If her magic missile is successful, she will follow with Force Missiles, until combat is resolved.

Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Force Missile: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Force Missile: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

If unsuccessfully, there is little she can do, other than try and keep Kendra safe, and back-seat drive, Ulric combat :). She will have her dagger out.

As Koal made it to the window (but unable to cast detect magic), I have assumed she is able to see outside.

Perception check for outside: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14. Can she see the 2 bugs? Is she aware of the link between the piper and the creatures? Is the piper one of the 2 farm-boy brothers?

If yes to the above, she will inform the guys inside the feast hall whats going on.

If no to the above, seeing the guys have control of the flaming girl, she will still endeavor to find out whats happening outside.

I am making another assumption, that people in the feast hall, other than ourselves, will attempt to put out any fires?

OK, so I didn'r read everything before responding, even the bit I was supposed to... what can I say. What is the 'rule' for changing your actions? Obviously, Koal will NOT be casting a spell in a dining hall filled with people (if I can correct her actions). Alternatively, she will get up, and go have a look outside, perception check of 13 still stands? If she is able to cast detect magic without everyone being aware of her casting (paranoid locals and all), she will do so.

Koal is where ever Kendra is. Perception check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13, Spellcraft check 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14, Knowledge Arcana Check 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20, Intelligence Check 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5, (which ever applies). If Kendra hasn't already noticed the phenomenon, she will make her aware. Then she was cast detect magic, and observe the area in general.

All in all, Koal had enjoyed her day at the market. Even the two farm boys had provided an enjoyable distraction.

Watching Ulric fawn all over Kendra was also entertaining.

'Men' she though, 'no concept of the way a woman's mind works. If your not going to make a move, stop crowding her. It just looks painful to watch.' :)

Koal didn't feel like any intrigue today deciding to leave the trouble making up to the others, and see what pops up.

Contraire to popular belief, Koal has been looking forward to market day. In the days following the party's night time adventure, she had taken the reprieve in activity to relax in Kendra's library, reading. With market day looming, she had given much thought to what to wear, her own wardrobe limited to 2 variations of an adventurer's outfit.

Koal will try and improve her relationships with Kendra, accepting her invitation, even though she had already planned on going anyways. She will also prevail upon Kendra for access to her wardrobe, perhaps the loan of a lovely dress? It has to be a dress, as she will have a cold iron dagger strapped to her inner thigh. If Kendra doesn't want to share, she will pop into town and do some shopping - no biggie either way.

Koal will keep her eyes open for Lucem and his brother at the market, and over the course of conversation ask if any other animals had been found drained, strange events etc etc etc. She doesn't mind flirting and chatting to either of the farm boys, but neither will be getting 'lucky' and she will not be accepting any offers to secluded destinations.

The very though of touching the foul corpses made Koal's skin crawl. She failed abysmally at concealing her disgust. 'Typical men' she thought, watching the rest of the party, except the cute little gnome, pretending to be overly busy at other tasks; seriously, how long does it take to close a couple of doors.

Koal will cast Resistance on herself, Malstrom and anyone else helping to move corpses. It lasts 1 minute, but can be recast over and over (Level 0 spell). She will then then follow the same precautions as Malstrom

Add +1 to your fortitude saves, Malstrom.

Fortitude Save (+2, +2, +1): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

We should erase any evidence of our being here as best we can, except the bodies, I'm not touching those, gross!!

Koal will have a nice sleep in tomorrow, then learn lots of identify spells. There is no gold requirement anymore, simply providing a +10 spellcraft bonus

Identify 1: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
Identify 2: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
Identify 3: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35

Each casting last 3 rounds, and works like detect magic. Perhaps I wont need to cast all 3 spells?

"Hey all, look here, the dust on the ground appears to have been disturbed recently. And look at the far end of the room, near the sarcophogi there, it appears as if a small pile of bones has accumulated. From this distance they appear to be vermin, bat and bird bones. It is just possible that something has made this tomb its home, and those are the remnants of ts meals."

Koal will cast detect magic and check out the room, specifically the pile of bones in the corner.

If combat is over, Koal will pick up a stick or such, and cast 'Light' on it. 20 foot radius, and last 10 minutes. Can recast as often as she likes.

Koal will help peruse the documents:

Disregarding Malstrom's comment regarding her boyfriends Koal, will check a map and see if their farm is close to either the crypt or burn out prison etc.

