Goose adds a bit to the ongoing convincing of the governor.

"Right. To add further, we found drychens that had been augmented with a mindlink circlet that was allowing something to communicate with and control the creatures. This is highly unusual since this by itself wouldn’t function on non-sentient creatures." begins the operative as he shows the governor the hardware found in the creatures after subduing them. He supplements it with his database on Life Sciences and Xenobiology, explaining the nuances and the issues.

"In addition, this is not Akiton. I should know. I lived there for decades. Here is Akiton now." offers Goose as he scrolls through some updated video footage of modern-day Akiton. He includes some selfies and family shots of his upbringing on the planet and his time as a freighter pilot.

"Furthermore, you are not on a planet, per se. This is something else entirely." explains Goose. He splices together video footage of their approach, their entry and finally their entry into this vault."[/b] Goose shows the governor a quick video montage.

"We know you are all real. We know you have been attacked by some entity, this Vault Lord. We are not discounting this at all. We just want to help you understand where you are and how we can help you."

Goose engages with Quina as Quirk heads into the hydroponics facility.

"Hoi Quina. I am a bit peckish. Would you care to escort me to the cantina? My treat." offers the ysoki.

"It's been a long day and me and my team are just trying to get the lay of the land. I would very much appreciate a guide." continues Goose, trying to be disarming.

"Any idea on what to expect? The garrison is in quite the flurry of activity. Oh, and where are all the other ysoki? Are they all confined here to the encampment?"

Goose continues to ask more information as permitted by Quina, although continuing to be tentative and not direct. Are the ysoki free to come and go? Who is the enemy expected later? What else goes on in the camp? Is there a resistance?

Goose also looks for telltale electronics such as inhibitors or slave collars or something like that. He has several kits in his possession that could scan with, pulling them out and cleaning them while talking.

Coming into the room is a male vesk carrying a gym bag emblazoned with a logo. He is just a bit shorter than you compare him to the rest of his kin but makes up for that different in well honed muscle.

Using a bad Schwarzenegger, he bellows "I'll pump, you up!", after which he takes several selfies using different poses.

As everyone stares in disbelief at the bad acting and gratuitous picking on poor Ivok, the hologram and other magics disperse, revealing a tiny ysoki with mottled tan fur.

"Hoi Ivok! Hoi chummers. Got you good, eh Ivok! Long time no speak. Staying warm, eh brother?" speaks the tiny ysoki excitedly in a rapid-fire staccato. "How's the exercise vid business going, eh?" he asks the imposing vesk as he takes a seat.

"Oh, is that Akiton Red?" asks the ysoki as he reaches for it. "Is it the real stuff?" he asks suspiciously. "Real dirt from Akiton and everything?" he continues with his inquiry before stopping.

"Oh, I'm Mon Taavi. But my friends call me Goose. Nice to make your acquaintance and all." he says to Charli as he's holding the tea packet, clearly waiting for a response.

As he waits, he looks around and spots another ysoki. Mentally he does a quick assessment and determines it to be the famous Neon Ten. Hallo fellow!" he offers in ysoki before switching back to common. "The famous Neon Ten, eh? Nice to finally meet you."

Goose then snags the signals from the Venture Captain and begins running a few encryption breaking routines.

PG. 634 of the CRB says a Minion can only act once per turn, during your turn. They can spend 2 actions.

From reading that, they cannot break it up.

With respect, you need to acknowledge that animals dying is a huge turnoff for some players. Sometimes even more than humans dying - since every party member has free will that **chose** to go down a dangerous dungeon. Not so much with a pet.

(For many players, the idea to bring along a sentient being just for it to die so you save x hit points amounts to nothing less than animal cruelty, albeit a fictional case. These players can't and won't ignore the story perspective where the animal trusts you and protects you, and they want to reciprocate by giving it a fair chance)

Quote:
Its not overwhelming or impressive but its remains stoically useful throughout the game.

If you treat it as a pawn, a resource to be used up, bled dry, maybe.

If you on the other hand expect your wolf or bear to share your adventures and fight alongside you for many levels, creating many exciting and happy memories you need an AC that's not made out of paper.

Which is exactly what fedoraferret concludes.

Stuff like this is why I would be tempted to have AC use the PC dying rules. That way your pet may go down a bunch but it is not very likely to die unless you are yo yo healing it and pushing its luck in a dangerous manner.

Kaid - AC do use the PC dying rules. This includes Animal companions and Familiars. See page 459 of the CRB under 'Knocked Out and Dying', 2nd paragraph, 1st sentence:

"Player characters, their companions, and other significant characters and creatures don't automatically die when they reach 0 hit points."

Weird now how melee weapon-only runes like ghost touch are affected. So if i throw a dagger that has ghost touch, does the rune get invalidated?

So the errata for thrown weapons (pg. 283), they now state thrown weapons become ranged weapons. So what happens to melee weapon runes like ghost touch on melee weapons that are thrown? They seriously quit working? That's kinda messed up.

