Dreamscarred Press handled it in a way that I think is really brilliant, they took the healer and gave it a mechanic that allows the class to heal the party, but also distribute spells to everyone and buff the party even with touch spells at a distance. All of this combined with the class makes a decent combatant making for a very solid healer that actually looks like a fun class to play as.

I've been reading on it some, not sure how I feel about the whole resonance thing though. It really just seems like a cure for a symptom rather than really addressing any fundamental issues. They brought it up as a way to "fix the cure light wand spam" when really the problem is that playing a healer is god-awful boring and nobody wants to play one. The only healer types that look engaging and capable of doing more than just heal is third party content.

Sure do, and a lot of the thinking I was doing was in relation to something you had said about the game with how it's sort of like a collaborative DM with all of us writing our own events and outcomes to them. I was originally planning on taking a few levels in monk because of the mechanical synergy it offers. But we aren't playing a strictly by the numbers game so it sort of makes it not really needed so much when I can just write how I want things to turn out most of the time. So! Cool stuff! Druids at level 7 get an upgrade to their animal companion so Strong Talon moves from medium to large size, and I can boost that to huge with a class feature and the enlarge person spell. A pretty nice gain!

Herk, there's a hero lab plugin for gestalt that you could play around with so you can see what it does. The short version of gestalt is that it lets you combine the best aspects of two classes, like for instance if you combine wizard and barbarian you get D12 HP dice, full BAB, and you keep the class abilities from both classes. It's a pretty good power boost, but I feel like we would need it if we are only a 3 man game.

That's unfortunate, so this brings up something that has been in the back of my mind in the event we did drop down to 3 people. Given your propensity to run very high difficulty settings I had thought about asking if the three of us could gestalt out characters. That way we could continue just the three of us and we could more adequately function in the manner a larger group could.
With all the new bloodlines that have come out since this was last updated what are the really solid choices for a Sorcerer focused on buffing/debuffing? Back in the thread from a few years ago someone said the author has not been seen in some time which is really sad because I would love to see this updated.
Words of power made part of the core! More effect words! =D Elemental affinity racial traits being more broad! Every single racial element affinity racial trait is ONLY for sorcerer? WHY!?? Make it work for all spell casting classes! More variety! Magic casting that deviates from the typical formula of Vancian and 3+mod per day! More archetypes that change the primary ability modifier. I really like playing Ninjas using wisdom instead of charisma, I personally like it more. Better rules for the automatic firearms from reign of winter. I know not everyone likes firearms in pathfinder, but this isn't a video game, a DM can simply say "no". Combat maneuvers that are viable from get go! No feat tax just to be usable! I think this is going to be implemented already? Rolled as acrobatics? Actual psionics! DreamScarred Press makes outstanding content where even a healer looks fun to play. Paizo should take note!
kellyR wrote: Psions have always worked like an even more flexible Sorcerer of course, but combining that with an utterly free form ability to reshuffle your powers list every day is maybe a *bit* much. Yet still they are limited by their power point pool. If they take nothing but a list of the top level powers they can choose they are seriously limiting the number of times they can manifest that day. Also, at level 10 they only know 6 powers, 11 at level 20. There's feats of course to take more but that trades away other options they have. I would really call it a stretch to say that is OP. kellyR wrote: So when I get up in the morning I manifest Share Pain 8 times, and I know take 1/8th of any damage I receive. Share pain is very specific in that it specifies "you and one willing creature", also, it has a built in specified range restriction where if you go beyond close range the effect ends. The rules of share pain are quite specific, so I say by the rule of thumb "specific trumps general" no way Jose. I would also say that stacking it 8 times is cheesier than a Kraft factory and all that you would accomplish doing it 8 times is switch who your chosen participant is and waste a bunch of PP.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but Throat Slicer reduces a coup de grace to a standard action.

This is beautiful and I would love to see a detailed build.
I think Throat Slicer might just make for a semi-competitive Shifter build. Seemingly VERY good against a single strong target. Just a preliminary build out, it's 6:00AM so this is not at all a complete thought... Human (+2 Dex) Bonus feat: Agile maneuvers Abilities: Max out dex Take Tiger form for the dex bonus on minor form, and the grab ability granted by major form. Trait: serpentine squeeze for +1 grapple CMB Feats:
Equipment:
Idea being get as much damage stacked on to a coup de grace as you can. Go for a grapple and pin, then coup de grace.
So some drawbacks that come to mind right away is that it takes 3 rounds to set up, being vulnerable while grappling moreso than Tetori, and vulnerable to freedom of movement... However, with this you will have a higher CMB to grapple than a Tetori monk being SAD and full BAB, potentially deliver an absolutely absurdly high DC save or die against fortitude. So against very strong single targets you can actually get a hold of this seems pretty good! Or, alternatively, grab them and rake them into ribbons? Not sure how the damage compares.

I don't know if you're aware, but when we set the campaign up Herk asked us to make a profile on the details page that essentially has the character sheet on it. For Example: Shadara's sheet
