I was counting his, Ayish triggered an AoO :), she might not reach celena

It was the bug thing Ayish, 4 hp will put celena back at 2 hp..oh and yes DR does tend to have that effect.

Fathom sees nothing along the rolling surf.

Indeed, you attack your attacker

Ayish moves to heal Celena, leaving herself open to the demon, who bites the bard. 15 hp, N'Djamerna heals everyone once more As Vrealk moves to flank with Celena, he strikes at the beast, but the thing is to fast.

Kelden also misses as the thing moves out of the way, Larrs bites and claws the thing as Markhet hangs on for dear life. Celena , still confused hammers the demon hard.

Round 8
The Demon tears into celena, bite, claw, and tail. The Gnome falls

* xulthos = 25[went]

* N'Djamena = 20
* Vrealk = 15
* Kalden= 15
* Markhet/Air Elemental = 12
* Larrs = 19
* Celena = 4 [at -2]

The map

The sky is overcast, but it is the sky you see. A beach sits at the end of the stairs, a beach which leads to what seems to be a cliff side road of some sort. Besides the road, if that is what it is, you see no other way to go, except scale the cliff you are now below.

Finn

Spoiler:
You see some type of movement beneath the water, close to the beach

Kelden I gave you what info your rolls would grant you in the last update.

Ayish lets off another set of missiles, which barrel into the Demon as N'Djamerna calls upon his gods might to send forth a healing wave. Vrealk fires off two arrows, both seem to hit but only one seems to even hurt the beast.

Kelden enlarges himself and pull out a scroll as, Markhets Elemental try and Attack the demon. Larrs attacks, hitting with his claws and Markhet holds on for dear life as the lion rakes the demon.

Celena still looking confused Smashes her Hammer into the demon, it roars in pain.

celena

Spoiler:
[ No you do not gain AoO's for that

Round 7

The beast is no longer playing around and it focuses on Celena, hitting her with a bite and two claws 32 hp

Humm why would anyone suspect me of trying to kill off the crew? I simply do not know what you are talking about.

Ardanto goes with the crew to the other room as most of the Falcons stay and look about the room.

Daurros

Spoiler:
It looks to you as if the doors opened inward, the construction is unknown to you, but it does look as if the Pedestals work as some kind of leaver used to open the doors.

Fathom

Spoiler:
The scrip while looking somewhat elvish is not elvish, you think maybe it is talking about the sea but you are unsure

Karkalla does find a way to unlock the pedestals, or one of them at lest. it takes Finn and Guards help to move it, ever so slowly And one of the doors starts to slowly open, it does not open all the way, but does open enough for you to pass within single file.

The sent of the sea drifts into the room from the open door. You see seaweed covered stairs descending from the doorway.

Ok Hp are now correct. On the rack, a cat rakes with its back legs, by curling up. This is not an issue as cats rarely have riders,I'll allow it but your gonna need to make a ride check to hang on and not get crushed as he does so

Ugh did not update Larrs HP's {makes not to double check everyone's HP's}. Yeah I just forgot to mark number 2 on the map. Also gonna point out the rake would be really hard to pull off with a rider

Celena

Spoiler:
I will allow you to spend a hero point to make another save. I think ya guys forgot ya have em :)

Well Vrealk or Ayish have not posted so I will act for them

Seeing she is unable to hit the monster, Ayish steps back and unleashes twin arcane bolts that slam into the Demon. N'Djamerna reaches forward to heal Celena.

Vrealk Fires another arrow, but it goes well wide of the beast as kalden lets loose another ray of fire, it hits the demon, but seems to have little real effect.

Markhets Elemental pound the beast, he ignore them as Larrs charges in, trying to avoid the Demons tail, with no luck. The barbed tail cuts deep into the lion 13 hp as the lions teeth find the demons flesh.

Celena confused by N'Djamerna's touch strikes out at him, but the cleric moves from her blade.

Round 6,

Now on the ground the demon swings into terrible action. It sidesteps then bites into Larrs 11 hp dropping the lion, racks Kelden with two of its claws 19 hp And strikes at N'Djamerna with its tail 12 hp

I would like to point out, you guys DO have hero points left

Kelden

Spoiler:
You have no idea

Amella nods We'l be staying en th' othor room " she says as she leads the crew to the larger room with the stagnate water.

The doors seem to be truly massive and thick, made of what seems to be iron.

