I still HATE the skill rank system. If it's a class skill you automatically are maxed in it if you take a "rank"?
I like the original system better...which I plan to keep using.
We should be allowed to "dabble" if we choose to.
Too many skills were consolidated together as well.
I don't really care for that fact that a half-orc can now get a +2 to CHA.
Proficiency with the Falchion and Greataxe I also hate.
Why would they do away with the -2 INT and -2 CHA stereotype (that half-orcs are dumb and ugly) and add another stereotype that all half-orcs know how to use big weapons!!??
I am not thrilled with skill focus adding ANOTHER +3 at 10th level. Whats the point?
I'm still on the fence about what they did to the prestige classes saves.
DR was the absolute worst change in 3.5 and now we are once again stuck with it. A variant to DR sidebar would have been nice. Maybe in the Beastiary?

Devas are the new equivalent to Aasimars, who were little more than white, good tieflings.
What are you talking about?
You must be thinking of "Aasimon"
I hate Aasimar being referred to as "good" Tieflings.
It totally blows how they always take a backseat to them.

Anybody planning to write the Epic Pathfinder rules?
I'm sure Jason's got plenty of time these days... :)
(ducks)
That's kind of the holdup, honestly... we can't do 20th+ level content until we decide if we want to just use the epic rules as-is (not my favorite choice) or rebuild them for PFRPG (the better choice) with a built-in band of levels with a cap the same way there's a cap at level 20 for standard play.
And building epic level stuff is probably going to take a long time as is. And we'll be busy getting the base game up and running for a while even before that.
Oohh. 21-30 epic, 31-40 immortality 41 you're a god? :-)
Only if you remember to say "yes" :)
Ray, the next time somebody asks you if you're a god, you say YES!

Now is an ideal time. Just add a subscription to your cart; when you begin checkout, you'll be given the choice of starting with the current volume (the end of Second Darkness) or the next volume (the beginning of Legacy of Fire).
We're going to begin shipping it next week!
That's awesome!
Thanks alot for the quick reply Vic. And on a Friday night too!
You guys are the best!

Thank you very much for taking the time to put together such a great response! I appreciate it and I'll definitely run your ideas by my DM.
Unfortunately the rest of the Awaken Construct spell is rather vague on how to handle things.
I DO agree with alot of the things you said. Most of the abilities it has could all be mimicked through spells or magic items (which a 15th level party should have no trouble finding)
Pretty much any class of comparable hit dice would be stronger than the guardian. And thats not even factoring magical gear.
I had considered running some mock fights against...say your 12th level Bbn.
I was hoping to have some designers insights as well.
ECL IS probably the most blurred area of the game.

Well it's summer 2008. Still no sign....
I still honestly don't understand how Necro can put out ZERO products for MONTHS. They rant about not being able to put 3.5 products on the shelf beside 4e products and yet there was plenty of time between the transition that they could have used putting SOMETHING out there.
I really dont understand why they could not have at least released Incursion as a PDF only under 3.5. Is that too much to ask? I bought the pdf of Grey Citadel so I would prefer to have a pdf of Incursion.
You guys could have released the PDF a YEAR ago....
Oh wait I just realized that if you guys had done that, what would stop people from converting the adventure to 4e themselves? Shrewd?...maybe
As for saying I was lied to; I believe that not telling people why things are really being done and dancing around questions may as well be the same as lying.
Ah well. Why do I bother?

Should Fire elementals be conceivably vulnerable to fire, if you can muster enough of it? If I can muster a kajillion points of fire damage, should that affect a fire elemental?
Why not? Fight fire with fire, they say. An explosion can blow out a fire, or destroy everything that could be burned in the area, or even suffocate the fire.
I am a meat elemental. Lob an Easter ham at me, do I not bruise?
Fire Elemental, meet the Meat Elemental.
Feed a small city for months :P

I don't really have a fix in mind, per se.
The main problem with the armor is that the most AC bonus you're gonna have is +9 (not including magic mods)
chain shirt gives +4 ac, but has a max dex of +4.
breastplate +5 with max dex of +3. You're better off having bracers of armor.
I often wondered why they don't have an "armor focus" feat.
Say it gives +1 to your ac. And if you take "armor specialization" you get DR/2-
Or maybe at least eliminate the max dex for light armor...
