Hi guys. I would regretfully like to cancel ALL of my ongoing subscriptions ASAP. I can no longer afford it right now. Thanks :(

Ok so I've started RRR and a problem has arisen that I was expecting with my group.
I knew they would run back out and explore even after being given the charter. I keep having npcs stress that there is no rush, but they figure it would be smart to know what lies in the areas (hexes) around the fort. I can't really fault them for it, but so far it's only been 2 months that have passed and they've explored around 10 hexes since receiving the charter to colonize.

What can I do to keep them at home?

Ok. So I've read and re-read the Kingdom building rules many time over and there are some things that aren't covered.

The first thing is that in RRR it says that another village "springs up"
around Oleg's trading post....
how is this paid for? do the pcs have to spend build points to actually make this happen?

and when Loy Rezbin wants to build a town...are the pcs fitting the bill for all future buildings as well?

I guess I'm also wondering why people can't just approach the characters in the future with plans to build, say a shop and pay for the whole thing themselves.

There is also nothing in the rules about how long things actually take to build. I decided that one month per square was a good starting point.

I also think that in the beginning I'm not going to penalize the pcs for vacancies. Does the Kingdom really need a general to command their "armies" when the population is so small?
I figure by about month 3 I'll kick ALL the rules in.

If anyone has any feedback I'd love to hear it!

My party has recently begun "Stolen Land" and we are playing with only 3 PC's. In this case there will be alot of leadership roles covered by npcs.
I guess I'm wondering if there is a list somewhere on the boards of all the possible roles that COULD be covered by npcs met in the adventures.

such as Akiros Ismort - General.

I know I saw a list somewhere, but I'm at a loss as to where.

Hey guys I'd like to cancel my Pathfinder AP subscription as well as my Pathfinder campaign setting subscription.
Just moved into my first house and I don't really need serpent's skull or misfit monsters.
Still keeping the core sub and tales!
Thanks guys!

Hey guys.
I'm interested in subscribing again to the Pathfinder Chronicles, but I'm not in the least interested in Misfit Monsters.
I definitely want the Kingamker Map Folio and most everything AFTER Misfits.
If I subscribe would I be able to start with the Kingmaker Map Folio and skip Misfits?

Hey guys.
I would like to cancel my Pathfinder adventure path subscription ASAP!
I simply can't afford ANY subscriptions at the moment.

I'll likely start up again with Kingmaker.
Thanks!

Jason

Hi Cos

I would regretfully like to cancel my Pathfinder Chronicles subscription effective as soon as possible!

Thank you very much!

Hey!
Due to holiday money issues I'd like to cancel my Pathfinder Companion and Pathfinder Modules subscriptions asap.

Thanks again!

Hey Cosmo....I'd like to remove the GM Screen from this order.
I'd actually like to end my "Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscription" AFTER I receive the Bestiary

Thanks!

Hey guys. I would like to cancel my Pathfinder Chronicles Subsrcription for the time being. Thanks

Hey. I want to place an order, but my cart still has my Pathfinder sub renewal in it.
I don't want to cancel my sub, so what I'm asking is : Is it safe to remove it from my cart?
(I can't remove it from the main page)

Hey guys.
I would like to renew my Pathfinder adventure path subscription, but I would like to start with the first issue of Legacy of Fire.

Can you help me out?

Thanks!

Okay so I have recently come into the possession of a Shield Guardian and have cast Awaken Construct (Spell Compendium)
Now I am unsure how to proceed with it.
I know that it gains a feat for every 3 levels (it's an advanced guardian with 19 HD, so that would mean 7 feats)
But what about it's advancement? What would it's character level be equivalent to?
I have a week to iron out the details, but using the method of calculating ECL in the MM is not the best idea because the Guardian would have an unrealistic ECL.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

edit: our party's average level is 15. Mine is a 15th level Wizard

Hey. I would like to cancel my Pathfinder subscription.
I love the magazine, but for the moment my money is needed elsewhere.
Thanks,
Jason.

Hey. Just wanted to ask if you could please cancel my Gamemastery modules subscription.
Thanks,
Jason.

Well the game itself may be questionable, but that artwork is pretty sweet.

Had an idea kicking around in my head for a while now.
This stems from how fighters always seem to be the target of 'hold person'.

Why is it that EVERY fighter has to have the same saving throw make-up?
Or wizards? etc....

What if we were able to take points for our saves and distribute them as we see fit?

eg: A fighter gets a +2 base fort save a t first level right?
Take those 2 points and either put them both in your will save. Or your Ref save. Or one in each. Or leave it in Fort if you so desire?

Who is to say a fighter can't be strong of Will and not so much on the Fortitude scale.

Any thoughts?

I just checked my subscriptions because I was wondering why I havent received word of Pathfinder #7 shipping yet.
It says my last issue that shipped is #6 and that my next is #8.
Nothing at all about #7!

Now the other thing I was wondering: I started my subscription to Gamemastery after I had already been sub to Pathfinder, but when I did so I chose the option "ship as one shipment"
Now the only time they actually arrived together was with Hangman's Noose and PF # 5 & 6.
Just wondering about what my shipping costs should be and all that.