No, sorry should have posted that, it seemed to do no harm at all

Yeah you were clear, I goofed on the round number. That was my fault. Also Kelden you are threatened this round, it has reach

Just to save a little time here

The second set of smaller doors when opened lead back into the catacombs Where ya was the first time

I don't mind reconning, I was just pointing out I did not know ya was doing that :)

Ayish moves forward to strike at the Demon, but fails to land a blow as N'Djamerna casts a spell, Vrelk lets another arrow fly with no more luck then Ayish. Kelden sends fire reaching for the demon, but it manages to swing out of the way.

Markhet starts to summon as her elemental attacks again. Larrs moves over to protect the Gnome as Celena starts to cut herself again.

Round 5
The demon has had enough of Markhets help, it snaps at the Elemental then lands upon the floor. It seems it is done playing hit and run.

Well no, not if your only glancing about, but keep in mind it will only show items that are in clear view.

you know that is gonna make for some very slow going right? Anyhow given time ya do not see anything here

Well ya did not say ya was using that option or make the roll, so I assumed you did not. And yes the el would normally gain the AoO, however I rolled really, really well to avoid said AoO. Also I tend to roll AoO's once triggered as it keeps the game flowing

As you force the door open light spills into the room beyond. A set of doors like you just came though sit opposite of the one you just came though,on the southside of the room stands two massive iron door. These doors are decorated in elvish like symbols and depictions of sealife in tarnished copper.opposite the doors sit a pair of pedestals with an odd notch in the side of each. One of these pedestals is made from a dusky red granite, the other crafted from a light blue marble.

Finn

Spoiler:
You see nothing like that, however this room does lack the dust and time accumulated buildup seen in the tombs

Moving on, yes the fascinate would have ended, sorry for not pointing that out. Ayish you do not have to keep making the rolls, you make skill rolls if you are counter songing, which allows the two that failed to reroll. The beast is 15' in the air

Ayish, keeps her singing up and moves out of the front rangechange your actions a wee bit there N'Djamerna's spell is cast, but seem to have no effect upon the monster.

Vrealk with the aid of ayishs song fights off the thing clouding his mind and lets an arrow fly, which digs into the beast, Kalden and Larrs shack off the effect, Kelden readies his weapon as Markhet summons an Elemental which attacks the demon and runs over to Ayish it is a move action to dismount Celena meanwhile babbles about goats and purple cheese.

Round 4
The demon Ignores the Elemetal, swooping around it and around the pillars it's tail whips out at Vrealk, but the Goblin ducks as it flies by.

Back it is then Finn leads the group back out of the tombs and across the bridge, Flies have started to blow on the unburied bodies of the fallen and the crew makes a few signs as you pass, along with a bit of grumbling at not having seen to the bodies.

Amelia has the crew wrap them and says a few words for giving them to the darkness below the bridge, before you move on. After forcing your way into the second set of doors which lead into another massive room.

One corner of this room has crumbled reveling a stagnate pool of water in that area of the room. Another massive set of doors is set into the wall nearest the doors you came though.

Ok how countersong works is you make a skill check, everyone effected by the droning{vrelk and celena] gets another save Evey round you keep counter songing and can you your roll as theirs if your skill roll was higher.

Ayish lifts her voice in song, trying to counter the mind effecting sound 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 as N'djamerna starts to cast a spell, Vrealk with the aid of Ayishes counter song tries to fight off the magic effecting him, but is unable to do so and still babbles.

As Kelden stands looking at the patterns of light, Markhet herself starts to cast a spell as celena starts cutting herself.

Seeing his spells not effecting anyone else and with Ayish trying to counter his magic "Kardswann" drops the Vail that hides his true form. A nightmare hovers before you in the cave, a large insect like monster with claws a multi-eyed face, near transparent wings and serpentine like and bladed tail. Light acing across it in hypnotic patterns as it moves in for the kill.

It flies at Ayish in a large "U" pattern, slashing at her with its tail 10 hp before flying to the other side of the room

Sorry if I was not clear, you do not have to go back, there is more tunnel past the hidden door, but you can go back if you like

what is she doing? command? countersong?

Nope ya do not get to make another save.N'Djamena ya need to pick an area or object to center it on before ya can finish the spell.

Ayish is not effected by the shifting patterns or the droning sound and steps in front of Kalden while she pleads with Kandswann to rethink his ways, with little seeming effect. N'Djamerna also is unaffected by the droning and infuses Celena with bull like strength.

Vrealk stands there "The sky is not fire and green sings to the yellow, rabbits are good is mountings are purple camels.' He says. Keldren starts to cast a spell, but is fascinated by the shimmering colors and patterns that have appeared in the chamber. Markhet casts a spell upon larrs and urges him to battle, but the lion is also mesmerized by the shifting colors.

