Gin wrote: "Well, count me in as staying with you" Gin rest his hand on the hilt of his sword. Kelindra readies to draw her sword and stands with Gin and Pavel. She takes a flanking position if possible. She is also poised and ready to Bless her comrades.
Pavel wrote: Pavel glances between Kelindra and Gin, raising one eyebrow quizzically but refraining from comment.
"Hmm. Tell you what, you know the city better than me. We'll wait here for Branomonrik and Ivo. I assume you'll be looking in the watering holes by the docks, right? Look for him for thirty minutes then head back, all right? If he's too hung over to travel, we'll figure out what to do with him."
"Looks like I've made him uncomfortable," says Kelindra to Pavel. "You know I can speak before large crowds extolling the virtues of Corean and teach class after class on the holy scripture, but making friends has never come easy to me." She shrugs. "I'd better finish packing these saddle bags."
Pavel wrote:
"While we're on the subject: I left the war horses for Mithril's cavalry. They'll need them more then we will, I think. So keep in mind that these ladies and gents haven't been trained for battle. You may want to assume they'll panic before they really do and just dismount if we have to face some serious trouble."
Kelindra grins broadly. "I think that is wise." She turns to the horse and strokes it's muscular neck. "Try to be gentle with me good sir. I'll not annoy you if I can help it."
She quickly looks for Gin and winks when she catches his eye. As Kelindra adjusts her saddle bags, she feels a certain warmth at knowing she will be traveling with her new friends.
After saying her goodbyes to Brother Merling and spending a few moments in meditation and prayer, Kelindra joins the others at the gate.
"I'm not much good with a horse," she says to Pavel. "Perhaps you can give me some pointers?"
OOC: Kelindra is ready to leave any time. David, was there enough time in prayer for her to get her spells back?
Kelindra releases the breath she had been holding since they met the little kobald. If she had more time to think about it, she would have wondered why just last week, she would have killed the creature before asking a single question and now she was overwhelmed with relief that he was safe with Barconius.
"Sir, with all due respect, I must discuss my next course of action with Brother Merling. But, if I am allowed my choice, I go wherever Pavel and Gin go, if they will have my company."
Gal wrote: (Assuming the fight is over? If not please ignore this)
As the quick yet brutal fight reaches it's gory end, Gal, seeing his grievously wounded companion Soll fall, reverts to half-elf from and transfers the energy form one of his spells into healing energy. All Allies within 30' will gain 1hp/round for 3 rounds. Even Branamorik ;-) As this is the extent of his healing abilities at the moment though he looks to Kelindra for more aid growling "Girl, they need your help, and fast! Is there ought you can do?"
Seeing that he's right, Kelindra will channel positive energy as soon as she is done talking to Pavel. [I'm out of healing spells proper, but I assume the 1 hp/round for 3 rounds is the channeling of energy? Sorry, I still don't have the Beta rules down pat yet.]

Either way, Gal distributes the loot among whomever is willing to help carry it.
Kelindra will be happy to help.
Kelindra gently rests a hand on Pavel's arm. "You're right, he did help us." She pauses as if for the first time considering that the little creature has thoughts and feelings. "But we need more of a plan than just sneaking him into the City and turning him loose. Even if he's harmless, he'll be killed in a few seconds as soon as someone sees through his disguise."

Pavel wrote: Pavel speaks quietly to Branomonrik and Kelindra, assuming they're near.
"I'm sure they're plenty scared, but we can't be too sure they won't lead us into an ambush or just scamper off and stab us in the back later. Do you have any of those light spells? Maybe when Gal brings the weapons back, you could make 'em glow so we can keep track of 'em simple like, yeah?"
Kelindra frowns. She's not at all happy about following these titanspawn. Still, Pavel seems to think they should at least try and she has already come to respect him and his judgement. Still, she manages to exchange a sympathetic glance with Gin.
"I have no ability to cast light. But I can create water out of nothing so let me know when you're thirsty." Kelindra shakes her head and mentally chastises herself. She reminds herself not to try telling jokes remembering that her sense of humor is somewhat lacking.
"Your idea is a good one though," she says to Pavel. She turns to the necromancer and says, "You've shown us more than one clever bit of magic so far. Can you create light?"
Branomonrik Assia wrote: Branomonrik looks at gal in puzzlement " Yet you condemn them to death. My scout is beyond life his destruction means nothing. Those have life yet you use them like puppets as I do my scout.'
He gives a cold smile to Gal " Now what is more evil, using the dead so the living my be spared, or forcing living creatures to go into danger and death to keep you safe? How very enlighted of you"
He looks to the departing rats " In any case the deaths you cause will solve my replacement problem" He pats his pouch and moves off toward the rest of the group his staff clicking on the stone as he walks.
