Change of mind. Since 3rd party is opened up Im going to take advantage of opportunity and try out an Aasimar - Mighty Godling/Warlock.

Throwing my hat in this ring.

Im thinking of reskinning this character as a drow black bladed magus/two weapon fighter or Wizard...or maybe something else. So many options!...

will start statting him out.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar smiled as his companions got into a protective circle around him...no, not companions; friends indeed. Every one should be so lucky...

The elven magus steeled himself and then began the ritual.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29

Koremar studied the staff and the fairly common star on the floor of the tower top. He recalled a lesson on such things and felt fairly certain he knew what to do...Master Sicsivicus would be proud...

I know what must be done my friends...but it will take some time. The Queen might have forseen this and readied counter measures. I will need your protection throughout the ritual. If disrupted I do not know what will happen.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Indeed he does!

Koremar will take a few minutes to look over the things that Kreg had found on the Queen.

Spellcraft Headband: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Spellcraft Potion 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Spellcraft Potion 2: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16
Spellcraft Potion 3: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Spellcraft Ring: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

We should also heal up in case we run into any fanatical resistance left in this keep.

The magus will retrive his wand and set about healing the group.

Wand: 2d8 + 3 + 42 ⇒ (4, 4) + 3 + 42 = 53 /58 HP

13 charges left, who needs them? Go on and roll 2d8 + 3/charge.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar will point out the magical items and vials to Kreg as he retrieves the crook.

Now we just need to get to the highest tower and go through the ritual.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Besides the fact that I couldnt dent it? Yes. it radiated strong auras of divination, enchantment, and illusion schools... at least as they were taugh to me. Can you discern more perhaps?

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Seeing the prudence in Kreg's actions; Koremar lended what aid he could.

Casgt Detect Magic

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

So thats it then? Why doesnt it feel like its over?

Koremar didnt know to feel at the moment. He should be elated that they'd just saved the world from the Queen's intrusion but the victory felt hollow.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar watches the Mwangi warrior's axe fall with finality.

Mai'Tahl:
Is it done then? How will we know when she's really dead?

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Mai'Tahl:
...Long last my friend? Have you faced her before?..

The odds were turning in their favor. If they could just dispatch the other two duplicates or catch the real Queen with an attack they could focus their assault.

Koremar stepped right in to take on one of the queens.

Round 3:

Mai'Tahl attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Good news!

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Im headed out of town for the weekend and will be too busy to post most likely. DMPC Koremar if necessary and I'll be back at it on Sunday evening.

side note - am I all alone in here? its too quiet ^_^

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Current Stats:

HP = 42/58, 4/8 Arcane Pool, Bull's Strength & Mirror Image active

Koremar took the magical strike in stride. He was more shocked by the voice in his head...is that you Mai'Tahl?... His masters had said that one day this might happen but he didnt have much time to contemplate the 'what ifs' at the moment.

He knew the group of heros didnt stand a chance until they found the true Queen so he again called upon his talents and melds sword and spell in his assualt on one of the Queens.

Round 2:

Casting Defensively DC 15: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Mai'Tahl attack: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 - 2 = 28

Mai'Tahl damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Acid Splash/Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 - 2 = 7

Acid damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar waded right into the group of queens behind the stout Mwangi warrior and clever gnome with Mai'Tahl leading the way and attacking one of the other duplicates.

Mai'Tahl attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 2 = 29

damage: 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 = 12

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar follows along behind his trusty companions with Mai'Tahl at the ready.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Up sounds good.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Current stats:

HP = 58/58, AC = 20, + 2 Reflex, 4/8 Arcane Pool

Blessing - Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.

Anyone able to see where she went? We mustve hurt her bad for her to run.

Koremar will focus his Detect Magic spell sweeping the room for any clues.

@ motteditor - can we go up or down those stairs?

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Current stats & Blessing:
HP = 58/58, AC = 20, + 2 Reflex, 7/8 Arcane Pool

Blessing - Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.

Koremar's disappointment knew no end at the moment. He really had expected to have more of an impact on the mirror but perhaps it was for the best. He scanned the tree for the vile queen hoping his elven eyes were keen enough.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

If he sees her:

Aha! There she is!

He yells pointing at the spot. He calls upon his arcane arts charging his hand with cold energy and reaches out to touch her.

Touch attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 2 = 16

Non lethal Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 + fatigued

If he doesnt see her:

Swift action - use Spell recall to remember Force Punch - 3 Arcane Pool

Cast Detect magic to find the queen again.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

^Indeed, thanks for the heads up. Hope the weather doesnt ruin your trip...and since Im close to DC I hope we dont lose power as well.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

No worries Kreg! I'll act for you.

With Rhoswin revealed and Abigail's blessing guiding him; Kreg moved and thrust his spear at her.

Blessing bonus - Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.