Celena herself stands there as well " I have seen the stars dance with the moon as the bird sing red soup and cheese'

Round 2

The door does not seem trapped, it is well hidden and caked with dirt and dust of ages.

It is indeed 2 saves at 18 and 15. However the 2nd save is only for those I listed in the OOC comment above, I'll wait for Ayish before I update.

At the end of the catacomb you come to a set of massive doors embossed with the symbol of Sarenrae, the door has however has been defaced. Checking the door for traps reviles nothing and with a little effort the door swings open.

This chamber however is a stark contrast to the rest of the tomb for this chamber is a vast unworked chamber. The air is cold, damp and moist, withering roots hang from the ceiling twenty feet above. puddles of reeking fluid dot the floor and at the far end of the chamber a jagged upthrust of stone raises into a uneven platform.

Sitting king like on a outcropping of rock is Kardswann the Gen chuckles as you enter and speaks with a raspy inhuman voice, nothing like the one he or the other kardswann used before.

"Many years I have been trapped here by the wards placed by your packmasters. For decades I have endured the whispering sprites of the wholesome dead, cursing my captors, hating a world I could no longer corrupt. When the Templar came here eight weeks past he walked though the wall. The seal remained intact. But you" He says with a low inhuman chuckle "You have broken the seal and at last my captivity is at an end' He says standing ' But before I go I will kill you, one by one until the last begs to be my slave. I wonder which one it shall be?"

N'djamerna,kelden, ayish and vrelk

Spoiler:
You see a 40x40 foot room with two rows of colluem and a set of stairs on which sets a throne. Kardswann sits in this throne

Round 1 Fight!

A horrible droning sound comes from Kardswann, invading your thoughts and hammering into your mind. DC 18 will save as he steps down the steps and chants in a droning manner Vrealk, kelden,Larrs Markhet and celena another Dc 15 will save

Round 1 map

The combined efforts of Celna, Ayish, Market and Larrs tears the last undead thing apart. Silence fills the catacomb. Well except for Vrealk and Kelden trying to get out. In time that fear to passes.

The crew seems unsettled and Amella looks a bit rattled herself. "ye Plan ta' be standing in tis ol' all day?" She says, sounding non to calm

Ayish moves forward and hits the lead undead with her spell, causes flesh to drop away as Vrealk screams, drops his bows and runs straight at the group in terror. The undead thing swipes at the fleeing goblin, but he is a blur as he runs between Ayishes legs leaps over Celena, rolls under larrs and crawls behind N'Djamerna, trying to fit though the bars.

kelden himself, stricken with terror, drops his axe , runs to the bars and tries to lift them to escape. Markets fire catches the lead undead, it falls to the ground burning as Celena charges forward.

Round 5

The downed undead raises, allowing Celena to finish it off as the last remaining undead swings at the Gnome, but the armored Gnomes armor is to good.

She did not, but there was also two bridges with two sets of doors as well

Ayishes spell hits the undead, causing rotting flesh to fall from its bone as Vrealk still unseen fires at the oncoming undead with no luck. Kelden, still in the undeads grip does no better as he swings well wide of his foe.Markets fire also goes wide as Celena's hammer smashes into the beast, causing to it fall to the ground, letting go of Kelden as it falls.

N'Djamerna

Spoiler:
They may be a creature called coffer corpses, they seem to have the same "false death" as the best you are thinking of. A death that triggers fear when the monster stands again.

Round 4

The two new undead move ever closer as the "dead" one again raises. Kelden brings his axe down, splitting the thing in twine, but fear once more grips you

Another save, and yes it is fear based. Map is the same except the two new guys are 30' closer now.

You wonder though the maze like tunnels with little trouble, although the crew are at ill ease as the light of the torches daces across the grim walls and inhabitants of the niches.

Daurros's magic seems to not find anything much, but here and there you do see a corpse with a golden necklace, most likely someone of high standing in life. Those do not show as magic, but to your magical sight they are not ...right either.

Finn

Spoiler:
Finn, you do notice after a while what looks to be a hidden passage way inside one of the niches

Ugh I screwed up on Vrealk, I did not see the word arrow...sigh, but he missed anyhow.

Ayish moves to the back of the line as Vrealk fires once more at the undead, still unable to hit. Kelden swings as well in the confining spaces, but hits the wall more then the undead.

