Juma was wielding a spear almost before he could walk, all all males of his tribe. And the War Cry taught to the warriors of his tribe, even young ones, is a particularly terrifying one. Despite the many years since his capture and being sold as a slave, Juma remembers this early lessons perfectly and his training and experience as a gladiator and mercenary have only served to increase his skills in these areas. As well, the many hardships he's endured and his years as a gladiator and mercenary have made Juma incredibly tough. He is a very difficult man to put down. However his fingers were broken many times as punishment and so, while his grip remains vice-like, he lacks the dexterity for fine finger movements. Finally, being from the temperate jungles of Kush, Juma as never quite gotten used to the frigid climate sometimes found in the lands of the North and so suffers from the cold much more than most do. Brief History:
Towering over almost all others at nearly 7 feet tall, Juma is giant of a man. His jet black skin ripples over his massively muscled frame. Perhaps contrary to his intimidating physical presence though, Juma is generally a very friendly and easy going soul, and can usually be found with a large, perfectly white smile upon his face. Despite the many hardships and sufferings he's endured in his life, his outlook on life is a positive one. His having survived and overcome those hardships, plus his astounding height and physical prowess, afford him a significant, natural confidence. While life can be hard sometimes, he knows that he can survive whatever is thrown at him. And meanwhile, life is good and there are many things to enjoy, like seeing and discovering new places, defeating an enemy alongside comrades in arms, earning a pouch full of gold and the feel of a beautiful woman in one's arms. Plus many more things besides. Despite his friendly nature, there are not many whom Juma considers to be good friends. But for those few he does truly share deep friendship with, his loyalty to them knows no bounds. There is only one subject that never fails to cast a dark and deadly mask over Juma's features, and that is mention of the slavers who took and and slaughtered all his family. For the former slave has sworn an oath to revenge himself upon those very same slavers, even if it takes him the rest of his life to find them and exact their debt in blood. |