Thanks,
Jason

So at long last Paizo has decided to throw caution to the wind and continue supporting 3.5 en route to their own version of the rules.
Now alot of the people here will be thrilled with this decision. (myself included) But of course there will be many out there who are less than pleased. So I say lets not use this announcement to add further fuel to the fire of 3.5 vs 4E.
A choice had been made, whether people agree with it or not. So please do not start with the "I told you so" threads.

Paizo is really throwing caution to the wind here by not tossing their hat into full support of 4E. Please do not fault them for making what many might deem "a bad business decision". Please respect the fine folk at Paizo for making a decision that they feel is best for them.
Of course only time will tell what the future brings. But I hope this announcement can at least bring the tension level down a bit on the 3.5 vs. 4E scale.

I thank Paizo for listening to their fans and putting their trust in our hands. We wont let you down.

So I received nearly all the items in my order and I'm relatively happy (wish I could've got the other freeport books. Tried but were gone)

but in my order it says ; Items not shipped : Avatars Handbook
Does this mean it's still going to ship?

ps: thanks for the pack of item cards. It was a nice touch. I never realized how cool they are!

Ok so I've just (nearly) finished Encounter at Blackwall. The party is on their way back to the keep.
I plan on bringing in 2 new characters in between, but I'm stuck for a good way/reason for the 2 new guys to meet the rest of the group.
The swordsage died near the end of the adventure. That player is now brnging in a Whisper Gnome Ranger/Barbarian (fav enemy undead) and a friend who is down for one night will be playing a Warforged fighter.
Now before they return to Diamond Lake they will have the fight with the Spawn of Kyuss, but at 6th level they should put it down without a scratch.
The Gnome's player has mentioned he may be searching for the person that wiped out nearly all of his clan. I was toying with the idea of that person being Darl Quethos. I really think a character that cool should be foreshadowed in some way.

I know this isn't much to go on, but I always hate bringing characters in mid-campaign. Any ideas are appreciated

I was wondering what the status of my 2 orders are. I haven't heard anything in quite awhile.
Thanks.

I just read the blog on the Harrow Deck being used in the 2nd AP.
Man does this sound awesome! I loved the way that in Ravenloft the Tarot deck helped decide the direction of the adventure.
I'm wondering if you guys can give any examples of how it's gonna work?
Oh man oh man oh man! :)

I have a couple questions:

1. I wanted to order the Advanced Bestiary along with some other things but when I added it to the 8 or so things in my cart, the shipping cost went through the roof! So I figured I'd wait. (My order is still "pending")
So then I see Hell in Freeport and think I might want it and the AB.
I put the AB in my cart and shipping for it is around $7, making $12 total; thats cool. But when I added Hell in Freeport my shipping jumped to $25!!! WHAT?!!
Why is it so much cheaper to order them each separately?!
It's only like $17 total if I order them separately and $32.50 together. I am a little confused.

Was just wondering if anyone has any insight regarding when the Eamonvale Incursion will finally see the light of day.
It's been talked about for what..? 2 years now?

I was just curious about when we can expect to see the online supplements for issues 144 and 145?

Seems March is a bad month for magazines as I am missing Dragon 353 as well as Dungeon.
How long IS a typical wait for Ontario?

I went to the "my subscriptions" page and it says my LAST issue is 149, so the FIRST issue of my new sub is 144.
I'm not sure which one was the last issue of my previous sub.
If it was 143 then I havent received it. I would have liked it to be the first issue of my subscription.

I plan on staring a new campaign using rules from HoH and I was wondering if anyone knows any older dungeon modules that would have the appropriate "Lovecraftian" feel to them.
I have pretty much all of the 3rd edition dungeon magazines so I'm wondering more about the stuff b4 issue 82.
Any ideas/ suggestions would be much appreciated.

P.S. I am also using the campaign setting "SpirosBlaak"

I just picked up the Fiendish Codex: Hordes of the Abyss and after reading the introduction it said that the book contained prestige classes. But after flipping through it was apparent that there were none.
Not that this would have affected my decision to buy the book, but it makes me wonder if the classes just couldn't be fit into the book and whether they will ever see the light of day.

Great book, otherwise.

I have recently read the editorial in the latest issue of Dungeon and Erik said a little something about "The Mud Sorcerer's Tomb".
I find myself practically salivating at the thought of it.
Can anyone shed some light as to what issue this is going to take place in?

A subject that I feel hasn't really been covered in the rules is what exactly can cause a character to wake up from sleep in D&D. (Other than loud noise or rigorous motion)

For example :
what type of rolls would you give to someone trying to wake up if they are simply being touched?

What if someone is being level-drained while sleeping?

I wasn't really sure where to put this thread, but anyways here it is....
Does anyone else here think that "CR" is designed really poorly?
I recently ran part 2 of the "Istivin City of Shadows" arc (Spoiler ahead), and my party had a very hard time with a certain Hill Giant Cleric Level 12.
Now the challenge rating he was given is 13. *scratching head*
The Illithid Sorcerer in the Monster Manual had a CR of 17 (old CR + Sorcerer levels)
So shouldn't the Giant's be 19?
The Eldritch Giant from MM 3has a base CR of 15, but the 11th lv cleric has a CR of 19.
How do the developers justify one and not the other?
