There is a wealth of information out there in popular culture (the crimson pirate, pirates of the caribbean etc, etc) and indeed in the history books... how cool would it be to be rubbing shoulds with the likes of Henry Morgan, Francis Drake or Captain Kidd! i know these fellas appeared in a later age than most campaigns are set but i'm sure you get the idea.

if i remember correctly there are some generic deck plans in stormwrack that should be enough to get any DM's creative juices flowing.

I do agree though, a backdrop article would be a fantastic addition to the new AP, but for all we know there are some things like this already in the offing.

Roll on issue #137

Awww. I'm filled with an amazed sadness. We just started an aquatic Ebberon campaign a month or two ago. My PCs have been loving the AoW but I don't know if another soggy campaign will be a good idea. On the plus side I have learned to respect the ridiculous power of the servant horde spell on a ship.

Savage tide will be the first campain i have DM'd in a very long time. the guys i play with(and have done so with since secondary school) have been bugging me to get started so i said i would give the next AP a shot. Imagine my joy to read the James' editorial and discover that it has a nautical setting! my two favourite things combined - gaming and pirates! i grew up on the sid meyer's game and now i get to run one for myself! cant wait for october to get here so that i can get my teeth into it already.

P.S James, are there any plans to release any more info on Savage Tide prior to issue #139... a little something more to whet our insatiable appetites?
