Hi guys. I would regretfully like to cancel ALL of my ongoing subscriptions ASAP. I can no longer afford it right now. Thanks :(

thank you both for the advice.
Maybe I am pushing the building aspect too much, but in past campaigns everything always seems to move along so quickly (oh look I'm level 20 in less than a year of game time)

I do however think my group is more than capable of taking on the kingdom building aspects.
I think they'll need to be told by an advisor that the people need to look to them for guidance, but it's kinda hard when they're out exploring.

Gonturan I really like your idea of a harsh winter. (that'll put a damper on road-building too)

we'll see how it goes!

Raistlin

Ok so I've started RRR and a problem has arisen that I was expecting with my group.
I knew they would run back out and explore even after being given the charter. I keep having npcs stress that there is no rush, but they figure it would be smart to know what lies in the areas (hexes) around the fort. I can't really fault them for it, but so far it's only been 2 months that have passed and they've explored around 10 hexes since receiving the charter to colonize.

What can I do to keep them at home?

Raistlin

Chris, the maps are always great...but when are we gonna see a fantasy city map!? :)

Raistlin

I'm glad someone asked this...I would like to know as well.

Raistlin

First impression: LOVE IT!

there are so many things I like there are too many to list right now.
I love all the creatures that are drawn from real-world myths and folklore.
You guys should release a whole book just on creatures like that :D

LOVE IT!

Opulence doeth a higher cost make...

Events are good... There are some great events in Pathfinder 3 under Keeping up the Keep for running a Keep and can be expanded for a full town or kingdome... Such as travelling minstrells or even a full carnival comming to town... and remember the overall Year in Months in Golarion for Festivals and whatnot... like the Swallowtail festival they have in Varisia for Desna and such...

Yeah I downloaded a great calender another guy did here on the boards and it has all the relevant holidays listed.

I guess it all depends on what the pcs decide.
None of them are really very religious, but they do have a respect for Erastil.
I've wanted to introduce a variety of clerics to the party so they will have more to choose from when it comes time to pick a head priest.

I'll have to dig issue #3 and check it all out :)

Raistlin

Thanks for the replies guys :)

I would figure that Tatzlford would definitely grow much slower than the pcs kingdom (and it does) because he wouldn't have near as many resources as the pcs do.

So I guess it's up to me how developed Olegton gets or whether people might randomly ask the pcs if they can pay for the building costs of a building WITHIN the party's kingdom. I just don't see the party wanting to randomly build a bunch of mansions or manor houses unless a noble asks them to.
I just wanted to clarify.

I've thought of expanding the "Events" table to add more options.
Like someone coming to town with the proposal to build something....or say one of the leaders goes missing while on a mission and so on.

I also thought of adding a higher building cost depending on how opulent the pcs want to make certain buildings.

Hey Johnny:

BOOGERRRRRRRRRR!

Raistlin

Ok. So I've read and re-read the Kingdom building rules many time over and there are some things that aren't covered.

The first thing is that in RRR it says that another village "springs up"
around Oleg's trading post....
how is this paid for? do the pcs have to spend build points to actually make this happen?

and when Loy Rezbin wants to build a town...are the pcs fitting the bill for all future buildings as well?

I guess I'm also wondering why people can't just approach the characters in the future with plans to build, say a shop and pay for the whole thing themselves.

There is also nothing in the rules about how long things actually take to build. I decided that one month per square was a good starting point.

I also think that in the beginning I'm not going to penalize the pcs for vacancies. Does the Kingdom really need a general to command their "armies" when the population is so small?
I figure by about month 3 I'll kick ALL the rules in.

If anyone has any feedback I'd love to hear it!

Raistlin

do any of these sheets exist in a simple blank pdf?

Raistlin

Fenix you are awesome!!
These are much appreciated!

Raistlin

"Heya"
"Heya"
"Heya"

Raistlin

Have you read The Book of Experimental Might?

Raistlin

Thank you so much.
I KNEW I had read it before, but it was awhile ago. Of course it was in such an obvious place too lol.

I plan on adding to this list with some NPC's of my own creation.
I want the pc's to have plenty of options.
Of course each NPC will have their own secrets too hehe

There are so many ways this campaign could turn out.

Raistlin

My party has recently begun "Stolen Land" and we are playing with only 3 PC's. In this case there will be alot of leadership roles covered by npcs.
I guess I'm wondering if there is a list somewhere on the boards of all the possible roles that COULD be covered by npcs met in the adventures.

such as Akiros Ismort - General.

I know I saw a list somewhere, but I'm at a loss as to where.

Raistlin

Hey guys I'd like to cancel my Pathfinder AP subscription as well as my Pathfinder campaign setting subscription.
Just moved into my first house and I don't really need serpent's skull or misfit monsters.
Still keeping the core sub and tales!
Thanks guys!

Raistlin

Awesome!
I checked the site out and it seems the subscriber option is still available. Wonder how long it will be though.
I want to subscribe, but too tired tonight.

Also, any word on where exactly in Golarion this will be set?

Raistlin

ok ok. I SOMEWHAT agree on the set-piece thing, but I meant that something similar to that.
Their hearts were in the right place with set pieces

Raistlin

holy smokes! when did this happen?!?!