Larrs is still unable to get into the action but Markets hurled fire hits one in the face and the thing drops unmoving to the ground face aflame. N'Djamerna calls upon Nethys to bless the group as Celena drops the scimitar, pulls her hammer and swings at the still standing undead, but she has no more luck the Kelden.

round 3

Two more of the undead come staggering down the corridor behind Vrealk, as the last standing one attacks kelden, grabbing him by the throat 8hp,can't cast spells if ya need to talk as the other rises from the ground once moreDC 13 will save everyone both Kelden and Celena do manage to hit the thing as it stands, slices it into parts and it drops to the floor once more.

You did not get it that time, but with enough ties and a few more bodies you will...so........

The massive doors at last give way with a crack and a deep gowning sound, spilling you light into the corridor beyond. The corridor is thick with a musty smell, deep niches line the walls , each holding a slender skeleton caked in mold and fungi. Rusted metal collars and iron necklaces lay near the skeletons and the ruined remains of what seems to be burial shrouds rest with in as well.

In places where the niches do not fill the winding corridor, mural of slender skeleton, hounds covered in coiling snakes cover the walls.

This places is not straight but kinds winds around in a maze like fashion.

Ayish tries to attack the oncoming dead but her aim is knocked off as Kelden rushes past to swing at the monster, but he also misses in his haste. Vrealk moves behind the undead, still unnoticed had to double move to get 40'

Markhet locked out of the action, produces flame Can't attack with it this round as ya only have 1 standard action N'Djamerna casts a bit of guidance upon Celena as she slices into the undead, seeming to barely damage it.

Round 2
The second undead moves up and grabs at celena but is unable to grab the Gnome. The first tries the same on Kelden, with no better luck.

The doors do not seem trapped, however time has not been kind to them and they seem stuck together with sediment and fungi from the damp air.

DC 28 str check to open

The doors do not seem to be magic. These massive double doors are stone and carved in the same way as the first room with that almost but not quite elvish like script.

As Vrealk pads soundlessly down the tunnel, something stirs within the niches, something drawn not by sound but the presence of the living in tunnels long forsaken by such.

Behind vrealk two corpses stumble from the niches, dressed in tattered rages of priests they slowly raise an look around with eyes of burning light and walk silently toward the group as Vrealk stays unseen at the edge of a niche

I had forgotten the stone.

The rock floats down the catacomes out of range of the spell and falls. There seem to be niches carved into the walls like above, it is hard to tell for most of you but Vrealk says it turns left about a 100 or so feet down[30 meters).

With N'Djamena's help Kelden hold the portcullis open as the others pass under.

Now what?

Who has a light? Well Celena ya could grab on with one hand, start to slide down and leave the sheild on the lip, or let it fall to below.

You find yourself in a small cramped catacomb barely 10 feet wide. A rusted portcullis blocks the way, you can see what looks to be more catacombs past it.

The crew is FIne, if un nerved, Avner seems rather put out with his Horses death and his brush with the monster. Amella, gives you an "I told you so look" While bringing some order to the crew with harsh barks "No mor o' ye slacking! Kep n' eye oot! Velous,Vash,Jander ye guard th' rear. Cap'n I recakon yer lot might be taking point."

The water below is fast moving, no one can see it really as it is more then 80 feet (24 meters) below you in total darkness. You do not really know how wide the water flow is or how deep.

There was a chance it would get avner, bigger chance it would get thunderstrike. Poor Zago was just unlucky. Oh and yes its touch ac is that low.

round 3

Daurros hits the beast with his wand's magic weakling the beast a small bit. Toxim sends twin rays of fire burning into the centipede, it roars and gives off a burning smell.Fathom steps forward slightly, bringing the spears reach into play and stabs the Centipede as well.

Round 4

Daurros again weakens the beast with his wand as Karkalla stabs at it with her blade, but is unable to penetrate its hide. Most of the crew scatter before the beast. Thunderstrike in a panic bolts and the centipede strikes wrapping several of its legs around the horse the noble stallion dies an horrific death as the mandibles rip into its chest. Avner lets out a scream as his beloved mount is eviscerated.

Ardanto takes advantage of the horses death to rush forward and bury his blade into the beast. Toxim jopins him as thier twin blades finish off the monster, as its life flows from its body so does its grip on the bridge and the last of the centipedes falls into the darken water far below. Taking with it Thunderstrike and all the supplies he carried.

So you guys checking the well out? And if so how do you plan to do so.The bottom of the well is now 60 feet( 18 meters) below where it was.

I have no issue with that, closest to you is the one attacking Toxim

Finn goes on a reckless attack, stabbing the Centipede attacking Toxim, not only inflecting what looks to be fatal wounds but with inhuman effort driving it off the bridge, where it plummets into the water below.

1 left, poor ,poor centipede

The only thing Vrealk learns is the cask can not be open without breaking it.

Whats the plan?
