Background:
Karozekas Gostern is a tall and lean elf with copper colored hair, fairly typical for an elf. He was born and raised in Kyonin. Karozekas was different from other elves early on in his life. He was more serious and driven than his brethern, taken to study or training while his friends cavorted and capered in the woods. His parents discouraged this behavior, but to no avail. When it came time for his education Karozekas was drawn to all variety of subjects. He always had a passion for history and ancient cultures. He excelled at both the arcane and martial disciplines. When it came time to choose, he refused, choosing to marry the two disciplines, once again to the consternation of his parents and teachers. While still in his youth, Karozekas took a trip to Greengold, the human settlement on the edge of Kyonin. He was astonished and intrigued by the people he met, they had such energy and zeal for life. He made several subsequent trips to the settlement, once again to the displeasure of his family. When Karozekas came of age, he made a decision that all knew was inevitable, he packed his belongings, bade his family goodbye, and left Kyonin, never looking back.

Karozekas wandered for a couple years, exploring ruins, studying in libraries, and training with whomever he could. The elf made his way through Druma, Molthune, and Nirmanthas, where he met up with a band of adventurers. He soon fell in with the group,exploring ruins around Lake Encarthan before the band made their way to Varisia. Karozekas had found his calling, thriving on the excitement of exploration and discovery. The band of adventurers, naming themselves the Grinning Troll Adventuring Band, explored and plundered many a tomb and ancient ruin.
Karozekas was happier than he had ever been, fighting monsters, wielding sword and spell, and unearthing treasure and knowledge to further his studies. Alas that all ended six months ago when the entire adventuring group except Karozekas was slaughtered by a ghost, upon breaching a tomb entrance. The elf would have been killed too had he not lagged behind the party studying some ancient Thassilonian runes inscribed on the outer tomb wall. Karozekas attempted to explore on his own for a while until narrowly surviving a trap he accidentally triggered. The beaten and battered elf made his way to Magnimar to heal his wounds and gather his wits. He has spent the last six months in the city, training and studying. He spends most of his the days in the libraries and museums, occasionally hiding off in some corner to spend the night to save what little coin he has left. He has been looking to join or form another adventuring band, but has not had any luck, the candidates being either too unexperienced or too unstable for his taste. At this point his is beginning to get desperate and has considered find work at the Golemworks, which intrigues him, but the thrill of adventure is calling him back out into the wilds. He hopes to find a group soon and has been prowling the Summit district by day and the Shore and Shadow districts by night looking for what he might call salvation.
