Wendell.

What? Not awe-inspiring enough...? ;D

I should name it Shadow Pelt and have it bite a sensitive area... But at least I won't name it Guen! ;)

Actually...

The panther ignores Aanada's kick(which passes right through it), and moves over to heckle Tamrin.

It needs a name. Hm, what would be a good name for the shadowy feline? :p

Wrapped up in the banner, Keaton struggles for a moment to free himself. Kannic's dagger glances of his neck, not even leaving a scratch, and Tamrin's shot hits with less effect than it should have.

DR5/silver and magic, electricity resistance 10.

Ripping out of the banner, Keaton's grins as the runes enscribed on his flesh begin to grow. A thin mist begins to emanate from them...

Spell-Like Ability: Kelgore's Grave Mist. 20ft high and wide, causes fatigue and a 1d6 of cold damge to every living creature in the mist, no save throw, SR to ignore the fatigue. The mist is too thin to hamper vision. Since Kannic threw a dagger, he should be in the mist.

1d6 ⇒ 5

Within the mist, a shadowy form begins to appear. A lithe panther roars silently as it moves to distract Kannic.

Hexblade Variant Ability: Dark Companion. You automatically know it is an illusion. It bestows a -2 to your AC and saves while it is next to you. It can be dispelled.

Keaton says a word in the Dark Speech, and though the mist vanishes, nothing else seems to have happened. He stands there and keeps grinning.

Runs out of house, clearing path through the zombies, and signals for Tarren to run for it.

Saint Monna's Day?

*Unlocks doors and opens windows*

White hot fire surges toward Keaton, and seems to hit him directly. He drops to the ground, abandoning the now melting stone. He stands up, and you realize he isn't on fire, but his armor is. A huge mual appears in his hands, cloaked in shadows and emanating evil.

"They're my memories, I can use them however I want. Hit me with all you have, I won't fall."

As both Ryo's Card and Kannic advance on him, Keaton leaps back and lands on one of the pillars, a beam of dark energy lancing at The Guardian.

"I remember when I first saw that warrior. He saved me when we saw the Ivory Disk. Do you remember that night Ryo, the reason why I am like this now? Perhaps a little show to refresh your memory?"

He claps his hand on the pillar, and between each pillar an image appears. Most show a younger Ryo playing with Keaton. But in one, Ryo can be seen from a doorway holding a card. Suddenly, fire leaps from the card and lights all the candles used for divinations in the room. Ryo turns, a look of shock and awe on his face. He draws another card and colors swirl in the room as a phantom wind surges throught the room. Now they are out in the open, strange plants surrond them and seem to reach for the pure white disk above, which is itslef surronded by tiny gemstone-like lights.

Tamrin knows that the illusion shows the night sky.

Kannic waits patiently through the dance, trying to stay within 30' of Keaton and switching back to his crossbow. Hopefully the opportunity for a sneak attack presents itself, with penetrating shot.

1d20+14
+2 magic, If successful, ignore up to DR5, unless untyped 1d10+2 + 5d6

As Kannic materializes he draws forth a rod, whose head expands into a flaming greataxe

Shot and a miss!

Somehow dodging the bolt, Keaton grins.
"Ah, so my brother had a friend in hiding? Things are getting interesting.

As the table crashes into him, Keaton stumbles forward.

"Well, that wasn't very nice was it?"

He reaches for his face, and at first it seems like he's going to pull his face off, but instead a mask comes off in his hands. His flesh becomes gray-blue, runes appear on his skin, and his eyes flash to black.

"And I was trying to settle this without killing you. Oh well."

1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

He flings his cloak open wide, and swarms of shadow fly out, attacking those who would wish their master harm.

Near the drinks Keaton calls out.

"Do you want anything before we start debating my right to exist?"

*waits for nightfall, turns into a bat flies in through open window on second floor.*

"Oh well, enjoy the party while it lasts. No cards Big Brother, we wouldn't that secret getting out, would we?

He moves to the dance floor, finding a woman to dance with.

Hooray! The nuclear strike I called over a week ago finally arrived. Must have gone by Pony Express...

No wonder it didn't arrive sooner! You actually let Sebastion deliver it.

There is no Tarren, only ZUUL!

Oh, and uh...

Blooooood...

He moves to walk past Ryo, then turns toward Aananda and gestures to the dance floor.

"Would the beautiful mechanic care to dance?"

DC 20 or be dominated as per the spell. Might as well try these vampire powers while I can.

Kannic Orefinder wrote:

Three. He said three. Perhaps I can get a stake thru this creature's defenses? Kannic quietly switches to one of the stakes Aananda 'created'. He scans for threats as he readies.

Detect Magic

There is magic. A bit too, if the aura is anything to go by. Illusion, Necromancy, and what you would normally find on armor, with a bit of Evocation mixed in.

Cardcaster Ryo wrote:

Looking around, Ryo's eyes cloud as he scans the crowd. He seems puzzled.

"They're all alive, I can't find the vampire anywhere."

A pleasant voice floats from behind them.

"Have you tried looking behind you?"

Ryo spins and aims an fist at his brother's face, but Keaton catches it easily.

"Now, now. The party will end in one hour, we can settle any imaginary dispute you have with me then. Until that time however, why don't you and your friends stay and enjoy the festivities? The hostess will be sad if she sees three of her guests are unhappy."

He moves to walk past Ryo, then turns toward Aananda and gestures to the dance floor.

"Would the beautiful mechanic care to dance?"

Keaton's Stat block is in his profile. Just a set of guidelines, of course...

Does anyone else think I might be pushing my luck a little? :D

Ya think? If you were a brain sucker you'd be starving after that non-meal. ;P

Who said anything about eating it? Are you forgetting that it was a [i]kobold!?[i]

MWAHAHAHA!

"Pleased to meet you too. And if you ever need something fixed, you know where to find me," she said cheerfully. "Speaking of which, I need to get back to fixing this skimmer. See you around." She waved and went back to work.

"Sorry to distract you from your. Until next time then."

He turns and leaves the repair shop, passing Tamrin as he leaves. Tamrin catches a slightly malevolent grin asKeaton walks by, but when Tamrin turns, he is gone...

Hello you walking blood-bags, I look forward to draining you of your hemoglobin and plasma soon. Or blood for those of you who don't know those words.
Blood. So messy. Poison is so much more...polite.

And a decent spice. Goes well with adreneline and fear laced blood...

She smiles and pushes a stray lock of hair out of her face, leaving a grease smudge on her cheek.

"Yeah, I just started here yesterday. I'm Aananda. Is there something I can do for you?"
She searches her memory as she talks to him, trying to figure out if she'd met him before.

"Not really, I just saw a new face and thought I'd say hi. Oh, you have some grease on, well, nevermind, I guess as a mechanic you get grease all over, huh?"

"My name is Keaton, glad to meet you."