Only the first part was originally released through Necromancer games, correct?
Is the WHOLE 3 part series gonna be released now?

*drools*

Raistlin

The only thing that really bugs me about the format of the magazine is the "Faiths" articles. NOT because they aren't well-written, because they ARE. It's because a player doesn't have these articles readily available for them. These books are supposed to be for DMs.
I think the faith articles should NOT be in the Pathfinder adv path issues....they need their own book. For all I know there may be one in the works...but it will contain alot of recycled content if thats the case.

What I would really like to see in the magazine is the return of set-pieces...or something similar, like adventure hooks or short side treks.

How can one NOT want Misfit Monsters ? :(

well I just can't afford everything right now. This seems like more of a novelty product to me.

I guess I'll subscribe, cancel and re-sub after misfits, thanks :D

Raistlin

Hey guys.
I'm interested in subscribing again to the Pathfinder Chronicles, but I'm not in the least interested in Misfit Monsters.
I definitely want the Kingamker Map Folio and most everything AFTER Misfits.
If I subscribe would I be able to start with the Kingmaker Map Folio and skip Misfits?

Raistlin

BEST PLAYER'S GUIDE EVER!

Can't wait to start running this one!

Raistlin

ROUGE is a color.
And if you hit someone with it sneakily too many times, then they just don't look right

Raistlin

Hey guys.
I would like to cancel my Pathfinder adventure path subscription ASAP!
I simply can't afford ANY subscriptions at the moment.

I'll likely start up again with Kingmaker.
Thanks!

Jason

Hi Cos

I would regretfully like to cancel my Pathfinder Chronicles subscription effective as soon as possible!

Thank you very much!

Raistlin

Hey!
Due to holiday money issues I'd like to cancel my Pathfinder Companion and Pathfinder Modules subscriptions asap.

Thanks again!

Raistlin

I wanna see the Giant Slor!

Raistlin

Thank you sir!

Raistlin

Hey Cosmo....I'd like to remove the GM Screen from this order.
I'd actually like to end my "Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscription" AFTER I receive the Bestiary

Thanks!

Raistlin

Hmmm not a fan of sci-fi maps at all, but thrilled to see Chris' return!

Yes they are a bit pricey though...

Raistlin

YESSSS Finally!!!!

Not only Eamonvale, but also Slumbering Tsar and Demonheart are all available in PDF!

About time I say!

Raistlin

Looks like a great adventure....but I HATE HATE HATE the font!
It's too cartoony. Takes away from the creepiness.

Raistlin

Thanks for the clarification :)

I don't have that issue. I didn't know there was a feat as well.

Raistlin
Scott Carter wrote:
Where is Dervish Dance?

Dervish Dance is not a feat at all.

It's a class ability of the Dervish prestige class from Complete Warrior.

Raistlin

I still HATE the skill rank system. If it's a class skill you automatically are maxed in it if you take a "rank"?
I like the original system better...which I plan to keep using.
We should be allowed to "dabble" if we choose to.
Too many skills were consolidated together as well.

I don't really care for that fact that a half-orc can now get a +2 to CHA.
Proficiency with the Falchion and Greataxe I also hate.
Why would they do away with the -2 INT and -2 CHA stereotype (that half-orcs are dumb and ugly) and add another stereotype that all half-orcs know how to use big weapons!!??

I am not thrilled with skill focus adding ANOTHER +3 at 10th level. Whats the point?

I'm still on the fence about what they did to the prestige classes saves.

DR was the absolute worst change in 3.5 and now we are once again stuck with it. A variant to DR sidebar would have been nice. Maybe in the Beastiary?

What are you talking about?

You must be thinking of "Aasimon"

I hate Aasimar being referred to as "good" Tieflings.
It totally blows how they always take a backseat to them.

Raistlin

When are Aasimar gonna get some love!?

Raistlin

Things around here just keep getting better and better!

Raistlin

I haven't even received the LAST shipment yet!
(Pathfinder 24 and Beyond the Vault of Souls)

Raistlin

More maps from Chris! It's been far too long.

Hunger strikes all around!

Hey guys. I would like to cancel my Pathfinder Chronicles Subsrcription for the time being. Thanks

Anybody planning to write the Epic Pathfinder rules?

I'm sure Jason's got plenty of time these days... :)

(ducks)

That's kind of the holdup, honestly... we can't do 20th+ level content until we decide if we want to just use the epic rules as-is (not my favorite choice) or rebuild them for PFRPG (the better choice) with a built-in band of levels with a cap the same way there's a cap at level 20 for standard play.

And building epic level stuff is probably going to take a long time as is. And we'll be busy getting the base game up and running for a while even before that.

Oohh. 21-30 epic, 31-40 immortality 41 you're a god? :-)
Only if you remember to say "yes" :)

Ray, the next time somebody asks you if you're a god, you say YES!

Raistlin

It wouldn't bother me if the Map folios were gone. But ONLY because it's all reprinted material.
If you were offering NEW maps by...say...Chris West, then I'd be all over it.
I AM however very much looking forward to the City map folio!