"My business is that urgent that we need disturb the Councilor today, if you think its a bad idea? Trade day is only 2 days away after-all. Perhaps if your both not to busy, you would like to show me the highlights around town instead? I can always come back another time on my own if need be."

Yada Yada Yada.. tour round town, get a feel for the place; be attentive as they regale with stories of their magnificent mundane lives; get general gossip; invite them to lunch or snacks (depending on the time of the day); flute playing hey? ask when market day is (she can't wait); and at the end of the day, tell them how great a day she had, and go home.

Narrator Prime, no need to drag this out if its not going to yield anything to the campaign. Koal doesn't really want to bring herself to the mysterious, fear-inducing councilor's attention, especially not knowing what the rogue has stolen. A visit on trade day, with the original intent, will be fine if necessary. When she can, Koal will just make her way home, and make followup plans with the group.

Ah, Koal might actually do a sense motive check first (before she engages in conversation), just to make sure she is not being escorted to her execution. Take that first diplomacy check as a sense motive please (bonus is the same).

If it is going particularly well, she will ask about the whispering way, prison fire rumors etc.

As she is being escorted, Koal will attempt to engage in conversation, specifically anything strange been happening in town, strangers coming and going, prior to the arrival of funeral guests such as her, etc.

If the conversation turns bad, she will attempt to swing the attention back to them, in a flirty way.

If there is an Inn or Tavern nearby, or somewhere where she can keep an eye on the Town Hall, to see if the rogue gets out ok, she will go there rather than just head back to the mansion. But if it would be too obvious she is watching the building, or not really practical, she will just go home. If she runs into any of the other 'party' in town, she will apathetically let them know where the rogue is.

I take it my bluff failed?

Putting on her best smile [Diplomacy (+1): 14 +1 = 15], Koal began to walk towards the three.

“Trade Day, you say. And when might that be? I have urgent business with the Clerk. Perhaps if a sign were posted on the door, invited guests to the township wouldn’t need to ‘hang around’ wasting their time.”

Addressing the young men approaching her, "My name is Koal, and I am a guest of Kendra Lorrimar. Are either of you handsome young men, employed at this establishment? [Diplomacy (+1): 19 +1 = 20] Perhaps you can help me, or point me in the direction of the Town Clerk."

'I hope your hearing this, Archeos' Koal though to herself.

Depending how the scenario plays out, Koal will just aim to find out when is Trade Day, and the name of the Clerk. Then she will just go home.

Just to clarify, we are breaking into the town hall, and not someone's house? Or are they they same thing?

Koal will follow Archeos around to the side house, and see if anyone is about. If there is someone, she will ask when the town hall opens. If no one at all is about, and Archeos is keen for a little B&E, her arm need not be twisted to tag along. She will also begin to detect magic around the area, specifically on any potential doors or windows that might be breached.

From the spell book, the only spells Koal will learn are sleep and true strike. Wizards begin with all level 0 spells, and she knows the other L1 spells already. It takes 2 hours per spell, and costs 10gp each. Decipher DC = 16 (15 + 1).

Spellcraft 1d20 +12. 14 + 12 = 26; 17 + 12 = 29 (both passed)
Total Time & Cost = 4hrs & 20gp

Two.

Party! What is your concensus for tackling the crypts to acquire anti-ghost tactical equipment? Koal is open a night incursion :)
She doesn't believe asking the priest will be of any benefit.

Three.

Harrowstone research. Koal will visit the town hall, library, and Pharasman priests, looking specifically the names of prisoners imprisoned at the time of the fire, and their crimes (but general info also). She will also have a look for information on the warden's wife, name and family etc (is there family still in the area). Koal is curious as to why the wife was there.

Researching in the professor's library. Koal will join Arches & Brethan.

Step 1. Protection from Ghosts: the necessary tools to defend against spirits are already here in Ravengro. I know that the church of Pharasma used to store them in a false crypt in the Restlands at the intersection between Eversleep and the Black Path

Step 2. I need a list of everyone who died the night of the fire. Everyone. The Temple of Pharasma must have such a list

Did we come across such a list in the dudes notes? If not, Koal will ask the daughter if the priests are approachable? Perhaps a visit is in order

Is there any clue why he was returning to a prison?

koal will just watch the fight unfold and re-evaluate if things turn nasty.
If anyone attacks her she will cast daze (DC 14 Will negates) and move away, if the fight is still in a 'passive' stage.
If the fight is to the death, she will start casting Force Missile (7/day)(Sp) (as per magic missile 1d4+1)
