We zip the PDFs, even single ones, because otherwise half the browsers out there will launch the Adobe Reader plug-in, and show the PDF in the browser window instead of downloading to a file on your drive. (There are HTTP headers we can add to the response that say, in effect, "No, really, download this and save it somewhere. But several versions of one very common browser ignore that header.

They get stuck in a folder called "PDFs" because some of our downloadable products also contain mp3 or other types of data files, which go into similarly named folders. It shouldn't do that for just a single file, and the folder should be named better if all the files in a download are all the same type, but I haven't had time to go over that code again.

I think Crown of the Kobold King may have had a human-readable filename because I may have processed that one manually. Conquest was handled by our importer code, and so you probably got a filename like "PZO9501E.pdf", which is its product code. Again, for a single-file download we certainly should be using the name of the product instead of its code.

The bad news is, I am completely swamped right now fixing bugs and doing a serious rewrite of our subscription handling code. The good news is, Pathfinder #1 is coming soon, and I'm going to have to rewrite our watermarker code so we can handle the onslaught of several thousand people personalizing and downloading it all at once. So I might have an opportunity to implement these fixes at that time.

Henceforth and forthwith, by Royal Decree, August 2nd will be known as "Gary Teter is the Man Day". All official Paizo calendars shall reflect this change.

His Royal Highness,
King of Paizovania

I win.

As proof of my win I wrote:
Now before anyone says anything in the difference of this idiocy I guess I will cut you off. If you had 1 ball (#358) in your hand and I told you had 2 more draws in the bowl of balls and you drew another (#359). I then take the bowl away and said "Okay, you're done". You would retort "I have another draw". You would be right and NO one would question it; however, I guess the people at Paizo Publishing see this kind of practice normal? I find it outrageous.

Still angry?

Why my good chap, El Skootro is certainly not angry. He is quite simply trying to follow your advice and make people lose in a rather annoying fashion. As a loyal subject of the realm, El Skootro only plays by the rules.

Hmm, I suppose we lose now, don't we?

His royal highness,
King of Paizovania

Dear Bizaro:

How can I convince my subjects that I am a good and benevolent ruler and not some pompous, out of date figurehead?

His royal highness,
King of Paizovania

Hear ye, hear ye. By royal decree:

Henceforth and Forthwith, this thread will only be composed of posts committed to pixels from the aliases of avatars. The only exception to this will be NAZIS describing their BOWLS full of BALLS. Any violators of this decree will be considered ENEMIES of the REALM.

His royal highness,
The King of Paizovania