Longspear: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 2 = 23

Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 + Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Per Kreg's wishes if theres room to charge he will do so. + 2 Attack and Sneak Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 4) = 17

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Current stats:

HP = 58/58, AC = 20, + 2 Reflex, 7/8 Arcane Pool

Koremar was prepared to take a chance and play a hunch. He once again rued his poor attentiveness during his lessons...forgive me Yuelral and Findeladra...but I must destroy this mirror...a thing of magic and art...guide my hand for the better good...what is seven years bad luck to elven life span?...

He felt Abigail's blessing course through him and used it bolster his attack.

Blessing & Magus actions:
Blessing - Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Magus - Swift Action to spend 1 Arcane point to make Mai'tahl Frost and using Spellcombat to add an Empowered Force Punch as second attack.

His drew back his frost wreathed black blade and struck at the mirror.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 2 - 2 = 22
1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 + frost: 1d6 ⇒ 6

After hitting the mirror the elven warrior called upon his arts and delivered his spell through his beloved Mai'tahl.

Force Punch: 1d20 + 10 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 - 2 = 23
1d8 + 5 + 10d4 ⇒ (3) + 5 + (1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 4, 2, 4, 1) = 32 + frost: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar couldnt shake the belief that the mirror was the key to this fight. So he kept the focus of his detection spell on it and attempted to determine the nature of its auras.

Knowledge Arcana Aura 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Knowledge Arcana Aura 2: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22
Knowledge Arcana Aura 3/ most powerful: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27

Spellcraft/Determine Mirrors's properties: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar was torn. The warrior in him desperately wanted to strike at the Queen now that she was revealed but the magical adept in him was transfixed by the mirror and he wondered briefly what it did and how he didnt notice it before.

Maintain focus on Detect Magic

...could this instrument of vanity be the key to Rhoswin's demise?...

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar gritted his teeth at the missed opportunity to attack the dreaded Queen. He knew his sword was a paltry weapon against the tree but he could find her at least like he did before.

cast Detect Magic

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

With the Queen out of sight and most likely up to no good with nefarious plans...one of which Abigail must have thwarted considering that wail... Koremar had no target and chose to bolster his own defenses with magic.

Cast Mirror Image

He muttered in elven and gestured causing several illusory doubles of himself to manifest around him.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

I was just waiting my turn but I'll go on and post.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Unfortunately we cant attack someone in full cover.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

Shes cast a powerful illusion spell. Be wary. Shes right there in the tree!

Koremar points to the magic signature and readies an attack in case the Queen surprises him.

Mai'tahl: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar nodded at Abigail for her quick thinking in waking up Thunder and called upon his arts to let him see magical dweomers.

Cast Detect Magic and start to scan the room.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar's heart lurched when he saw Thunder fall down and he lashed out at the elemental with his blade.

Mai'tahl: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

who's turn is it?

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

The elven magus wove his way further through the columns trying to get to a position to help out Thunder.

Full move to get into flanking position against the air elemental.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar moved into the rom as well. I forgot to give direction as to where though so 30' from current position.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Ware the air elemental at her side friends!

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar was stunned by the Queen's beauty even his heart dropped at the scene in the mirror....We must stop her my friends!..no matter the cost...

The elf cast a spell to make himself stronger and followed the mighty warrior into the throne room. He wondered what the cloud of smoke was beside her.

Knowledge/Arcana: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Thunder:
Go on and roll till youre full HP and I'll subtract the charges. Its 2d8 + 3.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Does anyone require healing?

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

yes, let's leave no enemies behind to threaten us when we finally meet up with the Queen.

Koremar pulle dout his wand and started healing the various wounds he'd taken so far in the manor.

HP = 32/58

2d8 + 3 + 32 ⇒ (7, 1) + 3 + 32 = 43

2d8 + 3 + 43 ⇒ (7, 4) + 3 + 43 = 57

Wand has 18 charges left.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Sorry, busier than normal weekend.

Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Koremar struggled to stay free of the vines as he struck again at the spriggan.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar watched as the creepers seemed to swarm around the group and nimbly avoided them as he moved to flank Thunder on the north.

Reflex DC 10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Coming up he slashed at the spriggan with his trusty long sword.

Mai'Tahl attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 2 = 15

Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

At Thunder's urging; the elven magus sidesteps out of the way and moves forward towards the spriggans.

Move 30' and Ready an attack if any get within melee range.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

With no immediate threat visible; Koremar steps fully through the door with Mai'Tahl at the ready and his eyes ever vigilant.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Sorry, Ive been on a mini-vacation also so posting has been slower than usual. Im still in it to the end.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Once Kreg gives the ok on the door Koremar eases the southern door open and peers inside.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar indicates the single door and takes position facing the southern doors in case the patrol returned and surprised them.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar tightens his grip on Mai'Tahl and readies himself to face whatever is approaching.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar follows along behind the eager gnome up the stairs.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Koremar nods at the doors that Kreg is pointing at.

Looks good friend. Lets go.

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

Map

With the group back together; Koremar was confident that they could finish their task.

Can you check these doors in the kitchen Kreg?

Male Elf Bladebound Magus 1

With a saddened frown Koremar stabs the satyr in its heart. He just simply couldnt afford leaving such a capable enemy behind them in their quest to finish the Queen.