Kelindra scratched her head. The strange necromancer certainly has a point. "Gentlemen, could we, perhaps, save the philosophical debate for later?"
She looks at Pavel and shrugs. "Stealth isn't my forte. I'm ready whenever the rest of you are. Send me in front if you wish."
Gin wrote: "What do you think about this, Kelindra? I mean what is something like doing here? Are those people going be okay? Is what happened to those last hostages going to happen to them...us?" Gin asks in an obviously depressed, and paniced tone. Kelindra grasps Gin's hand and squeezes. She allows him a moment to take a deep breath. "I don't know, and I'm afraid too. But we're going to watch each others' backs and get through this together. This abomination may be an artifact of the Ancients, or some sinister magic of the titanspawn. Now that we have a glimpse of its power, we can be more on our guard. We're going to get to the bottom of this evil and we're going to stop it...together."
Pavel wrote:
"Thanks, but I got lucky; not a scratch." He taps a finger to his crooked, oft-broken nose. "Or at least, no new ones. I found some tracks we might should follow, if you're up for it once the prisoners are square. You think you and Gin need someone to watch your back or should I stay here and keep an eye?"
"I think it may be best if you stand guard here. Gin and I wont be gone long and the necromancer says the way is clear...not sure how he knows that, but he seems competent enough." Kelindra gives an involuntary shudder. She then follows Gin to help the rescued prisoners get to the safekeeping of the outside guards.
Kelindra's top priority is the survivors.
Kelindra approaches Pavel and lightly rests a hand on his shoulder. "I must see to it that the prisoners get to safety, but...are you injured?"
Kelindra feels the opposite of warm and fuzzy.
She says, "Long before Mithral was built, this area belonged to the Ancients. This could be a dark and powerful artifact left from their time." She starts to say more but thinks better of it. Now is not the time for a history lesson.
"Who is wounded?"
Kelindra grabs Gin's shoulder and pulls him aside. She steps between him and the abomination. She lunges at the beast with her longsword.
Attack [1d20+1] = 15
Damage [1d8+1] = 8
At Kelindra's next opportunity, she will use her second 1st level spell as a cure light wounds spell for Gin.
CLW = [1d8+1] = 6
Kelindra leaps to Gin's side. She says a prayer over him.
Gin - you are blessed. +1 to hit and +1 to saving throws.
Perception check (1d20+3 = 7)
Kelindra is focused on freeing and helping the prisoners. She uses her "stabilize" power to stop blood loss. As she tends to the wounded, she asks gently, "how did you get here? Are you from Mithril?"
Kelindra, obviously distracted by the strange, pulsating pillar, keeps missing her attacks.
Knowledge Religion: [1d20+5] = 17+5 = 22
Kelindra shrinks back from the onslaught and grimaces in pain. She raises her hand to her shoulder and it comes away with a smear of blood. She sees that the big half orc is also bleeding. She holds up her longsword to parry another blow and swings at the closest creature.
Initiative [1d20+2] = 11
Attach [1d20+1] = 5
Damage [1d8*1] = 8
Charging in, going after one of the little buggers, don't care which:
Initiative: 1d20+2 [13,2] = (15)
To Hit: 1d20 = (4)
Damage (as if there's a point): 1d8+1 [3,1] = (4)
Kelindra keeps a close eye on Pavel. Her longsword is already drawn. She prepares to cast Bless at the first sign of battle. Knowing that she is far from stealthy, she keeps her movement to an absolute minimum.
Kelindra sighs. She is obviously being tested by Corean. She can't imagine why the half-orc wishes to join them and what it was he was saying about treasure. And the necromancer....well, Corean works in mysterious ways.
"I will guard our rear unless you wish me to be in front," says Kelindra. "If we are in combat and you need healing, shout for me."
Kelindra grips her longsword and follows the others.
Kelindra's breath caught in her throat as she looked at Pavel. She was unaccustomed to this response and had disciplined herself not to be tempted by the opposite sex. Yet he seemed so confident and yet so humble...and so handsome. She shook her head and mastered her emotions. She was not some child, overcome with puppy-love.
"I am Kelindra, servant of Corean. It is my pleasure to serve."
Kelindra says farewell to Brother Merling and races upstairs to quickly collect her belongings. With a last, quick inventory of her backpack and a double-check to make sure her father's long sword is fastened securely around her waist, she heads to Mithral Keep.
Kelindra walks through the stone and marble halls of the Church of Corean. She approaches an oak door and taps softly. When beckoned to enter, she quietly enters her mentor's office. She speaks softly from habit as Brother Merling is often to be found in the library.
"Brother," she starts, "there is a call for those to fight evil and darkness beneath the city. I wish to lend my sword. Is it pride compelling me? or duty? I would have your counsel before I leave."
