoughts off, Kua looks to his traveling companions. "Does anyone know anything about this Sheila Heidmarch?"
Male Half Orc Duskwarden 2
Kua shakes the dwarf's hand with a nod. "Thank you warden for all that you've done for me. I'll be back to resume my duties once this is all done." Kua turns to Mara. "If there is money to be gained in traveling to Magnimar, you can safely bet that Auron will be around. To the Warrens then."
Male Half Orc Duskwarden 2
Kua allows his tusks to show through a wide grin. "Mara! You received an invitation too? It seems the Pathfinders are attempting to reassemble our group from the ossuary. We should probably seek Auron and Yang out before we depart. It sounds like you've been to Magnimar before."
Male Half Orc Duskwarden 2
"Warden. First, I've completed all of the details and labeling of the tunnel section under the Ardoc place." Kua passes a large map tube to the dwarf with a feeling of satisfaction. It seemed like it wasn't long ago that the Duskwardens were teaching him to read and write; now he was becoming one of the best cartographers in the organization. "Second, I received this from a messenger today." The orc says as he draws the slip from his cloak and slides it across the table. "It's an invitation from a Venture Captain of the Pathfinder society. She wishes to commission me for some task in Magnimar. I've read of the place in our library. The City of Monuments, they call it. I've no doubt that we could learn much and more from the city itself, and these Pathfinders." Kua scratches the stubble on his cheek anxiously for a moment. "I realize that we are a bit short handed at the moment, but I mean to go. What would you have me do warden?"
Male Half Orc Duskwarden 2
Kua clears off his drawing board as he finishes his most recent map. A section of tunnels just beneath an Ardoc workshop. The craftsmen seemed very cross about the damage done to their constructs by all of those giant centipedes. It seemed strange to the half orc. It wasn't like they had lost any of their brothers that night. Kua had lost two of his fellow Duskwardens to the insects before the nest was located and eliminated. Ink and quill stashed away, map safely rolled up into it's tube, Kua pulls out the letter delivered to him an hour ago. "Hmmm.." Reading it over, his mind began to wander. Kua's place was with the wardens, but what could be learned in the dungeons of Magnimar and what secrets might be gleaned from the Pathfinders themselves? Intrigued and now excited by the offer, the Duskwarden slips the invitation into his cloak pocket and heads to the office of Warden Hammerfell. It seems he would have to make haste if he wanted to cross Varisia and check out Magnimar before his rendezvous.
Male Half Orc Duskwarden 2
Pretty sure Kua is done. Let me know if you see anything goofy.
Also, I'm going to be out of town from Thursday afternoon until Sunday evening. I'll try to check in with my phone if things get started before then. |