This runs into a similar issue with Thief rogues and dex to damage. An agile, finesse dagger thrown...is it still a melee weapon? I say yes.

With your question, RAW, it would do what you are asking.

Others are not agreeing.

If not, then thrown melee weapons need some serious rework.

So, there are currently magic items for ammunition with 0-level spells and 1st-level spells.

For a very low level drop for 1st and 2nd level PCs, let’s focus on 0-level ammo but use 1st level ammo for cost and level comparisons.

Shining Ammunition, pg 560, is a Lvl 1 item that costs 3gp. Simply adds Light as a spell.

Vine Ammunition, pg 560-561 is a Level 3 item that costs 10gp. Adds Tanglefoot as a spell.

Both are cantrips added but the level and cost is quite varied.

Interestingly, Alchemical items with cantrips that damage, like Acid Flask, are Level 1 and cost 3gp.

It seems they raise Ammunition in cost and Level the more damaging or controlling in combat they are for cantrip Ammunition.

Level 1 infused ammunition is similar. Compare Spellstrike Ammunition with a Viper Arrow. Level 3/12gp vs. level 4/17gp.

I would lean closer to Vine Ammunition to add a cantrip to an arrow due to the combat effect.

So, Fire Arrows would be Level 3 items that cost 10gp. They would add Produce Flame effects, giving an extra 1d4 damage on a successful hit along with the critical success benefits.

It is less than Level 1 spell ammunition and more than alchemical items due to the increased range.

Thoughts?

You can clearly see his gestures, mimicking the dragon - big fangs, huge wingspan, sharp claws, laser beams coming out of its eyes, terrible breath weapon, nuclear weapons, monstrous size. The truth and fiction becomes overwhelmingly blurred to the point of ridiculous. Throughout the charades, you can hear snippets of the conversation punctuating the gestures..."fangs as big as a vesk" and "wings that can blot out the suns".

In the end, the excitement from the ysoki is downright palpable. His speech and gestures become even more animated. He finishes up and hits the 'send' button on his device before stowing it away. Goose then hops back over excitedly.

"Let's bag this bi-atch!" offers Goose as a large grin spreads across his face. With that, he hops in the hoverloader, ready for the next encounter.

Id - are you playing PF2 at GenCon?

I haven't been to that con since my daughter was in diapers. She's in college now. :(

I'm jealous. Let us live vicariously through you - Details!!!

In the Core Rulebook, there is an item that even mentions using Disguise for vocal mimicry.

VOCAL MODULATOR SYSTEM:

Throat
PRICE 125 LEVEL 1
A vocal modulator includes a series of miniature actuators built
specifically to reshape your voice box, along with miniature
hyper-resonant chambers that dynamically close or open.
This allows you to change the pitch, timbre, and tone of your
voice. You can more easily imitate accents or pronounce alien
languages. When using Disguise to change your appearance,
you gain a +2 circumstance bonus if the change in your voice
also helps your disguise (at the GM’s discretion).

Shouldn't the sudden inclusion of an at (or near) level weapon and armor put the player hilariously over WBL?

Let the player pull his shenanigans, at the end of every session ask the players to do a wealth audit. Players above WBL don't get any more loot or money until they even out.

Exactly. Have the PC "buy" it from the party pool. :D

Goose lets out a high squeak, intended to be an excited shout."That wyrm's gonna be plenty mad!" states the ysoki as he prepares the next round of disruption. He whistles a merry tune while working on the tasks.

Computers check to prevent ship #1 from firing during this entire combat: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30

Fire remaining missile from Ship #2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Damage from missile: 5d8 ⇒ (3, 4, 8, 7, 5) = 27

Computers check on ship #2 IF it is an opposed control check: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31

If there are any ship bonuses to aid, Goose will elect to use it on the opposed check first. If there is no opposed check, he will use it on the first computers check. If you need a full commitment on one roll now, make it for the first computers check in the Science round.

Goose looks up from his on-line RPG multi-player game and blinks. 'Dang game is super addictive! I better turn it off and pay attention to the mission.' he mutters to himself.

The ysoki buckles down and checks the buildings using his engineering skills.

Hey all. Ysoki Ghost Operative here. I need to update my sheet to level 7 here before we start. :D

I would just love to see Swift actions brought back to the old way and NOT count as part of a full-attack/full-action sequence.

Having kip up and not being able to use it with a Trick Attacking ysoki operative diminishes the benefit of having it at all.

Goose takes his turn in line and deposits his armament along with everyone else. This complement is quite light, considering - 2 pistols and a knife. He's undecided about the armor.

"Not that I'm overly modest, mind you, I'm not wearing much more than my armor. Traipsing around my my undies may turn a few heads, yah?" offers the ysoki as he peels off his light armor. He shrugs his tiny shoulders and proceeds through the screening checkpoint.

Sorry, my boons are at home. I'll just forgo them unfortunately since I am off to vacation this week.
