Sorry for not posting earlier... But here's what will happen on Kai's turn. He'll enter Stance of Clarity (focusing on the creature, raising Kai's AC to 17 against it, and lowering his AC to 13 against other creatures). Then, he'll move up to the creature and initiate sapphire nightmare blade.

Kai blocks out all of his thoughts except for those of this new threat, focusing on it with all of his will. He approaches it, studying it's movements and looking for weaknesses. He then attacks suddenly, taking advantage of the creature's weak point.

Concentration check/attack roll (1d20+6=24, 1d20+4=17)

If the concentration check equals or exceeds its AC, and the attack roll hits (target is considered flat-footed against this attack, then I do:
Weapon Damage/SNB extra damage (1d10+4=11, 1d6=4)[ooc] = 15 damage.

If the Concentration roll failed, then my attack roll failed as well and I missed my attack.

Kai sheaths his katana. "Hmm. A fox. In my land they represent mischief and trickery. Fitting that one should be part of a hob's trap."

Oops forgot to roll.

Kai's Attack/Damage (1d20+4=6, 1d10+4=6)

probably missed, even with +2 charging bonus to the attack roll making it an 8.

Sorry 'bout not posting before. Been quite busy lately.

My next action (on my turn) will be to charge the razorcrow circling Magpie, taking care not to trample the fox.

Hennet

Kai readies an action to move to aid one of them if they shout out for help.

Hennet

Listen Check (1d20+1=18)

Kai puts his hand onto the hilt of his katana. "That sound... is quite unsettling."
Responding to Magpie, he says, "Yes. I think at least one of us should go see what it is."

Hennet

Kai shakes his head. "No, thank you."

Hennet

Still brandishing his blade and eying the trappers suspiciously, Kai says slowly, "We have made no noise to bother the animals."

Hennet

Yep I have 6 days rations :)

"I will take second watch. Wake me when I am needed."

Kai sits near the fire for a while, munching on a portion of hardtack from his rations while apparently in deep contemplation. Once finished with his meal, he continues sitting there motionless for some time, then moves off to go to sleep.

Hennet

Kai pulls the hatchet off of his belt and goes out to cut some firewood.

Anything I should roll for this?

Hennet

Kai nods. "Yes. Let us go around the lake and stop at the Eldest Tree first. Lead the way, master hunter."

Hennet

Kai, who had been waiting patiently for the others at the designated spot, casts a calculating gaze at Vorax.

"That is a fearsome beast you have there. I believe he will be a great asset to us in the coming journey."

The foreign swordsman grips the hilt of his exotic-looking sword, anticipation gleaming in his eyes. "Let us depart!"

Hennet

Kai nods. "There is much wisdom in that idea."

Hennet

Kai nods and makes a fist with his hand. "Yes... let's go! I am eager to test my skill and my blade against the dangers of the Darkmoon Vale."

Hennet

"I am Kai Renyu, traveling swordsman."

Hennet

Kai bows to the healer, but allows Estra to talk to her, knowing that the cleric will be able to speak about a cure more eloquently than he.

Hennet

Kai looks around at the people in the line and lets out a sigh. "Hmm... If they are not sick, then they should not be in the line. But, nobody seems to be going away from here looking as though they were cheated out of medicine. Therefore, this "healer" Laurel is selling these people cures even though they are not sick... How disreputable."

Hennet

Kai turns to Estra. "This woman - Laurel - might be able to help you with your sickness. Perhaps we should visit her?"

Hennet

Kai nods at Jak and takes a bite out of the pancakes. "These... flapjacks, as you call them... they are... quite pleasing to my taste." The foreign warrior seems to be absorbed in eating the flapjacks, and continues eating as Estra and the barkeep talk, listening all the while. After he finishes, he looks up. "Perhaps there is someone in town that knows something about a cure? A healer of some sort, perhaps.?"

Hennet

"You speak with learned wisdom. I shall contemplate your offer, but for now, let us eat."

Kai runs his hand through his hair as a look of solemn thought passes across his visage.

Suddenly, a thought grips him, and he breaks the silence without warning. "I noticed many people afflicted by sickness while walking through town. Do you know of this, wise Estra?"

Hennet

Kai looks over at the dwarf with an appraising eye. "A cleric, you say? Hmm... My knowledge of the gods is lacking, so forgive me if I do not know what this... Sarenrae is about. I have spent my years in constant study of the sublime way of the sword. However, you are welcome at my table."

Kai looks back to the innkeeper, saying with a curt bow, "A plate of food and some drink for my friend and I, if you please." He then walks over to the dwarf went to, removes his sword in its sheath from his belt and leans it against the table before taking a seat. "I am called Kai Renyu, student of the Way of Perfection. My discipline requires the combination of the Diamond Mind and the Iron Heart, which are melded together to create the Perfect Body. The Way of Perfection requires the student to be like the diamond and like the iron: unmoving in the face of adversity, rigid and unwilling to let the winds of change affect the mind and the spirit."

Hennet

Kai appraises the man for a second, then speaks.

"I come from a land far from this one. It is a place called Minkai. My legs have carried me far this day, and I could use some water to drink and food to eat. A bed would also be good."

Kai reaches into his coin pouch and pulls out a gold coin marked with Minkainese symbols.

"This land accepts gold, no?"

Hennet

Kai Renyu steps into Jak'a'napes, having been told about the establishment by a woodsman he met on the ferry across the River Foam.

In accented common, the foreign warrior announces his intentions, saying, "I seek a bed to sleep on. Who is the owner here?"

Hennet

Kai has just arrived in town and is currently inside Jak'a'napes paying for a room rental.
Fort Save (1d20+4=23)
